Tess made a conscious decision to refrain from interrupting Lanse, fully engrossed in his captivating story. She hung onto his every word, eager to absorb every detail.
Lanse's voice resonated with intensity as he recounted their daring mission. "Once our group safely descended from the rooftop, leaving our hoverboards behind, our squad leader wasted no time in briefing us on the objective: locating the Sybervirian. We couldn't afford to let it escape, grow stronger, and claim more lives. Even worse, time was ticking."
He vividly recalled the squad leader's instructions, "No heroics. We were to split into squads of six," Lanse explained, a hint of amusement in his tone. "I could still hear the squad leader's words echoing in my mind: 'If you come into contact with the Sybervirian, call for backup immediately and track its movements.'"
