Decisions

Adam woke up the next day early in the morning feeling refreshed. He took his time getting off his bed and grabbing the laptop to check what time it was.

Once he saw it was still early in the morning he decided to practice summoning weapons and going through any noble phantasm that caught his attention. There was an extremely large sword that he was able to see. There was also one that let him collect any weapons in his vicinity. Lastly, there was one that lets him levitate. He had always wondered how Gilgamesh managed to float and came to the conclusion that it had to do with him being a demi-god. Now he was finally able to find an answer to his question.

After he was done practicing with all the types of weapons he got ready for his trip to the shopping center to buy the stuff he needs. Not taking too long he was out of the apartment. He decided on using a bus to arrive there.

Ignoring all the gazes he got along the way Adam was able to make it to his destination without any issue.

There were a couple of things that he wanted to buy today so he made his way towards the electronic section.

While moving through the places and viewing all the different computers and drawing tablets he finally managed to find both at a reasonable price and bought them. Instead of taking the products with him, he asked if they could deliver them to his apartment.

After giving his information to the lady in the cashier box that was giving him a weird look he continued searching for the other things he needed.

After finding all the things he needed he decided to take a seat and think of other things he wanted to buy. He had already gotten a phone, clothes, manga drawing materials, and a guitar. The latter was something he had grown fond of playing in his early childhood. Not being able to come up with anything else he needed at the moment he decided to go home. All he had to do now was wait for his stuff to arrive later in the night.

Instead of taking the bus back, he chose to walk home instead, there wasn't much that could happen to him while walking this early in the morning.

Walking towards his apartment he recalled that his fridge was empty so he determined that filling it up with groceries wouldn't be such a bad idea. So with that said he made a detour so he would be walking towards the market.

It was already becoming dark by the time he finished his trip to the supermarket. On his way home he noticed several men in a slightly dark alley gathering around a child. Wanting to see what was happening but not wanting the men to take a note of his presence, a helmet appeared in his hands. Putting the helmet on he vanished from where he standing. The helmet he just put on is the helmet that Hades' cap of Invisibility was inspired from.

Without wasting any more time he made his way over to the group of men. He could hear them talking about selling the child that was on the ground. Moving his attention from the men to the child, he realized that the child on the floor was a girl that had pitch-black hair that was a little over the shoulders and was outfitted in an old-looking green one piece.

As Adam was analyzing the girl on the floor one of the men that were surrounding her was about to reach towards her chest. Adam seeing the lecherous look on the man's face didn't need to analyze the situation anymore to figure out what was about to happen and immediately opened a gate under the girl.

The men who had the same idea as the guy that was about to reach her were confused by what happened. The girl's body sunk into the golden-colored ripple as if it was water.

They were about to yell out in surprise and anger but they stopped short of it when they caught sight of a child with golden hair and golden eyes that was standing next to a wall. Adam had taken off his helmet so they could his eyes were filled with absolute disgust and scorn that sent chills down their spines. It made all of them angry and annoyed because it looked as if the small child was looking down on them.

One of the men who couldn't handle the way he was being looked at screamed towards him "Get the hell out of here brat!"

Another guy whose brain was only filled with greed as he seemed to have forgotten about what had just happened and didn't even try and connect the dots between the event and the child standing in front of them turned towards his friend to speak so he could shut up, "Slow down there Yamada" he turned to the child and continued "Hey kid, why don't you come over here so we can talk about what you saw" he finished while signaling for Adam to get close to him

When Adam heard what the second man said he stood there for a couple of seconds with his eyes closed contemplating what he was going to do next.

The men who saw Adam standing still took this as him being too scared to move so they all looked at each other before making their move. Almost on cue with the men, Adam opened his eyes that were now filled with resolution. Not a second later, multiple golden ripples appeared around the men, and before they could even realize what happened, multiple Europen styled swords were sent flying towards them from the ripples at a speed faster than most people would even be able to perceive. Before they hit the floor after impaling the men they were returned into the vault without a drop of blood on them.

Adam who could only sigh at what had just happened turned around to leave but before he could turn around caught sight from the corner of his eye a bloody figure rushing towards him.

One of the men who was supposed to have been impaled by the sword managed to move his body in a way that allowed him to get away with the blade only piercing his arm. Once he saw what happened to his friends rage immediately clouded his mind. Seeing the kid look away from him he stood up and ran towards him with all his might.

Without needing to think too much about how the man managed to survive, Adam summarized it to him needing to practice shooting out projectiles more.

With a quick sidestep, Adam avoided the man's attempt to tackle him, and immediately pulled a one-handed Kopis from a ripple right next to him. Adam pushed of his toes and blitzed towards the man who was now on the floor crawling after his final attempt in capturing Adam failed. With a swift thrust, the sword smoothly impaled the man's back straight through his organs and finished by going through his stomach and hitting the concrete floor with a loud 'clank'. The man coughed a puddle of blood after a couple of seconds of being stabbed.

Adam who saw this could only shake his head and with an indifferent voice said "You can only blame yourself for this outcome," and without giving the man a chance to reply he pulled his sword out, letting the lifeless body of the man fall on the cold ground.

Using a potion from his treasure to dissolve the bodies of the men, Adam continued walking home.

After arriving at his apartment Adam immediately opened a gate near his bed and out of it came the body of the unconscious girl he saved. After placing her on the bed Adam went to his fridge to put all the groceries he bought prior to running into the group of men. After he was done putting away everything in the fridge expect a small amount of chicken that he was going to use for his lunch today he made his way to his room after putting the chicken and vegetables in his vault so that they'll cook.

When he arrived at his room he was greeted by the sight of a young girl that seemed oddly familiar to him looking around the room with visible fear on her face. Deciding to help the girl relax a little he softly asked "Are you feeling alright?"

The girl who heard someone speak to her jumped a little before turning around and seeing a kid around her age. After seeing this she managed to calm down a little.

Adam seeing that she had calmed down asked the question that's been bothering him since the beginning, "Why were you in the middle of an alley unconscious?"

After thinking about it for a bit the girl looked towards Adam with a small amount of fear in her eyes. It wasn't enough for her to be scared of him so she began explaining her situation with a voice that was barely audible. "I have been living in an orphanage since I could remember. The nuns told me that both my parents died soon after I was born. I was living there until a day ago but then a man named Satou came to pick me up. He said that he was going to be my new dad. But before I could get excited we stopped outside of an old-looking workshop. I immediately knew something wasn't right so when he opened the door for the car I ran off in a random direction. They have been following me since then". With a tired look on her face, she finished explaining her story.

Listening to the story of everything that happened it all made sense. Those guys had probably done this type of thing before. After realizing this, the small amount of guilt in Adam's heart vanished.

Contemplating for a bit he asked the girl, "Do you want to stay with me for now until you figure out what you want to do? I live by myself here so you don't need to worry about anything, there's also food in the kitchen so you can eat when you feel like it." Finished saying what he needed to say he was about to leave the room but stopped for a second and turned his head to say, "Oh yeah, my name is Adam Lochner, a pleasure to meet you." with this he returned to walking out of the room but stopped again when he heard her reply.

"My name is Mikasa Ackerman, thank you for saving me," she said with a grateful tone.
