The announcement
I make my way inside the ballroom and toward my family, who is positioned in the far corner of the room.
Near my family, Seraphina and Zinnia are standing with their partners. They begin to make their way over as soon as they notice me.
"Hey, Seraphina, Zinnia." I embrace both of them. "I'm glad you made it."
The waiter walking by offers me a glass of wine, and I happily accept it.
Taylor approaches me and takes the glass from me as he moves closer. "Thanks for the drink, sis."
As I make my way over to my family, I immediately begin a dialog with them.
Turning back, I discover that Melvin is walking down the steps. I am aware that eyes are on me. I go against him and pay attention to what my family says.
I hear Melvin whispering in my ear. "We need to talk."
Before I can respond to Melvin, my attention is immediately drawn to Michelle as she walks through the door."
The direction that he is looking is the same as mine.
