Battle of Hearts

"There are things that you just have to forget ... especially if those things can bring you back to him."

I am crying when I woke up from sleep. I woke up again in a dream. Another bad dream. I always have these nightmares as if I were in a movie and I always face faceless villains. I can't remember their face nor even their voice every time I wake up. I just remembered how furious I am to them and how I wanted to seek revenge.

"Another dream?" Felix hugged me worriedly. Looks like the sound of my crying woke him up. This has been our routine for the past weeks and I am kinda used to be being with him in the same house.

"Yeah, a horrible one. Sorry for waking you up."

"It's okay as long as you're okay." He took a face towel from my walk-in closet and wiped my sweaty face. He's been so caring for me for the past days but there is still a part of me that wishes that Nathan is the one who's taking care of me, who'll I always see whenever I woke up, who'll kiss me good night and hug me as he says his good morning, who'll stay with me forever but... who am I to ask? He's been serving Him now. He's on the right path...

"I'll just take your medicine." I sighed. I took medicine every day but I'm still having bad dreams. He handed me the medicine and a glass of water.

I frowned. "Is that really effective? If it is then why am I still having a bad dream?"

He disheveled my hair. "Don't be stubborn Angelie, it will be good for you." I frowned and took the medicine. He kissed my forehead.

"Mama and papa are going to visit today so let's get ready." He holds my hand as I get down the bed.

"Why?" He just shrugged his shoulder.

It's been two weeks and until now Adair is still not answering my calls. I tried to go to her house but her maid said that she's out of town endorsing an international brand. She's been acting so weird lately so I want to know what's up. At first, I thought that maybe it was the result of her pregnancy 'but I think it's not. There is something wrong.

"Felix, can you contact Adair for me?" He sighed. "You've been asking that every day for the last 2 weeks and I'm obeying you each time you will ask me to do that but I guess she just needs time or maybe this is all a result of her pregnancy that's why she's being emotional. Just try to understand her. " I sighed.

How many times will I sigh today?

Felix's POV

I just stared at Angelie's angelic face while she's sleeping. She looks like an angel. Her name suits her very well from her face to how she laughed. No doubt that Nathan would also fall for her.

You and my daughter are married now, you are handsome, you are rich, you have everything that a woman could ever wish for so I hope that you can make my daughter fell in love with you.

I remember again what Angelie's mom told me when I danced her on my wedding day. Martinez and Morgan have been friends for a long time. Wealthy and powerful clans that you do not want to collide with but Nathan came. He ruined everything. I did not expect that only one goods shipper could ruin the union of two powerful clans. I considered him as my best friend but that friendship was long over when I found out that he and my fiancee are dating. Before Angelie and I were born, we were set to get married one day for the union of both companies but Angelie is unaware of that. Her parents did not care about our marriage before. What important for them is to reign in the business industry. So when they went bankrupt and only the union of the two clans could lift them, they immediately did everything to separate Angelie and Nathan.

I'm not like this before, I don't care to whoever is the girl my parents will command me to marry but when I met Angelie at school she already got my attention. She's not like any other woman who loves to look hot and daring. She's different. She's simple and innocent at the same time. I rejected the long-planned wedding of my fiancee and me when I met Angelie and became her friend. At that time the business of the Morgan Clan was going bankrupt so they forced me to marry their only daughter or even just get to know her better. As a sign of respect, I agreed to meet my fiancee and was surprised when I found out that Angelie is the one but I'm more surprised when I found out that my best friend is betraying me.

~Flashback~

I searched for Nathan the moment that I found out that he and Angelie are dating. I'm the one who introduced her to him! I told him that I like my best friend!

"Fucking traitor!" I punched his face which caught him off guard. I kicked him a few more times but he only avoided all of my blows. He can do nothing against me because I can take back everything that I helped to his family. "I'm the one who introduced you to her!"

He just stared at me with no hint of expression on his face. "We have known each other for a long time. She just doesn't want to tell you because she wants to see your reaction when you find out. You know how childish she is sometimes."

I laughed in disbelief. How could he stay calm at times like this? "Then you should have told me that something is going on between the two of you!"

"You are my friend, I do not want to hurt you when you find out that we planned to get married when we were young." He does not want to hurt me but what he just said gave me a big blow. I felt like I'm the one who's been punched and not him.

I clenched my jaw. "Are you saying that you're her fiance. Sorry dude but let me introduce myself to you, I am Felix Ramirez, the legal fiance of Angelie Satterle Morgan- Ramirez. Remember my last name. Ramirez, the surname that will replace her surname.

We agreed in the end that we will act like we're in good terms only in front of Angelie so that she won't get hurt when she found out that we fought because of her. I can't afford to see her avoiding any of us for something that will never come back...for our so-called friendship. That's when the invisible battle between me and Nathan started. Maybe he's the one that Angelie wants to marry but the important thing here is that in the end, I'm still the one she married. My name suits me very well cause it means...prosperous and successful.

But even if I win between me and Nathan's battle, nothing could change the fact he's still the one who wins her heart...
