"You should always try to control your temper."
Her uncle said immediately she entered inside the private room where he was.
His back was to her as he looked into the city through his floor to ceiling window at the far corner of his large room.
It wasn't a room per se, but a kind of study with desks, book shelves and files everywhere.
It looked more like a library than where a Mafia boss would stay.
"Yes Boss" She bowed curtly.
He turned around to look at her with his straight and hard face.
Never had she seen him smile. Maybe she had, but she could not remember.
His dark eyes, bald head, and hard face made him look scary whenever one saw him.
But she was used to him. For years she had been with him. He had taught her all she needed to know. Even though most times he was really harsh with her and wiped her, he was still able to teach her most of the things she knew today. And she had also learned her aloofness from him.
That way, she and many more others did most of the dirty jobs, while he was just in here handling the paperwork.
About controlling her temper, it was her greatest challenge. Truthfully, she wasn't proud about most of the things she did because of her temper.
It wasn't as if she had never tried to control it, but most times, it was difficult for her to swallow some things.
For years, she had been struggling to get to the top. It was her lifelong ambition and everything she had been doing for years, she had done all of that with the hope that she could quickly level up and lead the sect in the nearest future.
She didn't think anyone else deserved it other than herself.
Many times, she had to put her life on the line for the attainment of the greater goal.
So how dare that idiot quickly dismiss all her efforts just because she was a 'woman'?
He had been lucky she was not in the mood to end his life. 'Very stupid fellow' She thought unhappily.
"How is he?" Her uncle asked, interrupting her thought.
She knew he was referring to Hwang Thomas so she went on to narrate how the pervious days had been like. She had given him a heads-up earlier, but she hadn't bothered to explain in details because she was always moving about with Tom plus she couldn't manipulate the bugs for too long so he wouldn't suspect.
"No matter how much you feel like killing him, you better don't do so. We don't need anything that would disrupt Mr Hwang from contesting in this upcoming election. You know so don't you?"
Lisa nodded to that. "Yes Boss!"
She knew she could not touch Thomas because he was their key into the house of Governors and senate.
She also had to protect him because if anything were to happen to him, then it might affect his father's gubernatorial race.
And that was the last thing they needed.
She was hoping that with this last mission, she would be promoted to Rank Two in their sect. And the thought of it excited the shit out of her.
"And no matter what always try to be friendly to him. We don't want him firing you now do we?" He added.
Friendly? She had been doing that right?
Or what else do you call it when you don't hit the person you so badly wanted to hit? Doesn't that make you friendly?
Or what about when you agree to see a movie with someone you didn't like? Doesn't that make you friendly?
"I will continue to do my best Boss" She assured him before offering a deep bow.
"Good." He paused before handing her a large envelope.
"There's a new girl in town. Her name is Amanda Park. Everything you need to know about her is in there."
Lisa took it the envelope from him as she wondered who this 'new girl in town' was.
After other small talks, it was time for her to leave.
But where was she to go to now?
*************
"You look lost. Something bothering you?" Amanda asked Tom whose attention had long left their presence.
"Hmm.. Nothing." He answered with a shrug.
"So you were saying something about your mother?" He remembered the last thing she mentioned was her mother handling some kind of business or something like that.
"I mentioned that like twenty minutes ago." She said with a deep frown. "I was asking about your friends right now— Joel and Anna."
'Twenty minutes ago'? Tom was surprised.
So for the past Twenty minutes he's been cussing Germany's boyfriend in his mind?
What's wrong with him? This girl right here was the girl he had always wanted to have. Now she was here sitting with him, but his mind had been wandering about to what Germany was doing with her boyfriend?
"We could do this some other time if you have a lot on your mind. It's not nice that you've not been paying attention to me." She pouted and fluttered her lashes at him.
Tom sighed before apologizing to her.
"A lots been on my mind lately but I'm really happy to see you Amy. I'm sorry today is not going as we both planned."
"It's okay. But if you promise me a date, I might just forget about this awkwardness right now."
She said with a sly smile that caused him to laugh.
"Ya sure. I seriously do owe you a date. Anywhere you wanna go to. Bills on me." He assured her with a smile.
"You promised. I choose, you agree."
"You choose. I agree." He affirmed her words.

"I don't think your father would be happy to know you came out alone. What if something bad happens to you?" Anna scolded Tom.
He had suddenly called them to come hang out with him at their favourite hangout spot that evening.
When the arrived, they had been expecting to see Germany beside him but to their surprise, he informed them that it was Germany's day off.
Like seriously? wasn't he supposed to have another bodyguard on standby?
"Come on. She's always sticking around. She has her own life you know." Joel explained to Anna who looked unimpressed.
"I met Amanda today. Amanda Park" Tom suddenly dropped the news to interrupt the both of them, making Joel choke on his drink.
"Amanda Park? Like that Amanda Park?" Anna asked first, raising a brow at him.
"That Amanda Park" He echoed her words with a nod.
"What the hell! I thought that girl ditched you four years ago." Joel raised his voice.
"She didn't ditch me. Her family had their problems" Tom explained.
"Problems that could not make her call to say hello? Are you seriously kidding me?" Anna asked angrily.
"It's a long story. And I couldn't get most of the gist because I was not really paying much attention to her." He explained with a sober look before lifting his wine glass to take a big gulp.
"You were in a date with Amanda Park but did not pay much attention to her? It's hard to believe." The disbelief was clearly evident in Joel's face and voice.
"Just forget about all that. Hope you came with it?" Tom asked Joel.
Joel knew exactly what he was asking him for so he handed him a file.
"This one is a good PI. He'd get every information you need before you know it."
"Wait! You're both still into that PI stuff?" Anna asked curiously.
"Yes. Any problem?" Tom asked her with a confused look.
He didn't see anything wrong in trying to protect his bodyguard from her insincere boyfriend?
Even though he knew nothing about her so-called 'boyfriend', he was very certain the guy was bad for Germany. In fact, it was best for her to remain single.
