Valentine took quick steps in the direction of a bewildered Andrew.
"Did she wake up?" Andrew spoke in a low tone with red eyes and a red nose.
Under normal circumstances, that emotional state Andrew was showing would've meant a fight right then and there, Valentine wouldn't have cared that they were in a hospital, and he wouldn't have cared that Summer's parents were around either. But leaving one foot between the two of them, all that Valentine could show Andrew was gratitude for being the one who waited for six whole days until she woke up because of him.
"MOM, GET DAD AND MIKE AND COME RIGHT NOW, SUMMER WOKE UP!" Gabe's crying shouts echoed down the hallway where the two men stood.
But Andrew couldn't move a muscle Summer's way.
