Dawn came much sooner than Chantria had expected, and her eyes came open slowly, and the residues of sleep faded off.
For a moment, Chantria just lay still, staring up at her ceiling.
The streaks of sunlight that seeped in through the blinds had roused Chantria from her sleep and Chantria sat up on her bed, breathing a quiet sigh.
She could still recall the torment the night before had been and Chantria could not be more glad that it was over.
"A new life? I knew there had to be a catch." Chantria grumbled beneath her breath, recalling Kahlel had stated this would not be the last of such an episode.
The discomfort had not faded off completely but Kahlel had administered a sleeping tonic that helped Chantria rest undisturbed by the pain and now, Chantria did not feel as horrible as she had the night before.
