KIAN'S POV
"Alex?"
I can't see her. She is normally waiting for me with Miss Emma.
"Where could she be?"
I can understand beauty. I see many pretty girls every day. But my Mama is something else. She looks like someone who was painted using only the best features.
Lorelei really is striking, perhaps even more so than is typical for a vampire. Her dark hair runs the length of her back, stopping just below her hips, and curls in gentle waves. Her eyes are dark; a feature we share. She has a little muscle, but not enough to make her look anything less than a Lady.
Mama says I'm too grown up for my age; too smart; too adult-like. I grew quickly when Alex came. She finds me difficult to talk to; 'an adult in a child's body,' she says.
