Departing

After cleaning himself in the river Isaiah sat down and took a look at the Sphere of darkness.

What he saw amazed him, the sphere was beating like a heart continuously over and over again.

Shaun told him that this was his mana heart. All the mana produced in his body came from here similar to blood in a real heart.

Isaiah put his hand on his chest but all he felt was his normal heartbeat.

He was scared he was going to have double the heart beats.

''Time to move on to the next part'' Isaiah said with a ferocious smile on his face.

He was going to use magic for the first time. He calmed himself and began doing what Shaun taught him.

Darkness magic could be used in many ways. As a gas, a physical form, or even the darkness around you, the possibilities with magic were endless. But one thing that stands true is that darkness magic is a extremely versatile magic.

Isaiah slowly controlled the mana produced by his mana heart and practiced shaping it into different forms.

This was what Isaiah saw Shaun doing earlier in the clinic.

It was way more difficult than it seemed as you had to actively use your mana control to control the shape it would take.

What even worse was that you had to give it a property. If you wanted it to be sharp you had to use your will to imprint sharpness on the magic.

If you wanted to be stealthy you had to do the same which was why Magic runes were used.

Magic runes could be used to change the property of a persons spell. You didn't have to manually imprint your will on a spell every time you had to use it. Also magic runes much more flexible and simpler to use. If you had a good understanding of the Runes you wouldn't have to draw them and could silently cast your spell.

This was another reason why the Royal Academy was so important for mages and people that wanted power. Also don't forget that Isaiah was living in an empire and what did empires do best? Conquer.

Isaiah was preparing to head toward the capital city but before that he needed to know at least one spell for offense.

So the next couple of days were very repetitive. Isaiah would wake up, feed the cattle, clean the shed, make breakfast and train. But today would be a little different.

Today would be the day In which he would tell Rachel and Evan that he was going to leave for a while. He made up his mind to tell them during breakfast.

While everyone was eating breakfast Isaiah broke the news to them. After processing his words for a while Rachel was the first to ask where he was going.

Isaiah told them about his plan to go to the royal academy to learn magic better and make more money.

Brother are you leaving forever? Evan said with tears in his eyes.

Isaiah felt like his heart got stabbed with a cold knife.

He quickly assured Evan that he would be gone for at most 4 months and that he would come back as quickly as he could.

Evan calmed down a little after hearing that but he was still a little sad.

Isaiah gave Rachel the Body cleansing technique so that if she wanted to learn magic it would be easier for her.

After settling all his problems Isaiah started packing all his belongings which weren't many and prepared to leave the village of Black Wood.

Isaiah only had enough money to reach the Royal academy as he left most of it for Rachel and Evan.

He paid a merchant that was stopping at the town of Pernith which was relatively close to the capital city and hopped on one of the carriages.

Along the way he practiced his mana control so as to not waste any time. In a sense he could be called a workaholic.
