Weaver Grand Resident, Building C606,
Riley returned home with his mother and still feeling a bit dazed.
After enduring nearly two hours of scolding at school, he couldn't help but wonder what would have happened if the teacher's scolding hadn't been interrupted.
Riley washed his face twice in the bathroom, examining his face in the mirror. His features were quite delicate, identical to how he looked in his previous life. The only difference was that he was younger, with a slightly chubby face, retaining a hint of baby fat.
"Come out for dinner," his mother's voice echoed from the living room.
"I'm coming," Riley replied, washing his face once more in silence.
In the living room, his mother, Yelena, cast a sharp glance at him. "The food is getting cold. I just heated it. Eat quickly."
In many ways, the original host had a family quite similar to his own. Both of his parents looked alike and were single parents.
However, in the original body case, his father, William, hadn't disappeared or passed away prematurely.
They had simply divorced when the original host was three years old and William had remarried again that year and even had a son who was now 14 years old.
It was quite intriguing...
Perhaps, knowing that he owed his mother, he had left the child and the house to her when they divorced.
Her mother, Yelena, hadn't remarried again. She made money alone and raised Riley by herself.
Fortunately, she can make a living as an E-level Beast Tamer with her Spirit Beast: a Furhound and a Dovestruk.
On the regular days, she earned money by renting her Spirit Beast out for joyrides in the sky, Which ensures a comfortable and affluent life.
Life hadn't turned her into a middle-aged woman with wrinkles, but rather, she had become a resilient woman, strong both inside and out.
Riley could deeply relate to this.
His mother had endured two hours of harsh criticism from his teacher today, and she still refrained herself from scolding him when they got home. That was true strength!
However, Riley knew it wasn't entirely her fault. The Beast Tamer Codex was stuck in his brain domain, and he hadn't made a contract with any of the Spirit Beasts yet. Without a visit to the Beast Tamer Center for confirmation, they couldn't prove he had awakened independently.
Riley ate his dinner in silence, hesitant to speak. Although his mother was a strong woman, he couldn't be certain she'd remain strong forever.
"Take a day off tomorrow. I'll take you to the Beast Tamer Center," his mother said, looking at him.
Riley was taken aback. "Why go to the Beast Tamer Center?"
"You said you've already awakened independently, right? We need to get a confirmation and certificate before we can choose a Spirit Beast at the Spirit Beast Breeding Base," his mother explained.
Since he had awakened, it was better to choose a Spirit Beast as early as possible.
Riley was shocked. "Mom, You believe me?"
