38 Congratulations

Jaemin's mouth was currently wide open, his jaw could even touch the floor at this point.

He looked at JYP and Suji, to see if it was really real.

They seemed suprised as well, but they congratulated him afterwards, whilst pushing him forward since he has to give a speech.

He hadn't even prepared one, but with his eloquent tongue, it was simply a piece of cake. His high Willpower also helped in moments like these, although it could not totally supress his nervousness.

His Willpower mainly focussed on that: if he decides on something, that he won't easily be wavered by outside interference.

His hand couldn't be removed from his mouth while he was walking to the stage, he was very honored to receive an award. Soohyun hadn't even won an award in the past, yet, he did.

"Congratulations!" said both of the MC's. He of course, returned the greetings.

He walked over to the mic, and paused for a moment.

He could say this more than one hundred times, but it all seemed so much like a dream to him. He hadn't even experienced any big hardships yet. Everything seemed to go so well for him, a bit too well to be honest.

But for now, he had to give another model speech, and this time not in front of one reporter, but in front of everyone present.

He took a deep breath, and started his speech.

"I am extremely honored to be receiving this award. I am earnestly grateful for the recognition I have received for my work, because I am very sure that every other nominee for this award was as capable if not more, of winning this award."

"I sincerely thank eachone of you, especially my close friends, family, and co-workers for helping me reach a stage where I can proudly hold up this award as a mark of my achievement. I also promise to only try and get better at my work so that you can see me here for more awards. Thank you!"

A loud applause followed, usually rookie actors either get very emotional or nervous when they first receive an award.

He on the contrary, was very professional and composed. His image was slowly being built up, it would be harder for people to flame him if he was like this.

Of course, there were always people who hated you, he was no exception. They would always find a way to somehow try and drag you down.

He had already received quite a bit of hate, but he just ignored it. If he didn't talk or think about it, he wouldn't care less.

He walked back to his seat and waited a bit longer.

...

...

...

...

Up next, another award he was nominated for, the popularity award.

He was quite curious, would he win this one as well?

'If so, then it would really be crazy' he thought.

"And the winner of the Popularity Award, Actor is..."

'Could it actually be me?' is the ony thing that went through his mind at that point.

"Park Yoochun from Sungkyunkwan Scandal!"

Ah.... Too bad.

He clapped and smiled, since he had expected this outcome. Even though he was a bit sad that he didn't receive the award.

If he won everything, it would be a bit too much.

And there he has to sit, waiting for the next award, again. Which was, The Netizen Popularity Award.

And of course, the winner was Park Yoochun again.

The last award he has to wait for currently was the Best Actor award.

...

...

...

...

...

"And the winner of the Best Actor award is...."

It is a very boring process if he had to be honest, Jaemin couldn't help but yawn a few times during the award show. Of course, he was now sitting on the top of his seat, since this was an award he was nominated for.

Which was crazy in itself, since Dream High isn't really a drama where an actor could show his skills in. He had to beat literal veterans for this award, and those veterans acted in movies that even caused him to admire their characters.

He was just a silly homeless school boy, while their roles were either like the fucking emperor in the Joseon dynasty, or a North Korean top spy that had gone through about a thousand hardships that no ordinary person could ever survive.

'If I somehow beat the-'

"Jeong Bo-seok from Giant!"

...

He sighed, "Nevermind, how come that such a rational person like me got influenced this easily? Is it because of my age? Isn't intelligence supposed to help me with this?"

It was to be expected, his role simply wasn't able to display his acting abilities that well. Just the fact that he had been nominated for the Daesang as a rookie actor was a huge achievement in itself.

But lately, he had noticed something.

He was getting delusional, or at least, a bit unrealistic with his thoughts. This wasn't only now, but basically his whole "new" life? How could an adult act like a teenager? He himself was curious about this as well.

He normally just brushed these kinds of thoughts away in the past, but it became more and more noticable as time passed.

A very clear example of this was that he lost his control with the ex-JYP instructor that hit him. He indeed deserved it, but it wasn't like him at all. His personality had gotten more, fiery?

He didn't feel like an adult, he felt that he was like as old as he was now. Although he was a bit more mature than the others, the fact that this happened wasn't normal.

Maybe he was too ignorant to notice it before, but why is he like this? Was it the system that was affecting him somehow? Wasn't it supposed to be the perfect cheat?

He wondered how it would affect him in the future, he couldn't stop it anyway.....

Author note:

----------------

Small chapter today, can't quite write that well yet.

I'll make sure the next one is of better quality.

Also, another reminder.

This isn't where I actually wanted to start the story. In the beginning, I had planned to do one huge timeskip right to 2014, and let the story start there.

But, because of the support I got to continue writing the story in more detail is why I decided to do it like this.

So please, don't mind the timeskips, since this could be considered a kind off, very large prologue? It's very satisying to read honestly, there's no real conflict yet.

Maybe it could be considered more of a beginning volume that describes his beginning career?

Well, at least I will continue using small timeskips until 2014, if you like it or not.
