Demon King Yue

Zhou Lin is in a pinch right now. There is an incredibly cold lady who is gazing at him mysteriously. She is wearing a blue elaborate robe that seems to accentuate her gorgeous figure. Her sharp yet sleepy looking eyes seems to contain the knowledge of the whole world, and her hair that has the same color as the moonlight itself sways slightly with the breeze.

It is impossible for him not to sense her. He has a wide area of Divine Sense. She just suddenly appeared out of nowhere, which is incredibly disturbing for him.

'If she wanted to kill me, then she can do that without me noticing!' She shuddered at that thought, which is actually true.

If he has no way of even detecting her, then how can he even be confident that he can survive her?

He already admitted defeat within his mind when he saw her. He just wanted to leave right now and not offend the woman looking at him.

Demon King Yue is also gazing at him with a mystified feeling. She only came here because her sleep has been interrupted by the strong heavenly tribulation. Seeing that beautiful control of the profound energies of Heaven and Earth moves her heart. It's like seeing her crush.

The two of them stares at each other for a moment, not knowing what to do next. They were met with an awkward silence. The only sounds of air filling up the ozone on the area, and the crackles of the remains of the Heavenly Lightning are the only sounds that can be heard with their silence.

Finally, one of them finally decided to move. It is Zhou Lin who is daring as he coughs for a bit to take her attention.

"Hello... uh, what can I do for you?"

He can see the obvious white fox ears, and the nine fluffy white tails behind her, indicating that this woman is not a human. He might be clueless about many things in the world of Cultivation, but he can still surmise some things through his own knowledge of the tropes at his past life.

'A demon beasts... and if the cliches are correct, then she must be a high level one as she has a human form!' He thought to himself.

Even with his masterful way of controlling and sensing the Qi on his surroundings, the only thing he can see is the concentrated clump of Qi coating her body and nothing else. She is also good at controlling her Qi, and barely any internal Qi are leaking out of the pores of her body.

Her presence is practically nonexistent, and he only manages to locate her because she speaks awhile ago. His eyes is not leaving her form as he tries to talk to her.

Demon King Yue stops staring at him after she heard him talking. She can see that despite having experienced a Heavenly Tribulation, Zhou Lin seems relatively unharmed. In fact, it felt like he haven't even expelled any of his energy, and seems to be energetic enough to do a lot of things.

She immediately regains her composure, and snorted. "Hmph! Human, I have no issues with you cultivating on my lands. Though you have disturbed my sleep. I suggest you stop doing so and change locations if you are planning to meet a Heavenly Tribulation once more!" She said imperiously, looking very proud and arrogant.

She is an ancient Demon Beasts, she can't be meek in front of this human. That will be a great insult for her, and he might even have some funny thoughts if she tries to give an inch to him.

Zhou Lin let out a sigh of relief at that. It seems like this mysterious lady is giving him a way out.

Though, he is a bit troubled about that. He doesn't know where he can find another isolated place so he can breakthrough to the next realm.

'It seems like this mysterious female demon beast was powerful. Maybe she can help me if I ask politely?' He thought in wonder, and immediately goes along with his plan.

"I apologize if I disturbed you, Esteemed Lady. Though, I don't have any place to cultivate peacefully. Will it be fine if you can guide me to a place that is appropriately safe?" He tries to be daring and ask the obviously strong demon beast.

The woman is not attacking, and she seems to be accommodating enough based on her speech patterns. There is a small chance that she might give him some way so he can find a place to cultivate peacefully.

Demon King Yue blinks her eyes at that. She is surprised that this human is actually daring enough to ask for favors from someone like her. Actually, she felt somewhat interested at that.

It's been so long since she finds someone this interesting. As she has grew bored of the world, she prefers sleeping inside her Small World and not caring about the affairs of the world. Anything is boring when the only thing she can encounter are just violence upon violence.

"Hmph! Just go to the peak of a mountain and do your cultivation there! Now, stop disturbing my sleep!" She declared, wanting him to take the hint and leave.

She really didn't want trouble. She is not scared, but it is too troublesome to her if this person suddenly felt offended and attacks her. No matter how little it will take, it is still an effort she has to do to take care of something like him.

She has no motivation to fight at all.

Zhou Lin frowned at the suggestion of this mysterious lady. He wouldn't dare go to the peak of the mountain. He is sure that there are many strong Demon Beasts in it, just like the deeper parts of this forest.

He kept avoiding those strong monsters because he wasn't confident that he will survive. Surviving is much better than being killed due to useless arrogance or recklessness.

"Is there a safe mountain in this forest? Please tell me?" So he tries to ask something like that.

This woman seems to be residing in this forest, so he thinks she might know something. It is also just a harmless question, so he thinks it won't offend her.

Demon King Yue's eyes lits up for a bit in interest. She is surprised that this person is still talking to her instead of running away. Even if she is showing a bit of her Qi, she is still a Star Realm expert. A little bit of her Qi should have suppressed a newbie Sky Realm expert.

She wonders just where he is getting the guts to talk to her?

"Hmm... if you are looking for a safe mountain, then I suggest going to the north. You will find a mountain with two peaks." She helpfully provided to him even while acting cold. "Now scram!" She added.

"Thank you, Esteemed Lady!" He said, cupping his hands, before turning his back around.

"Wait...." Though he turns his head back to her when she called out. "What is your name, Human?" She asks, wanting to at least learn the name of the man who is daring enough to talk to her like a normal stranger.

"... I'm Lin. My surname is Zhou. It is nice to meet you, Miss...?"

"You may call me Yue. I am the ruler of this side of the forest." She simply explained to him. "If you are going to visit this place again, I suggest not being too loud. I will be incredibly displeased if you disturb my sleep again!" She warned.

That's what she only wanted to say really. She hopes that no one does their Heavenly Tribulation so near to her Small World.

Zhou Lin can't help but smile wryly at that. "Of course.... uh, Lady Yue." He said, cupping his hand on her way once more, before finally deciding to leave.

With that, their confrontation ended peacefully.

Though as Zhou Lin got a bit farther at that place with his footsteps using the Fleeting Death Arts, he can't help but comment under his breathe.

"That female fox.... she is too laid-back!" It's the only impression he gets from that mysterious woman.
