Chapter 42: World Peace III

...........

She could only hear Silver's ever so calm words as she fell into his arms, "I have many questions, but you may rest well for now." And that she did.

Umbrella brought the World peace so it could heal quickly, but didn't get rid of danger entirely as they wanted some of humanity's brave to venture into the most dangerous places to grow.

Umbrella wants Earth's people to act as a distraction while they work on figuring out the purpose of the game and how to break it, for as Silver said long ago, his purpose was never to fairly play the game.

Yet that wasn't the end of Umbrella's plans, or specifically, Silver's plans. Their next plan was to repair Earth's artificial satellites and reignite the World, getting rid of the dark age.

And Umbrella happened to have the means to do so as they occasionally send invites to interesting awakeners, ones who would fit right in Umbrella, some with abilities that are very useful.

That's all for later as Silver focused on the present, "Good morning." He said.

"Mmm," Natalia hummed as a response, slowly opening her eyes as she found her body to be difficult to control, "How long? How long was I out?"

"Seven days, three more days than Crystal," The process of becoming a Demigod, Silver of course knows a lot about as he talked to Crystal about it in detail.

Crystal is the first person he knows to have entered the Tomb of Gods, gaining the Godhood of Ice, and just like Natalia, she also passed out for days, although a few days less than Natalia.

Silver theorized before that it's some kind of adaptation process as the Godhood transformed their bodies and souls, something confirmed by his thorough observation of Natalia across the past week.

And he felt it, divinity running through her veins, smoothly reshaping her every cell and every nook and cranny of her soul, painting it with the gorgeousness of Divinity.

"I saw no side effect of the inheritance so far," Silver murmured before asking, "How do you feel."

"Alive," Natalia murmured as she closed her eyes, releasing bursts of thin white energy that went on to coil around itself to form threads, "Godhood of Strings. That's what I was granted."

"Strings? Not threads?" Silver's eyes gleamed as he stroked his chin, "Words... That seems to be the basis of every Godhood. That's why so many strange Godhoods are out there, and your word is String, representing control over everything String... Well, if the String Theory turns out to be true, then you might just be able to control everything."

"Hehehe, I know, right?!" Natalia became energetic out of nowhere for she also realized the implications and the limitless possibilities of her Godhood.

Silver said it well, Words are the basis of every Godhood. Becoming a God, as far as he knows, is simply gaining authority over a Word.

And Umbrella's eyes everywhere had already found many Demigods, their Godhood always related to their ability, most often strengthening it to a ridiculous degree, sometimes even broadening the horizon of their abilities significantly, enabling them to achieve miraculous feats.

So in theory, every single word known to the creatures of existence can become a Godhood, and every word has power as Umbrella discovered something new after some experiments.

Umbrella found that spelling the name of your ability before releasing it makes it either easier to use, stronger, or both. The new universe they found themselves in is quite strange.

That brings us back to Natalia's Godhood, Strings. String theory is a theoretical framework in physics that aims to provide a unified description of all fundamental forces and particles in the universe, including gravity, by representing particles as tiny vibrating strings rather than point-like particles. It is an attempt to reconcile two major branches of modern physics: quantum mechanics and general relativity.

Therefore, Natalia, if she gains complete authority over the word String, might be able to control everything that's composed of strings, and in theory, that should be everything... In theory.

"Ah, I'm so happy," Natalia murmured as she sat up, letting out a yawn before gently saying, "I'm really thankful I've met you and followed you till now."

"Why are you acting as if this is the end?" Silver raised a brow as he chuckled, "It's only the beginning... Maybe you'll follow me to the ends of time."

"Aw, so romantic! Certainly didn't expect that from the great Silver," Natalia chuckled as she said, but his words certainly were intended to be romantic despite coming off as such... She knows him too well.

"Am I so great? I wonder," Silver muttered under his breath, but Natalia's sensitive ears heard him loud and clear.

"No, the greatest," Said Natalia.

"Certainly not," Silver shook his head, "That's a question that would only be known when I meet the so called Gods."

"Why are you comparing yourself to the Gods as a mortal?" Natalia eyed him strangely as if eyeing the strangest of monsters.

"Well, who else can I compare myself to?" Silver asked with genuine curiosity.

"Umm..." Natalia remained silent, really unable to think of anyone to compare him to.

"Stand up and put on some clothes," Silver instructed, "It's time to test your prowess... New York doesn't welcome uninvited visitors."

Natalia's eyes shone with brilliance as she nodded, excitement surging in her veins to the point that she cared not for the fact that she was naked.

'Shameless,' Silver shook his head before tracing his fingers along his neck, even clutching it, tightly so, 'Just what's this feeling? What's choking me all the time? So uncomfortable.'

Silver couldn't help but close his eyes as he took a deep breath, one he didn't need but dearly felt like it, 'Is it the Unknown? Is something unknown to my comprehension looking at me? I feel my fear.'

Fear is certainly not an alien emotion to Silver. It's his friend that accompanied him throughout his life... Silver's actions might say otherwise, but he has always been a coward who easily feels fear, yet he never tried to fight it... For fear is his friend, especially the fear of the Unknown.

So much pressure, Silver feels. None of which he shows, keeping his lips and mind sealed. However, with all those negative emotions come the opposite, positive emotions to balance things out.

Silver could feel, the ever-growing happiness and satisfaction of knowing that he had defeated one of his fears, the Malignant Cancer. The satisfaction that comes from finding himself in this wonderful new World with limitless possibilities.

The hope and the confidence in himself keep his mind alive, always opposing all those negative emotions for he believes that he can live to the ends of times and beyond.

All of that pressure and negative emotions come from his high aspirations, from his nigh impossible purpose, perfection... That's a pressure a few feel, yet the group of uninvited visitors also feel it.

No, they felt something so much worse as they stepped into the dead city of New York, feeling a chill going down their spine as they eyed its dark buildings and clean roads.

Every other city in the World experienced catastrophe after catastrophe, leaving them in rubbles amidst the remains of the dead.

Not New York as it seemed to have been cleaned very recently, not a speck of dusk left behind, nor any speck of blood... Only silence.

"Oh, God!! may you grant us your blessing in this vile city!! May you grant us light to see all evil in the World, and bring Salvation to those who seek it and those who do not!!!"

The prayer spread far and wide, and with it came light. They are people of a different World, yet even they see the oddity of the City for their World also suffers from a Plague that brought down most of their cities.

Their prayers were heard as light surrounded them, bringing light to the dark city, and giving them guidance to where they were out to go.

"The City reeks of evil, Lord Yosel!" The group consisted of many knights, all clad in silver armor, followed by a group in white robes, and leading them was a middle-aged man, also adorned in armor.

"The prophecy led us here! So here we go!" Lord Yosel took a step forward, his rough face solemn but not a sliver of hesitance was in his golden eyes.

"Shall we not call for reinforcement?" A knight by his side asked, gulping down in nervousness.

"The World suffers from the plague of death... Are we not the bearers of light? The dead can only fall before us," Lord Yosel shook his head, "There is no danger he..."

Lord Yosel's words came to a halt as his eyes widened, getting into a battle stance as he looked around in alarm, "Who!!! Show your face you evil dead!!!"

"Wha?"

"Where!"

The Knights and their fellowship were alarmed as they looked around. No one was there. They could only wait for their Lord to explain, "I sense it!!! Their eyes!! Looking at us from everywhere!!!"

Lord Yosel was unaware that what he was searching for lay beneath his feet, down underground... Millions... Tens of Millions of the Dead!! All looking in his direction ominously, feeling his repulsive light!!!
