Chapter Thirty: Future is a Mystery

My nose starts to tickle my eyes as Tala's face is right in front of me.

"You okay, Ria?" she asked.

I got up from the couch and realized we were still in the library. I rubbed my nose, trying to get the smell out. "What did you give me?"

"Lola Rosa's concocted remedy," my best friend smiled, revealing a small case with a translucent gooey substance. 

I learned and took a whiff making me whimper. Because of being half werewolf, my nose is a bit sensitive. "That is strong."

"Of course, it is," Tala closed the case. "It's Vicks."

"Vicks!" I gasped. "You said it's Lola Rosa's remedy?"

"Well, it's everyone in the family remedy."

I groaned and sat up. 

I know what Vicks is. My family and I don't use it because we don't get sick like humans, but they use it for congestion or anywhere needed. I've seen it at stores and pharmacies. 

"Now you're awake. How are you holding up?"
