Chance Encounter

Alex flew through the air, his cape billowing behind him as he scanned the city for any signs of trouble. He had already stopped a robbery in progress and saved a kitten from a tree, but he knew there was always more work to be done.

As he landed on a nearby rooftop, Alex paused to catch his breath and take in the city skyline. He loved the feeling of being up high, watching over the city like a guardian angel.

But just as he was about to take off again, he caught sight of something that made his heart skip a beat. Down below, he saw Shadow sneaking into a high-security facility.

Alex's first instinct was to stop her, but something held him back. Maybe it was curiosity or the desire to know more about his mysterious roommate, but Alex found himself following her instead.

He trailed behind her as she slipped past security measures and made her way towards the main vault. Alex couldn't help but be impressed by her skill and cunning. For a moment, he almost forgot that she was his enemy.

But as Shadow reached the vault, something went wrong. The alarms blared, and the lights flickered on, revealing her presence to the security guards. Alex knew he had to act fast.

He dropped down from the ceiling, landing in front of Shadow with a determined look on his face. She looked just as surprised as he was, but she quickly regained her composure and reached for her weapons.

The two of them stood there, facing each other in the dimly lit vault. Alex knew he had to stop her from stealing whatever was inside, but he couldn't bring himself to harm her. There was something about her that he couldn't ignore.

Suddenly, the ground shook beneath their feet, and a blast of energy knocked them both off balance. As they scrambled to their feet, they saw a figure in the shadows, laughing maniacally.

It was their mutual enemy, Dr. Vortex. And he had just entered the scene.
