Unlikely Ally

Having a blade made out of lighting to my throat, I ask. "Theresa? What are you doing here?" As She pushes her blade closer to my neck, I push my gun more into her forehead.

"That's my question criminal, It's because of you that I lost my position! And now you're trespassing on a crime scene, give one good reason why I shouldn't cut that head of yours"

Pulling slightly on the trigger, her face frowns. "Good point..." Standing in this stand-off for a second, I offer to take a step, and then she will take a step back, but she calls me crazy since she has a sword and I have a gun.

"Okay, then how about this." Taking a huge risk, I put on the safety of my gun. Standing for a second Theresa decides to take a step back, holstering my gun she disperses her sword.

"So... Wanna talk in one of the offices?" I offer, nodding her head, we sit right in the first one. Sitting opposite each other, I start to get nervous, so I spin the cane in my hand.

"What brings you here?" I ask. Angerly pulling out her phone, she shows me a picture and my heart sank. It's a tattoo of the lantern. "This, I know they're still around! But no one believes me!"

Taking her hand, I look her dead in the eyes and tell her to drop it, even someone like me is scared. "So they are back! I knew it! Back when I was 15 I managed to bring down an entire wing of their cult! I'm not stopping until this vermin is cleaned off!"

Thinking that she's not getting it, I explain that this is no laughing matter they have ears everywhere and their members will go after you relentlessly! Smiling she tells me that there's nothing to fear.

Standing up, she points at me. "Now, Why are you here, I told you my reason so it's only right that you tell me." Sighing I tell her to follow me, showing her the file box in Gunter's office, I explain my situation.

"Do you remember the Tall blonde? He was shot by a suppressing stone, I'm trying to find the individual who is connected to the stone." Nodding her head, she looks over the files.

"Suppressing bullets.... They're highly illegal and are written off as inhumane weapons. Since the only way to stop their effect is to convince the individual to stop or kill them off."

Nodding my head, I lean back in the chair. "But that's like finding a needle in a haystack, I have no idea how I'm supposed to find that guy." Straightening up, I grab a folder.

Reading over it for a few seconds, I spot a sale for a Large orange crystal. "This! Could this be it?" Showing it to Theresa, she read over the name, Oswald Peterson, "Tha's the most cultist-sounding name I've ever heard." I joke. But Theresa doesn't, she instead reaches into her white uniform and pulls out a book.

"Oswald... Oswald Here!" Pointing to one of her pages, I see pictures of a man in yellow robes. "He's a wing leader! He usually supplies the cult with artifacts and other things!"

Seeing pictures and detailed writing on the man, I get my hopes up. "Do you know where he is?" Closing her book, she tells me that she knows only one place where he could be. Getting my hopes up, I stand up and tell her to lead the way!

Walking out of the office I try to ask her what that place is only to get tackled.

Hitting my back on the railing, I see a masked man dig a knife into my side. I scream out in pain and grab the masked attacker by the head.

*Crack* Twisting his head, he falls limb to the ground. Grabbing the knife I think of pulling it out, but stop when I see three other attackers. "Theresa?!" Not getting a response, I worry that she got attacked by others but the second the guys walk past the office, a large lighting bolt electrocutes them on the spot.

"For a second I thought you'd blown my cover." Lighting a cigarette, she asks me if I want. "No, I don't smoke." Pulling out the knife, I bring the fire from her lighter over to me and burn my wound shut.

Not even waiting for me to be done, Theresa lights her cigarette over the fire. "What? I can't light my cigar if you steal my fire?" Rolling my eyes, I snap my finger and return the flame back to her lighter which then disappears.

"It's easier to borrow it than to make it out of thin air." Patting my wound, we start to leave the warehouse. Pulling up the garage door, Imdeatly stop my feet and create a large ice wall.

"What are-" *Bang~!* As a salvo of rounds is fired, Theresa falls to the ground and crawls to the wall. "What is that?!" Seeing a lot of green through the ice, I reply. "Volunteers, It seems that our original gunfight got us attention."

As Theresa pulls out her official gun, I quickly jump to her to stop her from shotting. "No! No killing the Volunteers!" *Bang~!*

Looking at me as if I was crazy, she yells that they were assaulting an officer by Aquarian law, so she was allowed to kill them in accordance with the law.

"No! I will not allow you to kill these brave men, shot their legs and arms but in no way will you kill them! They're risking their lives in their free time to keep this place a tiny bit safer!"

Frowning, she holsters her gun and asks me what I propose we do. Peaking from behind the corner, I see their weapons. "Air guns?" *Bang~!*

Pekaing from the cover again, I see them reading. "You really send Air guns as Military aid?" Telling me that without her they would have gotten paper blowguns, I tell her that I would have preferred that right now!

Stomping the ground a large ice pillar forms in the middle of the Volunteers. Yelling now, Theresa and I run out of the warehouse into the alleys. "After them!"

Running after us, I kick a Dumpster in their way. Entering the main street, I grab Theresa's hand and throw her onto a tram. Pulling myself on it as well, we watch from the back as the volunteers spot us on the tram.

"Tickets?" Turning around we see a ticket inspector. Pulling out 20 aquars or the price of the tickets, he smiles and lets us be. Turning to Theresa, I ask her at what stop we're getting off, but instead, I see her crouched down only with her hands on the railing.

"You..... Good?" Shaking her head, she tells me that she never ran from the law. Laughing I slap her on the back and tell her to grow a backbone. Pulling out a cigarette, she starts to light it but I grab it.

"Stop it, It's not good for you." Telling me off, she says. "I'm a 31-year-old single woman, I can do whatever I want." Taking the cigarette back, she puts it into her mouth.

*Snap* making a small ball of fire at the end of the cigarette she thanks me. "Isn't it taxing to do this? You know, you don't seem to be a strong Sephirah." Smirking, I tell her that down here we call it wizards since none taught us the official naming for the past 70 years.

"That's tough, Anyways." Pulling out her book she skips through pages, but I stop her on a certain one. Putting my finger in the way, I see that it's a page about me.

It wouldn't be problematic if that was it, but what made me uneasy was the fact that she had a picture of me from 2 years ago, just when I began my criminal activity.

"What curious what dirt I got on you?" Letting it go, I tell her that she has basically nothing then a few pictures. "All though, you will have a lot to work with since I left the police station."

Raising an eyebrow at that, I tell her that I let myself be willingly detained so I could speak with Gunter and figure out who the buyer of the crystal is. "You're crazy, Anyways, here. My last research let me believe this dock is working with The Lantern. Nodding my head, I jump off the tram as it moves along a small bridge that leads over some lower parts of the slums.

"It is a huge possibility, after all, Gunter worked with the cult, at least that's my information say." Climbing over the fence, I see that it's quite a way down.

"You can't be seriously thinking of going down like this," Theresa remarks.

"As long as I smile, nothing is impossible!" Jumping off the bridge, Theresa yells at me and runs to the railing only to see me hold onto Creapping ivy, which has grown all over the bridge.

Sighing, I ask. "Did I scare you?"
