It's temporary

When Feng Huang was already far away Levi crashed down with me in his arms. His always stoic face was pained, crying without tears.

Turning my position in his lap he made me face him and then he held my face and dried my tears that kept falling.

"What do we do, Levi?" Semion asked.

Levi didn't break eye contact with me and kept silent as if he was thinking what to do.

"Shouldn't we help Ishid? Let's go to the witch doctor!" I said looking up at Semion who was still looking at Levi to know what to do.

Levi exhaled loudly and stood up helping me do the same, he looks lost.

I don't know if he is strong enough to defy Feng Huang but from the look in his face he is probably thinking of a way to turn around the situation.

"He's a soul beast, that level of injury is nothing."

"But it can get infected without treatment!"

He looked at Semion and gestured with his chin for him to take care of this.

Semion hesitant transformed into a tiger and left with Ishid towards the city.

Levi was pacing back and forth as if hacking his brain to think of something.

"Levi... how could he win against Ishid if he doesn't have any rings?"

"... he's a immortal."

It means he don't die? He really talks like a grandpa so it is because he is really old... I feel scammed.

"What is a immortal?"

"It's the true final level of cultivation, breaking through is almost impossible... but not to a phoenix."

"He is a phoenix?"

Levi exhaled and looked at the sky.

"They are stingy." He said playfully, making me giggle.

He stretched out his hand for me to hold and together we went into his room. He closed the door behind us and sat on the bed first, patting his thighs gesturing that he wanted me to sit and so I did.

"Phoenix is probably the strongest species there is, but only after they mature, phoenix hatchlings die with a flick of the wind, pregnancy is hard as well so only a few survive."

We kept looking at each other eyes trying to calm down, is scary being snatched away by Feng Huang after witnessing what he is capable of.

But I don't want the same thing to happen again.

"Will I be back?"

Levi closed his eyes, a sigh left his lips then opened one eye.

"Master is probably mad at Ishid reaction. Master never cared about the well being of females."

Levi started playing with my hair, looking like he wanted to ask something but can't find the right words, it may be about what happened yesterday.

He opened his mouth just to close again... is he anxious?

Raised my hands to touch the middle of his brows that were frowning.

"What is it?"

He exhaled loudly and linked our foreheads with closed eyes.

"What... happened yesterday?"

I explained everything to Levi, how I noticed they playing tug with me, how I suspected that they were hiding something from me and that I knew their hidden motives.

He stood still hugging me with our foreheads together but occasionally he would get tense.

Then I told him that to clear my mind I tried to take a walk alone but then met Feng Huang. And that I told him how it was every day life here and that I wanted to see the city in which he extended an invitation to take me.

"But I think Ishid heard everything and got really mad thinking that I was leaving with Feng Huang."

"... me too."

"You too?"

"Accept me too."

'Is he talking about being my mate?'

Before I could say anything he kissed me.

Holding the back of my head he inhaled deeply, electric shocks ran through my body making me tremble. Seeing my reaction he licked my lower lip asking for permission to deepen the kiss to which I obliged opening my mouth.

Both being inexperienced we were guided by instinct as we twisted our tongues exploring this new sensation.

His hands caressing the exposed sides of my body were rough, his kiss was imposing making me surrender to his advances.

"Haa what should I do, bunny?" He said after suddenly breaking up the kiss, I noticed that there was something poking my thigh.

"Will I stay there forever?"

"Probably no, he's trying to teach us a lesson, he will get bored in a few days and bring you back."

"Then what is the problem?"

Levi groaned and rested his head on my shoulder to nuzzle his face in my neck.

"Too long."

With his face still buried on my neck he wrapped his arms over my arms and squeezed me.

"I don't want to wait that long to make you mine."

I laughed at the scene, his body was showing his desire but he was able to control himself. I don't know what would happen if he became my mate before I left.

For a moment I even thought that it was a way out of this situation. If one of them is my mate then Feng Huang wouldn't separate us... right?

But seeing Levi so reluctant it probably isn't a good idea, Feng Huang is feisty and it could come through as defiance.

"Where is he taking me?"

"Hm, either the temple or the high coast."

"There is a temple? Religion exist here?"

"What do you mean?"
