BLACK TIE BILLIONAIRE

Scott grabbed Vivian's arm as she turned away from him. “Don’t you ever walk out on me like that again!” he said angrily.  Vivian let her eyes settle on his hand for a few seconds before she yanked her arm away from his grip. Noticing that she missed his touch, she shook the thought away. “The only time you have the right to tell me what to do is during working hours, and the last time I checked…. No one is working right now." His eyebrow lifted, as if calling her bluff." Really?" he asked. One side of his lips curled up in a smirk.  Vivian didn't care. She was finding it very hard to keep her mouth sealed tonight, and she didn't even try to stop herself." Yes. I am not your employee right now so I can do exactly as I please!” “That's funny?” He said, but there was nothing funny about the look in his eyes. His mouth hardened with lust. “Well, since we're going with that, it also means that I can do the same, right?” Without giving her a chance to respond, he grabbed her waist and he pulled her right up against him—so close that she could feel every hard muscle in his body. Vivian nodded, making a mental note of the many things she had to do. She wanted a job, and now she had it. First, she he had to talk to her manager about moving her shifts to evening. She had to go shopping for some office clothes. Get her hair done… buy groceries since she wouldn't have time to cook as much… the list seemed endless.

"Yes, tomorrow is fine," she agreed. She didn't want to give him the chance to hand this position to someone else. She knew that he was doing this mostly as a favor… and why he was doing it, she had no idea.

"Great. You should be at the office by 8am. You will organize my emails, my calendar and itinerary. You will also be handling some of my projects so time management is also very important. Also, please bring a copy of your CV with you tomorrow. I would like to have a look at it."

Vivian nodded." I'll be there " she said,"I cannot thank you enough for this"

Scott waved his hand. "That's alright," he said, "And if we're thanking each other, then I should probably thank you for this." He pointed at the cheesecake which was almost finished. "It's delicious… I have a feeling that I'll be coming here more often"

Vivian smiled. He wasn't really as mean as he sometimes appeared to be. He had a playful side to him, although he obviously didn't show it quite often."

After he left, Vivian went to the bathroom and almost screamed her lungs out in excitement. She was so happy… for once in her life, her bad decision didn't back fire… instead, something positive came out from it."

She adjusted her hair, then she went to find her manager so she could talk about her shift.

_________

Vivian took one hard look at herself in the mirror, before she turned to look at Megan, who sat in the corner of the room, watching Vivian with hooded eyes.

"How do I look?" she asked Megan, who had a slight frown on her face.

"That's what you're wearing?" Megan asked and Vivian swallowed.

"Yes. Is something wrong with it?"

"That's what you're wearing?" Megan asked again with a voice laced with disapproval.

Vivian's eyes narrowed. "I said yes" she grumbled, before she turned back to the mirror. "Is something wrong with it?"

She was wearing a black long office gown. One of the clothes they had bought the previous night after their shifts ended. Louis, the manager had granted her request to move her shifts to evening time, and she and Megan had hurriedly visited stores before they closed for the night so they could get her some clothes that, according to Megan, were meant for offices.

Now Megan was staring at her as if she didn't remember helping her choose this particular dress.

Megan stood up and moved towards her. "There's nothing wrong with the dress," she said, "It's just that, I don't think it's suitable for your first day at that office. You need to put on something… classy. Do you have any idea what kind of people you are going to meet in that place? You have to wear something that says, 'I belong here'... Something that will boost your confidence, because believe me, you need that today."

"I feel pretty classy in this" Vivian said, but Megan scoffed.

She went to the wardrobe and withdrew a light blue skirt suit with a white shirt and handed it to Vivian. "Here" she said, "Try this on"

Vivian sighed, but she took the suit anyways. "I don't see the point in this" she said as she began to take off the black dress, "I think everything we got yesterday is fine."

Megan went back to her seat. "Yeah, well I know that but today is your first day. You have to look real good. You're going to be introduced to the rest of the staff, you know… and how are you going to impress that new boss of yours. You said he was a hottie."

Vivian began buttoning her shirt and glared at her." Yeah I did say that," she said but turned away so Megan wouldn't see that she was blushing. "But I only noticed that he was… I mean, it would be hard for anyone not to notice that he's an attractive man. And I do want to impress him, but I want to do that with my skills and not my… outfit."

She pulled up the skirt and tucked in the shirt before grabbing the suit jacket. Vivian took one look at herself in the mirror once again, and she had to admit that Megan was right.

The suit fit her perfectly. The skirt stopped just above her knees, and the shirt did show a little bit of her cleavage, but not in a way that made her appear sluty.

"Well, you can start by looking impressive," Megan chipped in, "And then after that, you can focus on wowing him with your skills" She stretched out her hands to Vivian and handed her a pair of black high heeled shoes. "Put these on too. They go well with that suit."

This time, Vivian didn't protest, and she slipped into the shoes. They were not excessively high, and she felt like she would be comfortable in them. She put on some make up, careful to make it light….A little foundation, dry powder, dark eyeliner and red lipstick. She put her hair in a ponytail as usual and combed her fringe into the place. When she looked at herself in the mirror again, she felt beautiful. It had been a while since she let herself do something nice for herself like go shopping and put on makeup, and she was grateful to Megan for her help.

"Should I put on these glasses" she asked, grabbing it from the table. She didn't really need them as she didn't have any issues with her eyes, but she liked how it made her look.

Megan nodded. "Yes. They make you look more… professional."

Vivian smiled. She and Megan had been friends for more than two years. They had met at the cheesecake shop and had become very close to each other. Megan hoped to own her own restaurant one day and Vivian truly hoped that her friend got her heart desires. She had always been there for her when she had no one.
