Ayaan, Lydia's biggest bully is now her new boss. He has been the CEO for about two weeks now yet he's not aware of Lydia being his employee. Lydia has been avoiding him all this while. She now know that she has made a big mistake for not working in the Zimbis company four years ago. At that time Mama Zimbi insisted but Lydia said she didn't want to burden them any further. That was why she's working elsewhere.
Ayaan used to be Lydia's childhood bully. He bullies her through frightening and silly pranks. Lydia is always looking out for him to avoid him back at school for he always finds his way back to her. Lydia doesn't really know why that boy used to have fun scarring the wit out of her. She had thought he might have wanted to befriend her but he disappointed her by declining her saying she wasn't her level.
She felt bad back then because she had thought he might be different from the others. She was thinking that, he didn't want the other students to know he was friends with her and maybe that was why he used that method in order to be around her. But she was very wrong. Who was she to befriend someone like Ayaan? He's the son of a billionaire from Italy who was staying there in Africa for the meantime. Ayaan was no different from the others. He had joined hands with Irene. Lydia didn't know how she had offended Ayaan.
She couldn't take it any longer, so she confronted him, cause it doesn't make sense to hold grudge on someone with no particular reason. "I'm doing all these for Irene because I like her." he had said. Somehow Lydia felt disappointed with his answer. All this while, he had been doing things for Irene just to get the good side of her and she was thinking he was finding means to befriend her. "Ayaan, Irene is just using you." "No she's not cheap like you." Ayaan said to her face. Lydia burst out crying for those sharp words. He had got her wrong. "What?, were you thinking I was after you, dream on Love-tus-cheeks ."
Lydia used to blush whenever she heard that nickname from him but at that moment, she felt terrible because then, the name wasn't what she thought it meant.
That was one of the many nicknames he had used to call her and that name was what he frequently used to call her. He called her that name because of her cute round shiny cheeks. He was doing all that for Irene? she thought. She felt humiliated infront of the students passing by and those that had gathered around them, She could see Irene among the crowd smiling. From that moment, she lost hope of thinking that she might ever find a friend apart from Maria who was away. Lydia ran home that day to cry in her mother's arms.
Lydia got to the restaurant kitchen and along with the chefs they prepared all the dishes that were ordered. Lydia never ceased to amaze the head chef at the kitchen, an old talented cook. Uncle David the head chef has always admired the young talented girl in his kitchen. She has this passion and vibes around her whenever she's cooking. She has this one thing that girls now adays lack. "Respect ". He's just wondering how an obedient and calm girl like her could end up having children at a very young age but then he wouldn't judge people like Lydia no matter what. There must be more to her situation.
