The unexpected call that changed everything
Summer was sleeping so well. She was on the verge of waking up knowing that she'd be ahead of her alarm that shouldn't start beeping for a few more minutes.
"Good morning,"
To Summer's ears, his voice was even deeper than usual. She opened her eyes to take a peek at what was happening around her, Valentine was on his back, still on her couch, while she had her head on his shoulder, secured by his arm that was wrapped around her waist.
"…This is just a dream, right?"
Valentine's quiet laughter shook the couch. But a baffled Summer had no idea how the two of them ended up this way.
"You stayed the night," she concluded with a high pitched voice, "And we…" she trailed off.
