Chapter 10: Looking for a sensei

(PoV Haruki)

Yep... We just got scammed! Yaayy...

I- we are currently standing in front of a worn-out wooden dojo, that could only be found in some sketchy alley, the sign on top of the building is barely hanging on, that if a weak wind were pass by here, I doubt that the sign would even sway.

Reading the hanging sign of the dojo that spelt as "Everything You Need!" I could barely keep myself from plummeting to the ground.

Who even name stuff like that?! Especially when it's a dojo and not a shop!

No waitwaitwaitwait. What if the one running this dojo is some sort of "Hidden Peerless Supreme Expert Master" trying to live a normal life in this not so VERY normal world?

After all I've seen A LOT of shit-tivator manhua that my head once became numb from the shear stupidity and entitlements from young masters who then run away with their tails stuck between their legs after being humiliated and then begged their parents for help who then begged their parents for help who then begged their ancestors for help.

Though there are some that have MCs not knowing they're overpowered who then started a long chain of misunderstandings after misunderstanding.

Anyway, I looked at my aunt with my best efforts to not throw a tantrum

"Is this really a dojo?" I asked nicely

"Y-yeah, I think so?" Even aunt can't be confident anymore. I slapped my forehead thinking that it was a waste of time and money, I already want to leave this place.

I noticed that my aunt also having the same thoughts. She held my and Nikko's hand firmly before getting ready to turn around, but before we could do the action, we heard a voice coming from the inside of the dojo.

OKAY, THAT. WAS. DEFINITELY. A ZOMBIE NOISE! I HAVE SEEN A LOT OF ZOMBIE MOVIES AND PLAYED ENOUGH ZOMBIE GAMES TO KNOW WHAT THEY SOUND LIKE!

My aunt got into a fighting stance while a bead of sweat comes down from her forehead.

A shadowy figure slowly emerge from the darkness of the entrance of the worn-out dojo, the way it walked towards outside as if attracted by the light emitting from the dark.

It then slowly basked in the sun with it's head of chicken, a pale skinned topless body of a lean muscular man who only wears the pants and belt of a keikogi

'It seems familiar, Have I seen it before somewhere?' This creature definitely looks familiar but I can't get my head around it.

The chicken man fell at the entrance of the dojo *~grrr~*, the sound of a zombie again sounded and it seems to be coming out of the chicken man's stomach.

"Hungry... Give. Food... please!" The chicken man tried to reach out to us but was kicked away my aunt, making it fly a few meters out from it's original location.

"UWWAAAA"

The chicken man screamed and hit the piled up crates at the other side of the alley creating dusts of clouds around him.

The chicken man got up and rushed towards aunt who prepared herself for a fight.

The chicken man made contact with our Aunt, and instead of being pushed, the chicken man fell on the ground the moment he touched Aunt Elly.

His stomach sounded again, he turned his back towards the ground and looked up at the blue sky as if it was his last day on earth

"Is this it? Is this my end?"

The chicken man muttered in a barely audible voice, I saw my Aunt giving the chicken man a sigh containing multiple emotions. Mainly relief, disappointment, anger, and cringe

I would like to ask why she is disappointed, I mean don't she already have health problems, not to mention her busy work schedule?

I regain focus on my Aunt, analyzing what action she'll do next.

She slowly reached her hand in to her bag and began rummaging through her stuff inside. It took a moment for her to stop, it seems like she finally found what she's looking for.

She took out a food bar, or is it a protein bar? I don't really know, not with all these hero branding that can be seen everywhere you look. And no I don't want to read the description, food is food! Be it animals or plants or steel or glass.

I think I'm getting off topic...

Aunt Elly took out a food bar from her bag, that I often see her snacking on, she unwraps the food bar and offered it to the lying chicken man who was watering from his mouth.

The chicken man unmasked himself revealing a handsome man with gray silver hair with a hint of pale green, and gray eyes.

He quickly took the food bar and ate it within seconds upon receiving it. The chicken man suddenly became more energetic, and his pale colored skin regained it's color

'Ain't no way a food bar can be that effective!' No I refuse to believe that such little amount of food can be that good!

"I must thank you, oh great divine merciful madame from the light in which shines brightly in a world of darkened hell. Let me repay your mercy! I shall follow your words and wishes without questions and do it to my fullest abilities!" The handsome man said while kneeling in front of Aunt Elly

This guy is creepy! Too creepy and dangerous!

Aunt only responded with giving a kick to his face, sending flying yet again

"One more word from you and I swear I'll label you a villain!" Aunt Elly said firmly, she is already embarrassed enough as is.

First she got scammed, second is the look that me and Nikko are giving her for getting scammed, and NOW she is receiving a sudden knight like declaration of pledge from a handsome pervert.

"So, what are you all doing in front of my awesome dojo?" The handsome man is gone and now returns the chicken man.

After the whole fiasco, that you can man invited as in, in his run-down dojo. He seriously invited us in while already showing signs that he can't be trusted! The audacity of this chicken man!

We were reluctant at first, thinking that this was his another ploy to scam us out of money, but we agreed as my aunt already memorized his identity.

My aunt was cut off

"Are you here to register to your two children to be my disciple?" The chicken man asked excitedly with his eyes sparkling like a sea of stars.

*Bang*

Again, the chicken man took another blow to the head, earning him another hill on his head.

"They're not my children, they're my nephews!" Aunt Elly is now starting to losing her patience. A tick formed on her forehead giving the chicken man a glare that could incinerate a person if she had the ability.

"Anyway, I want my money back! You filthy scammer!" Aunt Elly yells as she points at the chicken man and the latter backed away as if already knowing the former's next move.

Sometimes I wonder if my aunt really has heart problem, I mean if it were a normal person with heart problem they will definitely pass out from all that yelling.

Though I too want to atleast sucker punch the chicken man for wasting my time, but since the adults are talking I'll just play around in his dojo

(3rd PoV)

The two adults sat at the opposite of each other, having only a small table sperating them from one another before a brawl starts between the two.

One of them wore a casual outfit, her hair tied in a pony tail, and giving a death glare to the other party.

While the other wore no shirt, exposing his muscular yet leaned physique, only wearing pants from a keikogi uniform. His eyes were serious, his chicken head has the look of a serious veteran which can only mean one thing.

He was mocking the former individual...

This was what Elly is feeling while staring at the eyes of the chicken that somehow has a furrowed brows

"..."

"Well?! Give me back my money you chicken headed freak!" Said the annoyed Elly, they have been staring at each other for more than five minutes already until one of them decided to break the stand-off between them.

"I did not take money from you..."

"You DID, Do you know how much it costed us three to get here?" Elly shamelessly said.

The chicken man flinched, not for the reason delivered by Elly but the utter nonsense and shamelessness that came out of the woman's mouth.

'She serious?' Thought the chicken man as he looked directly into her eyes.

The chicken man concluded that they won't be getting anywhere if they talk with words, since he knew that women like her can only communicate with their fists

Getting up the chicken man took a stance, and once again glared at the woman as if saying to come at him with everything she got

The chicken man expects that after showing his capabilities maybe he could finally have earn enough money to atleast eat for an entire week, He wouldn't let go of this opportunity that has been laid upon him

Elly read the look of the chicken man and she took stood up and kicked the small table out of the way which caught the eyes of the chicken man before taking a fighting stance

"And here I thought you were an elegant madame of light that needs to be protected, turns out that you were a barbarian all along, can't believe that I almost pledged my loyalty to you." The chicken man commented in a mocked tone

At the distance Haruki and Nikko's attention shot towards the commotion and heard the chicken man's words

'But you did so earlier though...' both children snorted at the same time

A tick can be seen at the forehead of Elly

"A barbarian... you say?" Elly replied, a dark aura forming behind her that could make common onlookers run leaving behind their bodies and off to the afterlife

Without saying anymore words Elly propelled herself towards the chicken man.

She started off with a simple jab with her left but was simply dodged by the latter by a hair's breath.

She followed by another jab and was dodged again, seeing that she is up against a fast one she chose to fight passively and wait for an opportunity to throw a heavy blow on the chicken man.

Jabs after jabs along with a few kicks aiming towards the targets head but unable to get a hit.

"Tsk" clicking her tongue she decided to fight aggressively as Elly already starting to lose her patience.

The chicken man kept dodging Elly attacks with finesse, every step he took were carefully calculated it was as if he was guiding the woman to her every move.

This kept on for a few more seconds. A smile can be seen on Elly's face that is full of beads of sweat, clearly enjoying the bout, though the face of the chicken man remained the same, they were unmistakanly having fun.

She were panting hard already starting to feel pain from her chest but still ignored it and want to continue until she could atleast land a punch to the chicken man's face before ending their "conversation"

From a few steps away she pounced towards her target again and threw a right hook which was easily dodged by ducking under the attack, already expecting him to dodge, she followed with a low kick aimed towards the man who was still in motion.

Underneath the mask, the chicken man smiled as he already managed to convey the message he was trying to tell her.

He decided to take a hit from her as he knows that she won't stop until she lands a good hit on him. Closing his eyes he braced himself for impact, he knew the strength behind the kick she is going to throw just by observing it

A few moments later after preparing himself, nothing landed on his body.

*Thud*

He heard something fell, he opened his eyes and saw the woman that he was facing fell on the ground on one knee while clenching her chest trying to relieve the pain she is feeling.

He could see the two kids rushing towards them and sighed

He faced Elly and said "You sure do know how to hide something from your opponent"
