Earth

With the death of every Elf. My plan could start.

First, I covered the Earth in a layered net of black matter. I allowed sunlight through and other necessary particles. Besides that, nothing else can cross the net without exploding. After that, I started destroying every Elven structure.

I had left the humans to their own devices all this time. The ones that adapt, will survive. I will let natural selection do its job. I estimate that most humans will die off though. I already see it happening.

The farm raised humans barely do anything for themselves. They don't look for food after they finish the left over supply. The ones that actually have any self-preservation left are the youngest children. Any adult that continues to live on is because they went along with what the children were doing.

The pet humans were having mental breakdowns for the most part. Which was leading to bad decisions that resulted in death. Fighting pets, the young, and work humans were surviving the most.

The human population was a trillion. Mostly farm raised humans. In the weeks that followed. 900 billion humans died. In the next few months, the population was down to 4 billion.

Then, a lot decided to die all at once for multiple reasons once Winter arrived. Now humanity was down to 800 million. After this happened. The population leveled out. It did not decrease further. In fact, it started increasing.

It was a year with massive changes for Earth. With my plan working out. I thought I could relax and be an observer until humanity is ready.

I did not get to relax as I saw spaceships come near Earth. They were curvy, sleek, and had the color of brass. They were Elven ships. I actually thought they would arrive much earlier to retaliate. For them to come here after a year was unexpected.

There were five ships of the same size. With one ship bigger than them all. Which should be the fleet flagship. A small fleet, as they probably think it is enough.

The first ship starts a descent into orbit. It does not see nor detect the practically invisible black matter net I put up. I watch closely for the moment their is contact. As it should blow up spectacularly.

A few moment watching and a massive explosion happens just out of orbit. The ship is engulfed in an encompassing atomic explosion and is blown into small bits. The other ships stopped moving. As they didn't want to suffer the same fate. The flagship fires an energy projectile at Earth. It is stopped by my net and is nullified. Such an attack would blast away a town.

Now the fleet stopped moving. Seeing through the hulls, I could see the Elves onboard donning frustrated faces.

The ships release smaller aircraft piloted by one or two Elves. They probe along where the assumed barrier is. However, one gets to close and brushes on it. An atomic explosion follows. Smaller than the last one, but it still destroyed every other small spacecraft nearby.

Now the Elves are pissed off. Every ship begins firing at Earth. Blue energy projectiles and red beams hit the net harmlessly. They stopped firing after 5 minutes of continuous fire.

Their perfect faces were now all scrunched up and scowling. It was giving me a good laugh.

To make them angrier, I made some words show up on the planetary net. In their language of course.

"Earth is no longer yours. You are the ugliest species I have ever seen in my life. Vacate your nauseous visage from this vicinity. Also, go fuck yourselves.", I chuckle as I made it appear.

I may be a little crass, but I didn't care. The Elves were now shouting at each other on what to do. I did want to be patient enough to see what their next move would be though. I stepped onto the command bridge of the flagship.

The shouting Elves froze up as they saw me.

"Why are you all still here? I told all of you to vacate. Did I not?", I say flatly.

The Elf that looks to be the captain or admiral speaks up, "I am Group Captain Unnova. Are you the one that put up this nonsensical barrier that killed my sailors and pilots?"

"Yes, I am. I also killed every single Elf on Earth. I thought you knew that since you were here. I guess that old Elf hasn't made it back to report yet. I wonder where he escaped too?", I answer.

Unnova's eyes widen, "What do you mean by kill every Elf?"

"I mean I killed very Elf. Whether they were man, woman or child. None were spared. I needed the planet free of Elven presence after all. I even destroyed every Elven building too. I erased most traces. Does that answer your question?", I say boldly.

He is silent along with the rest of the Elves on the bridge. I speak, "Now will you and your fleet leave. Or do I need to kill all of you too? I don't take prisoners after all."

He was shaken out of his shock after hearing my words. He grits his perfect white teeth, "What are you?! Why have you done this?"

An imprint of a smile appears on my faceless face, "I am human..."

He goes pale in understanding. As it all makes sense to him. He weakly clenches his fist as he realizes his limits. He is not as strong as a King. Let alone an entire planet of Elves. His little fleet is nowhere near enough to even make me open my eyes.

He says unwillingly, "We will leave. I can't promise that Elves would never return here though. Earth is within Elven Space. The surrounding solar systems that can support life are all under our control. You won't come out as the victor in this."

I laugh, "We'll just have to see. Begone now Elf." I then disappear from the bridge in a step. I am back on Earth. Looking up while standing in a meadow.

I watch with my exceptional sight as the ships disappear in magic dust. They are no longer in the system. I then look to my right and see a human adult male. Partially covered and holding a dead white rabbit. Must have been a difficult catch.

A human in this cold would not survive long dressed so lightly. However, the Elves did some gene modification to make humans for cold resistant among other things. Made them easier to keep as livestock. A small boon despite everything.

There was fear in his eyes. A being clad in back with no visible features would be unsettling. I promptly disappear from the meadow. I wouldn't want to give the man any extra stress.

I was now walking around with not much to do. As I just need to wait around for thousands of years and let nature to the rehabilitation of humanity.

Boredom is now my newest problem.

"What should I do now?...", I ask myself aloud.

I have two general options. I can destroy or create. There is nothing around I want to destroy. However, I could try creating. Black matter is still matter. I should be able to make normal things with it.

It should not be around where humans are though. Somewhere they won't be able to go for a long time too.

"The Ocean...", I think to myself.

The bottom of the ocean was one of final frontiers besides space before the invasion. The Mariana Trench still exist too. I can go to the bottom of the trench to do what I want. Humans won't get anywhere close to the bottom of the trench until the space age comes around again.

I stepped above the ocean. Then I had a thought.

"How would I get an air supply?"

Do I even need to breath though? My body is combined with black matter for the most part now. Can I breath water using this skinsuit I have on?

First, I tried not breathing. I held my breath. When I passed an hour, I realized that I do not need to breath anymore. I am not exactly sure why though. Now I want to try breathing water. I know the process that marine life use to breath water. I should try to replicate it.

I stop floating and drop into the water. I then then try to breathe it. After a few seconds, the skinsuit starts to filter the oxygen from the water. Then I was able to breath again. Now I could either not breathe or breathe water.

"I rather breathe water. Not breathing just feels weird.", I say to myself.

I then start a casual descent down into the ocean. I wasn't in a hurry. So I watched as I passed by the light zones and watched the marine life change.

I was nearing the top of the Mariana Trench and could see the cloudy film. Once I go through that, I'll be hidden away from humanity for a long time.

I drop through the film and disappear. The net is up and impenetrable, and nature will heal humanity.

I will come back up once they enter the bronze age again.
