The Lizard

The streets were buzzing with people enjoying the cool air of the night, the occasional honks from the cabs on the streets.

This scene was soon broken by Batman flying out of the ground followed by a giant green Lizard. The people were stunned for a moment but a scream woke everyone up as they began screaming whilst running for their lives.

Bats back had slammed into a cab, siting up the sight of the Lizard releasing a roar came into his sights. The lizard's amber eyes locked on to him and pounced at him, missing as Batman rolled away .

Angry, he rushed at Batman once more swiping at him but Bats nimbly moved around him jumping on his back and grabbing at his neck as the lizard tried to shake him.

The lizard rampaged as he tried to shake him off destroying some cars and parts of the street in the process. ROAR! he let out another roar but was silenced by Batman placing tear gas in the lizards mouth causing him to choke and tears to appear in his eyes.

Taking advantage of his predicament Batman rushed in delivering a few hits, but just as he was about to land another hit on the lizard's jaw a green flash appeared in the corner of his eye, before his was sent into a post by the Lizards tail.

The members of the court broke into cheers as they saw that scene. Norman with his glass at hand had a wide grin on his face he knew when this was done he would have lots of people lining up to buy his serum.

The lizard rushed at Batman ready to take a bite of him but got a mouth full of metal as Batman used the broken post before he could get used to the pain in his mouth, he felt something around his neck.

Batman wrapped his grappling hook around the lizard and then threw him into a cab across the street causing an explosion.

The members of the court watching became silent instantly. Norman crushed the glass in his hands with his eyes frosty, some of the other members had their eyes wide open.

They could not believe the sight before their eyes, how the Batman made what he did look so effortless, at that moment a terrifying thought appeared in their minds, was the Batman truly human or was he like the rumors say a demon.

With that thought shivers went down their spines.

Batman walked to the Lizard with steady steps, a claw quickly came at him but moving to the side he dodged it and put a batarang in his hand.

The Iizard let out a roar of pain but that was merely the begining of it's nightmare. Batman became like a shadow sticking to him landing hit after hit and leaving wounds with his batarangs .The lizard tried to resist but was unable to land a single hit.

Batman appeared before him causing him to let out a roar of rage about to charge at him but a beeping sound caused him to come to a halt, *beep*beep*beep* BOOM* AAAARRGH!!

the lizard let out a scream of pain as his right hand was blown up.

At that moment the Batman appeared in his sight once more walking to him steadily at this point every cell in his body was screaming for it to get away from the demon before him.

Wasting no time he made a mad dash and escaped through the sewers. Batman watched him escape before looking up at a space not far from him.

At this point the members of the court broke out in cold sweat as the Batman was staring right at them which shocked them as they were positive their drone was impossible to be discovered but here they were with the Batman staring right at them wasting no time they withdrew the drone.

Batman felt himself being watched but was busy dealing with the lizard but now he had time they were quick to escape.

At the batcave Batman had arrived and moved straight to his computer to locate at the tracker he slipped on the Lizard.

"sir we need to talk", Sebastian walked in at this moment. "not now Sebastian I need to track down the lizard." "this is about the lizard" Batman came to a halt and turned to look at Sebastian.

"Not long after your parents died and you left, I began an organization. Calling on old friends of mine, I founded the court. The aim of the court was to reduce crime by controlling the underworld of the city but like a wise man once said proximity to power corrupts" Batman interrupted "what are you getting at?"

"The court considers you an uncontrollable factor and now wants to eliminate you" "Sebastian don't tell me your court sent the lizard after me" Batman spoke his tone slowly turning cold " the court did but..." "no!"

Batman stopped Sebastian, "no buts,I trusted you, you are the only family I have left in this world. how could you, you lied to me for years. You watched me put on this suit and go out there, day after day, fighting for this city and you said nothing."

"Jeffery..." "no, I don't want to speak to you right now." with those words Batman walked out the batcave.
