Second Solar Sacrament

No, it wasn't that the world became black and white.

It was just that the particles of worldly energies were so beautiful that everything in the world paled in comparison.

This innate ability of his was strange, since it only allowed him to perceive the world in this special state.

Jin had once tried moving in this "special world". However, just a little twitch of his finger caused not only physical, but also soul stirring pain.

It made him severely exhausted both physically and mentally, instantly making him collapse.

He also found his finger mutilated beyond recognition. Fortunately, it was healed as if it was new thanks to his immortality.

Still, the experience was so traumatizing for him so he preferred not doing it again.

Of course, he surmised that things will be different if he became strong to the point that he could withstand the pressure of moving in this "special world".

Jin found it extremely easy to read the trajectories of the balls which allowed him to dodge them with minimal amounts of effort.

"What!? Why is he still not hit?"

"I don't know, I'm already throwing as hard as I can!"

"How is this possible!?"

The group of boys couldn't help but speak in frustration as they hurled balls with all their might.

This scene also seemed strange to Tanya and her group as they watched from the side.

"Hey Tanya, is the physical rating of your brother really just G+ as Instructor Agnes said?"

"Right, Tanya. Maybe your brother has some kind of special ability?"

"He's amazing!"

Tanya's eyes twitched from annoyance at the words of her friends.

Still, both her and their father knew that her brother had awakened a supernatural power called Double Lifespan at the Awakening Ceremony.

'But that still doesn't explain this…' She thought as she watched Jin.

He was neither fast nor strong. But every ball that was hurled towards him couldn't hit him.

'This means that… Brother is just really amazing!' Tanya thought as stars appeared in her eyes.

Her brother had always been her idol since they were a child. She admired him with all her heart.

That was why this scene just made her admire her brother more.

At this moment there were no more balls on the side of Marco and the others.

They could only stare helplessly as Jin perfectly caught the last ball hurled towards him.

"My turn."

Jin smirked, making the group take a step back.

Around 5:30 in the afternoon, the siblings arrived at their home.

Leo was nowhere to be found, the siblings surmised that their father was still at the Adventurer's Guild.

After visiting their mother at the prayer room, the two went to the kitchen as they felt hungry from playing.

"I'll go prepare our dinner, do you want to watch?" Jin said as he looked at the available ingredients.

Tanya shook her head and replied, "No, I'll help!"

Jin smiled as he picked a few potatoes from the shelf and started chopping while Tanya proceeded to get the pots and pans.

"But brother, you were amazing earlier! They even called you a cheater. Hehe, it seemed like they were about to cry!" Tanya looked excited as she remembered what happened earlier.

Jin became speechless at his sister who took joy in other's suffering.

'Hmm, I think I have an idea why she had all those titles…' Jin silently thought in his heart before replying, "I didn't really do anything, I just did my best."

Tanya had a bright expression on her face as she felt amazed by her brother.

The siblings chatted as they cooked together, creating a warm atmosphere in the otherwise empty household.

A few hours later…

Jin entered the mini library with a smile.

After they ate, the siblings played and bonded for a few hours before Tanya became sleepy.

It was now 9 in the evening and Jin finally had time to check the Book of the Sun that had been in his mind since earlier.

He opened the book to the page of the First Solar Sacrament which is the Sunfire Offering.

Although Jin still hadn't converted it to a technique, he had some inkling that it would involve an Aura Circulation method.

Still, it wasn't what he wanted to study right now so he turned a couple of pages and saw the next solar sacrament recorded in the book.

The Second Solar Sacrament which is called Sunlight Resonance.

Jin began reading the records related to the topic.

"...the humans of the past worshipped the sun from sunrise until sunset…"

"...the Sun Goddess Solana appreciated their efforts and bestowed upon them an art…"

"The Sunlight Resonance is an art which would allow a believer to worship the sun from dawn until dusk without exhaustion…"

As Jin read the records, his eyes widened in surprise.

'This is it…! This is what I need!'

Jin began to be excited as he read the process of doing the sacramental ceremony.

"...resonate with the light from the sun and breathe… feel the embrace of the Sun Goddess…"

The words recorded made him confused, making him clutch his hair.

'It's still as cryptic as ever…'

The reason why his predecessors weren't able to comprehend the sacraments recorded within the Book of the Sun was because the words in it were too vague and cryptic.

However, a smile could still be seen on Jin's face.

'At least, I now have a direction…'

Soon enough, worldly energies started to be visible in his sight.

His control of his body and his innate ability had reached an unimaginable degree throughout the years.

He could choose whether to just see worldly energies or to see the world in slow motion.

The intensity of the ability depended on how much he was willing to "let himself go" as he needed to restrain himself a lot in order to perceive the world normally like other people.

As worldly energy particles became visible in his eyes, the words written on the book also began to glow.

He was trying to figure out the technique hidden within the so called sacraments by analyzing the energy contained within the words.

Jin spent an hour or two studying the second sacrament recorded in the book.

He went to bed when it was near midnight as he still had to attend the Training Center tomorrow.

'I wonder how our Weapon Proficiency Class tomorrow will go…' He excitedly smiled as he closed his eyes.
