Chapter 18: They are so dead

"How can you be so shameless? I thought after your so-called "Boss" got beat up, you'd learn some manners… Instead, you actually dare to talk back?"

Kanae had an eerie smile on her face.

Miao shivered, whispering to Ed,"They are so dead…"

Ed lit a candle for these idiots in his mind.

One of the men, who had an eyepatch on yelled, "Don't be scared men! She can't challenge all of us together. Let's group up and teach her a lesson."

"Yeah! She wants money? As if!!"

"Yoooo, let's gooo!"

"F*ck this b*tch!!"

Rather than cowering from fear, like all the men were expecting, Kanae only smirked, "You all really don't have shame at all. Five burly men coming after a small girl?! Tsk, tsk, where are your manners?! Never mind, this junior of yours will willingly teach you a few manners."

Her blonde hair swished under the light, glinting as dawn broke.

A burly man pounced upon her. In a flash, she broke the wrist of the man holding her, and the guy howled in pain. The other men all stood frozen in shock. This weak girl had actually been able to hurt the most physically strong man on their team as well?!

The burly man was livid after having his wrist broken. He winced and whined as he spat out an order in between his painful wails, "Men, what are you all waiting for?! Kill her!"

"Let's attack!" The goons shouted in unison and then they all rushed to attack Kanae at the same time. Kanae only removed her bag from her shoulder and stretched her hands and legs. Before the men could do anything, she leapt towards the guy on the ground.

Stomping on the unprepared eye-patch man's back, Kanae made him lie down with his stomach touching the ground and his nose now bloody. Kanae didn't stop there, as she began pulling back on the burly man's arms. His arms made a resounding crack, clearly audible in the alley. Blood curdling screams were heard soon after.

The burly man fainted from the pain and frustration.

The other men were terrified!

"This brat's not normal! Weapons and mana! Let's get her!"

"Everyone team up, lock her legs down with a spell and she's ours!"

"Kill her!"

A flash of light appeared, targeting Kanae to lock her down. The remaining goons rushed to attack Kanae, but were only thrown out of the way casually. She easily dodged the spell attack. When one of them tried to stab her with a knife, he found his finger cut off by his own knife! There was blood gushing out of the wound, as he screamed in pain pathetically. Tears were rolling from his eyes and mixed with the snot from his nose as it dripped down his face.

Distracted by the blood, Kanae watched in fascination for some time. However, she was forced back to reality when she heard a gunshot rang out in the background.

Suddenly, her body was attacked from the behind and she was almost knocked off of her feet. Time seemed to slow down in that instant. Her shoulder experienced a searing pain as a bullet engraved itself in her skin. Kanae hissed, visibly in pain, and almost dropped down to her knees.

However, who was Kanae?

This kind of wound was not a big deal for a girl like her!

Kanae spun around to find the one who shot her. With bloodshot eyes and a mad look, she rushed forward to attack the man. Scared silly, the man fired his gun again! However, Kanae avoided a straight path and successfully dodged the fired shot. The man was panicking. What the hell was this girl? Why did she seem bulletproof?

Now frantic, he started shooting bullets in random directions. In his panic, he killed two of the goons and wounded a few more.

Coincidentally, Kanae was shot once more! This time, her leg was hit.

She simply had no way to avoid it because of the man's wild firing. It was just that being shot again only caused her to become more angry! Kanae reached the man with blood thirsty eyes. Killing intent was permeating from the entire area.

"Good. Very good!You actually dared shoot me!? Now, get ready for your punishment," Kanae's voice had reached an unnaturally high pitch as she drop kicked the man in his abdomen, crushing his core! She walked up and snatched the gun from the trembling man, while taking out a handkerchief.

With a cruel smirk on her face and eyes that confessed her madness, Kanae spoke only one word, "Die."

Kanae dropped the hammer on the revolver and blasted a hole through the man's head. Afterwards, she carefully and thoroughly cleaned the blood off the gun with a torn cloth. She had quite a strong OCD when it came to these things.

The last man fell onto the ground lifelessly, blood and brain matter leaking onto the ground. Kanae had made sure no one was conscious before she had made the kill. Afterwards, she placed the gun in the man's hand once more, and fixed up his posture. It almost seemed like he had killed himself.

After all, wasn't that why she shot the b*stard from the side of his head and not the front?! No one would ever connect a weak little girl to this situation.

With a sigh, Kanae picked up another gun and all the money from the ground. Her teeth gritted in pain as her shoulder and leg stinged and oozed blood constantly.

"Damn, bullet shots are no joke. I couldn't believe that guy almost killed me! Next time, I'll be more vigilant," grumbled Kanae through gritted teeth.

That was when she froze.

She had completely forgotten that she wasn't on Earth like before…

All her smart thinking to cover up the murders was of no use. This world didn't care about deaths at all. Most importantly…

She turned around and sneaked a glance at the couple. Both looked stunned, staring at her and then at the bodies on the ground. The look of bewilderment on their faces was evident.

Kanae smiled sheepishly.

"Teehee."

Teehee?!?!

Ed and Miao tried their best not to facepalm and simply picked up whatever they felt was necessary for their future travels from the dead bodies.

Poor Miao even looked a little pale at the sight of so much blood.
