Negotiations

I sat in a chair before the head of the Golden Canary Clan Sect Leader Han Mars. The man who had usurped my father and taken over the entire clan. That included my fathers wife, my stepmom. She had remarried to protect her children. The 2 older brothers that left the sect.

She sat next to her husband and next to them was Vice sect leader... I forgot his name.

In the middle of the table separating both sides were the Alzik dragon's. They were here to make sure the peace talks went well and acted as the mediators.

"Greetings sect leader Damien." Han said with a smile on his face. Why was he smiling? Should he not be angry as I had destroyed a huge part of his residence, defeated both his son and his second in command.

"It is an honour to meet the Sect leader of the Dark Purple Rain Clan and the saviour of this city and it's people."

I smiled at him. "You flatter me." That was all I said however the vice leader and my former stepmother both frowned.

"Such an arrogant child, he can't even formally despite being in the middle of peace talks." Yarla Mars said. That was the name of my former stepmother.

"So what is that you wanted?" I ignored her and looked at Han who was still smiling. " Surely you do not expect an apology out of me."

"Not at all... An apology is just merely words. There is no big benefit to an apology. We want several things and we shall provide you several things in exchange."

I nodded. "Sounds good... so what is it that you want from me and what shall you provide me with."

Han raised his hand and through the doors walked in luck. "In exchange for curing my daughter we will give you her hand in marriage. Your Clan and ours will be like brothers and in the event that you need our help we will provide it to you."

I looked over at Luck. She had her eyes on the floor and she couldn't even look at me. I shook my head. "No thank you... if I am to ever get married then I would like my wife to love me and not simply care about me because it is a marriage of convenience."

Immediately Luck looked up at me. The vice sect leader and Yarla kept yapping but I had already turned them out.

"Why is he your second in hand?" I asked Han as I pointed at the sect leader. "He is a small man with a giant ego. He is impulsive and does not like to listen to others. The entire reason why we are here is because of his fragile ego and rash decision to attack me."

Han stayed silent but still maintained his smile. He knew I was right. For such a person to be in a position of power it would only lead to problems and troubled.

"He is my right hand because I chose him to be my right hand. Surely you don't want an apology do you?"

"Not at all... An apology is just merely words. There is no big benefit to an apology. I want several things and I shall provide you something in exchange."

"Which are?"

"I will heal your daughter but in exchange I will receive 7 martial arts scroll of my choosing." Previously the original arrangements were 3 scrolls. "I also want a payment of 50 golden chips."

I could feel the emotions of the maids and Muvolik who stood next to me and behind me. I knew what they were thinking. They were all thinking I was a greedy bastard but who cared? Not me that's who!

"Sect leader Damien..." All this time the Alzik dragon's were silent however after hearing my demands they could not stay silent after all. "Do you not think that your demands are a bit too much? You have destroyed his house but you ask for monetary gain."

I smiled. "That is merely a small amount of money to The Golden Canar'ies. Me on the other hand after being invited into their home was attacked. By the vice sect leader no less and the the second born. How do I know that they were not sent by the Clan Leader Han."

"If that is what you want then you shall receive it. It is true that 50 Golden Chips is a small amount of money and I would prefer to avoid a war if possible. I also want my daughter cured so this is nothing in the face of my daughters life. She is more important to me than money or any scrolls."

I'm glad we are on the same page. This was what I had been hoping for. Since the Alzik dragons asked for a sit down I knew the Golden Canaries needed something from me. Now I was to receive money and scrolls and they would have their daughter healed. It was an absolute Win Win in my eyes.

"I am glad that you and I have come to an understanding without the need to go to war and have our people die for no reason other than our giant egos." I said.

Han laughed and stood up. I also did the same. We met in the centre of the room. Han was a tall man but not too tall to cause one to strain their neck. He had bright grey eyes, a clean shaven face and jet black hair that was styled backwards.

I shook his hands and we both stared at each other's eyes. "Do you want me to cure her now?" I asked.

"If you would be so kind." Han said with a smile on his face. His smile was like that of a cunning man. He reminded me of that one anime character with the slit eyes that smiled and carried a grudge in their heart.
