22 Knight Academy

A fourteen year old boy wearing a knight's armor was walking around the academy. It had Large walls a lot of fully equipped soldiers it was a fortress filled with students. All of them aspiring to become the greatest knights.

The boy who was walking angrily was classified as an F class student the weakest of all the ranks. "Damn it! why am I so weak?" While the boy was kicking away his frustration, it suddenly rained. "WHAT THE HELL!!! YEAH THIS IS REALLY GREAT!!" While the fourteen year old boy was screaming at the heavens a boy wearing a red coat fell from the sky. Upon reflex the screaming boy caught the other that was falling. "Who the hell is this?"

Darkness, everywhere was darkness... "Why am I here?" This feeling of icy coldness was enveloping me it was devouring me.

"Wait a moment who am I anyway?" So many questions but there was no answer. No matter how hard I tried I could not recall anything. I can't remember anything not even my name. Everything was blank as I was empty... Yet for some reason fear was not the first emotion to dwell within me but excitement. I felt excited at the unknown, I felt elated at what may happen next. Then I heard voices that sounded both male and female, both young and old, both foolish and wise. It was a warm voice as well as an icy one and it said "Do not fear for you are the strongest."

After I heard the voices I awoke from my dream. My eyes for the first time saw the light. "So you're finally awake." I looked at where the voice originated from and saw a boy wearing a knight's armor. "So are you feeling alright now?" He asked me, his eyes was really full of worry... This was a good person was my first thought. "Yes I am thank you, for looking after me. By the way where are we?"

"The infirmary of the academy."

"The academy?" I looked at the boy wearing armor with a confused face. "Yes this is the knight academy of Regon, the place where all aspiring knights gather."

...

The young man wearing a red coat looked at me with confusion. "By the way my names Richard and you are?" Richard greeted the stranger properly as a knight should but the stranger simply shook his head. "I don't know my name, I actually can't remember anything."

"Huh?"

The guy named Richard looked at me confused. "You don't know your name? how about where you came from?"

"I don't know that either. I have no memory aside from waking up in this room." When I said this, out of nowhere a man with messy geen hair that was covering the right part of his face appeared.

He looked at me and was shocked for a moment, as I stared blankly at him. "Do you know who I am?" The man asked in which I shook my head.

"Why? Am I suppose to know you?"

The man hearing my answer smiled. "Interesting as usual... No sorry for the question, you just looked like someone I know. So greetings are in order I am Albert Wolfstein a doctor and professor of this academy, and you are?" Just when I was about to speak Richard answered for me.

"Sorry professor it seems like he lost his memories, he doesn't remember anything." Albert looked at me curiously. "Memory loss... Hmmm okay then seeing as you have no name let us call you Gabriel Wolfstein for now, I'll let you enroll in this academy as my nephew. As long as your memory isn't restored then you have nowhere else to go. The two of you follow me, we will start with the practical test." Albert was heading out when I spoke.

"Sir Albert why are you helping me? Did I know you from before?" Albert turned around and showed a vicious grin.

"Nah, I'm only helping you because you look a lot like a person I knew before. I have a huge debt to repay to that guy, so I just felt like helping you. And don't address me so formally and just call me uncle, alright."

I looked at him and smiled, he really is kind "ok uncle!" The three of us left the room and headed toward a large building that had no roof but was surrounded by seats that was made in a horizontal way and in the middle of the building was an open space this was located in the center of the academy. No one was here except for me, Richard, Albert, and another man.

Albert was talking to the unknown man and came back. "So will be doing the test right now."

"What is the test all about uncle?"

"The test is a simple sword fight it is a test to see if you have enough skill to be considered a knight."

"But I don't know how to use any weapons." Hearing me say this made Albert smile. "Well will see about that.... I think this will be good for you." Albert handed me two blunt short swords.

When I held them they felt familiar yet somehow different from something I once knew. "So That instructor over there will be the one to grade you and see in which class your suppose to be in."

"Class?" I asked Albert. "Yes Class... You see here in the academy students are separated into different classes depending on ability. The classes are categorizes from F to S, F being the lowest and S being the highest oh right their is also a special class the SS class which can only be given by the head of the academy. The only one who can receive this is the strongest student. By the way, Richard over here is an F class student."

I looked at Richard he diverted his gaze from me looking ashamed. "It doesn't matter Richard will always be a good person no matter what class he's in." I smiled at Richard his face turned red "Thanks Gabriel."

"Ahem! Now back to my explanation the one who would be testing you is actually the head of the school. He is willing to enroll you even though it's the middle of the year as long as you satisfy him in battle. He has high expectations of you seeing as you are my nephew that I personally recommended."

I looked at Albert completely bewildered "Wait I' am fighting the head of the academy without any knowledge on how to use a sword?! Are you sure I can do this uncle?"

"Yes I'm pretty sure you can do this. Just step forward and believe in yourself. Aren't you feeling excited already, aren't you thinking that this sounds like it will be a lot of fun? Isn't your body burning in anticipation. See your even shacking and I'm sure it's not out of fear but that of excitement right?"

He was right that was how I was feeling right now. "How did you know uncle?"

"Heh just a hunch. So now then go and show me what you got" I nod at Richard and uncle and headed for the middle of the arena.

Richard approached Albert "Sir what are you thinking that's the director the head of the academy. How can someone with no experience fight him? You even made him into your nephew I don't understand." Albert was smirking at Richard as he answered "Richard Midor watch this fight and all of your questions shall be answered."

I'm Layfon the director of this school. I was asked to personally do an admissions test for an upcoming student, and the one who requested it was Albert Wolfstein. With that in mind it could only mean the boy in front of me was something special.

"Hey boy introduce yourself!" The boy in front looked shocked for a moment and smiled, he even did a proper bow and said "I am Gabriel Wolfstein. Good sir, I'll be in your care." What a proper young man.

"HAHAHA you're very different from your uncle, actually you're the exact opposite of him. Now that you have introduce yourself it is my turn. I'm the head of this academy Layfon Rigan."

I took a stance and yelled at the boy, "hey boy take your stance." The boy looked at me and shook his head. "I don't know any stances. I'm sorry to ask, but how do you take a stance?" I

s this boy tricking me he doesn't know any stances? Now that I look at it this boy is full of openings. Why did Albert recommend him? I'm sure it's not because their related, no he is not that kind of man.

He even requested I personally do the admissions test, but why? Hmmm no use being bothered now "Boy take any stance, it doesn't matter if it's correct just take a stance your comfortable with."

The boy nodded at me and took a deep breath, I thought he was going to do something, but he didn't move. The stance he was in was no different from simply standing up. If a greenhorn looked at it he would say there was no difference from awhile ago. But I'm no greenhorn all the openings he was displaying awhile ago where now gone.

There's even this extreme pressure I have never felt before. This boy may sound and look like a greenhorn but seeing him now he felt like a master. I looked at Albert he was smirking at me damn that sly fox.

"Heh looks like you have what it takes."

"Huh what do you mean? I don't really know what to do... But when you told me to take the stance I'm more comfortable with, this was my answer was it wrong?"

This boy is he feigning innocence? He is Albert's nephew but that look in his eyes and the tone of his voice even Albert can't lie like this. So is he telling the truth? If so, whats with this pressure. It seems Albert knows something... Well no use thinking about it I'll just do the test. "Boy ready yourself where beginning right now!"

Sir Layfon suddenly charged at me it was fast but not so fast that I couldn't dodge. The first strike was coming it was as if I could predict all his movements. I easily dodge his first strike and even the following others. On seeing an opening my hand moved before I could think. I instantly slashed at the opening, but Sir Layfon blocked it with his own and pushed me back.

Albert's thoughts:

I knew it! Even if the mind doesn't remember the body will. Though he can't remember his vicious techniques nor does he remember his strength but still his body will move accordingly. This proves how many battles his body has been through. Heh as expected of you Leo.

Richard's thoughts:

He treated me as his equal but he was this strong. Amazing! This kind of strength, is the strength I have always dreamed of having. This guy has it even though his the same age as me.

Layfon's thoughts:

That was a powerful strike and to be able to dodge all my strikes as if it were nothing. This boy's potential seems endless, still as the head of the academy I mustn't show such a shameless fight to a future student. Better get serious... He seems able enough to survive.

....

Sir Layfon's speed increased dramatically that my eyes couldn't follow, but still it felt like I could easily dodge his attacks same as before. I saw all of it coming and while dodging a vague memory of something surface in my mind for a brief moment. My body stopped dodging and moved forward slowly, while my hands started moving in an extreme speed. Moments later sir Layfon stopped moving his weapon shattered as he smiled at me. "Incredible move, I know one student that could do the same move but yours was in a different league it was flawless."

Albert's thoughts:

Hahahahaha still such a monster Leo! That was fangs of the wolf it has been ages since I saw that move.

Layfon's thoughts:

The same move as the S class student Adela wingled's signature technique fangs of the wolf but, hers was more of a defensive type and still had many more room for improvement. This young man's technique was of a pure offensive type, and it had no flaws at all. I couldn't even discern the first strike what Godlike sword strikes.

...

Sir Layfon looked at me in awe actually I myself was surprised that I could do such a move. That move felt so familiar that even my body remembers how to do it. While I was thinking sir Layfon spoke "Gabriel Wolfstein, I Layfon Rigan director of Regon's knight academy approve of you as a student. From this point on I appoint you as the only SS class student."

Albert's thoughts:

Hahaha I knew this would happen you never disappoint do you Leo.

Richard's thoughts:

Higher than the twenty S class. I actually get to witness the birth of the only SS class. Everything's happening so fast... But this only means that I won't be able to be friends with him. Now that he knows I'm a F class loser, he will never want to be my friend.

...

I shook my head at sir Layfon I already made my decision "I'm sorry sir Layfon but I must decline that offer. Please put me int the F class instead."

Everyone including Albert looked shocked and nobody spoke for a few seconds... Sir Layfon was the first to break the silence. "Why the F class? You do know that is the weakest of the classes and is often belittled by the other classes."

"I know that sir, but my friend is in the F class." I approached Richard and patted his shoulder "My friend, Richard's there... I am your friend, right Richard?" Richard looked at me a little teary eyed and nodded

"Yeah you're my friend." Sir Layfon looked at me and Richard with an expression that seems to be saying what fools and smiled "Very well then I will grant your wish and place you in F class, welcome Gabriel Wolfstein to Regon's knight academy!"
