Beyond Earth

"Fear is a feeling, but it tends to run deeper than that. It's like a virus. Resilient and highly contagious. And even the smallest seed of it can grow to destroy you." °°°°°° It's the year 2280. Airborne particles were invented with the intent to eradicate diseases but instead they become radioactive, toxic and severely deadly to anyone who breathes in even a tiny amount. The world becomes a dystopia and is uninhabitable. With time running out for humans on earth, Hiro Tachibana is one of the scientists that has to find out if a new planet is fit for habitation. But when people start turning up dead on the spaceship and there are more questions than answers, Hiro realizes that he may not be able to trust anyone. Not even himself. Chapter 101

"The scouting team is back," I said to Ezra who was in the driver's seat before he glanced out of the car's window and at the road that led into the estate.

The cars sped down the road before it skidded to a stop next to us and the people that went on the scouting run burst out of it, horror and shock etched onto their faces.

"What the hell happened here? Why is the gate on the ground? Why are houses burning?" Captain Caldwell asked in a rush as Ezra got down from the driver's seat while my mum practically threw herself on me, hugging me tightly and I stumbled back a bit.

"What are we going to do about the gate? We can't fix it in time. They'll be here soon," one of the soldiers said to Caldwell, his tone sounded urgent.

'Fix it in time for what? Who will be here soon?'
