The Awakened Feels... Something New

For a being like the Awakened, it would take time before he could understand the inexplicable thing called pride!

And seeing Seth giving him a dead face. The feeling that lit up inside him shut down and he walked up the stairs alongside Seth.

As the two stepped over to the second floor.

They could see about 8 Goblins doing their things around the passage lit up by torches on both sides- the torches seemed to be inexhaustible as they failed to show any signs of dying out.

The Awakened smiled and a desire arose inside him.

He stepped forward- catching the attention of the 8 Goblins and screamed, "Grrr!"

The Goblins got confused- wondering why two zombies had wandered over to the second floor.

The nearest Goblin walked over while roaring toward the two zombies, "Gaa!"

Seeing no response, the Goblin's head leaned to the side. His confusion grew, "Gaaaa?!"

The Goblin frowned and stood right in front of the Awakened and bared its fangs, "Gahhh!!"

The Goblin, in the Awakened's eyes, looked like a helpless zombie in front of Seth, and imitating him, the Awakened gripped the dagger and hurled it into the Goblin's throat.

The dagger swiftly pierced through the Goblin's skin and slit its windpipe.

"Gigigi!" The Awakened rejoiced as he felt he had succeeded in imitating Seth perfectly. The strange thing once again arose in the Awakened's chest and he looked at Seth.

Seth, sensing the gaze, stared back. "..."

[Congratulations! You have killed a weak Goblin! You have received 10 EXP!]

The Awakened's attention was drawn over by the notification and the rest of the 7 Goblins had also snapped out of their daze.

Their panic instantly shot through the roof, as they started to converse hectically in their strange Goblin language.

After the debate was over, the Goblins grew resolute and charged over toward the two intruders- marking them as targets to be... exterminated.

Seth felt the desire to fight appear inside the Awakened and used his talent to rush ahead.

The Awakened stared at Seth's back dumbly and then... took a step forward.

"Grr!" A smile appeared on top of the Awakened's face and he ran behind Seth.

His speed was even higher than Seth's- allowing him to overtake him soon and be the one to confront the Goblins.

Seeing the small creatures who barely reached up to his chest bare their fangs at him, the Awakened's body trembled from exhilaration.

He grabbed his dagger tightly and pierced it into one of the Goblin's throat.

Meanwhile, Seth sneaked up behind one of the Goblins and choked him to death.

Two notifications instantly appeared in front of the Awakened.

[Congratulations! You have killed a weak Goblin! You have received 10 EXP!]

[Congratulations! Seth has killed a weak Goblin! You have received 5 EXP!]

As the Awakened fell into a daze seeing the notifications, Seth choked another Goblin, causing a new notification to pop up in front of the Awakened.

"Grr!" The Awakened exclaimed in surprise and finally noticed the 4 Goblins punching at him.

Without thinking much, the Awakened pierced his dagger into one of the Goblin's bald head- ending it.

On the other side, Seth, like a true assassin, claimed another life.

And a notification appeared in front of the Awakened.

[Congratulations! Your level has increased to 3!]

[Congratulations! Seth has leveled up to 1!]

Suddenly both he and Seth felt their powers increase.

"Grrr!" The Awakened grinned, seeing the two Goblins were still struggling, he slashed forward.

But much to his dismay, he didn't feel the euphoric feeling of growing stronger. But he did feel somewhat good from the EXP he received.

Seth dispatched the other Goblin as the Awakened pondered upon the taste of growing stronger.

He closed his eyes for a long while and from deep inside him, he felt a word buried within him come to his tongue, "Tus-ty!"

"Gigigigi!" Following the Awakened's hysterical laughter, a notification appeared in front of him.

[Congratulations! You have cleared the second floor! Proceed to the third floor to progress your quest!]

The Awakened smiled in satisfaction and climbed up the stairs to the third floor.

On the third floor, there were 5 zombies and 5 Goblins. But the Goblins were holding weapons- crude wooden clubs. They almost looked like weak wooden branches, in pure honesty.

The Awakened chuckled seeing the monsters and ordered Seth to dispose of the Zombies.

But when Seth appeared behind the zombies without them realizing his presence, unlike before, since he didn't possess his dagger anymore, he squeezed the zombie's neck- Trying to choke it to death!

But the Zombie realized what was happening and groaned, "Grrrr!"

The five Goblins, giggling while sitting near the stairs to the next floor looked back, along with the rest of the four Zombies.

Seeing the strangers, and the racket the two zombies were making, the five Goblins swaggered over holding their clubs in hand, ordering the zombies to charge over as well.

The zombies complied and started to slowly walk over. Their speed was truly terrible.

But the Awakened wasn't bothered by the monsters much and was confused about what Seth was doing. Couldn't he kill the zombies in a jiffy? So what was he doing?

The Zombie struggled and constantly slammed his elbow into Seth's chest.

Seth- still prone to pain, couldn't hold on for long and let go.

By then, the Goblins had walked over as well.

Seth seeing the Goblin approach him and growl at him- shifted targets.

He activated his Talent and sneaked behind the Goblin and instantly squeezed his neck between his arms.

The other Goblins growled and started slamming their clubs into Seth's back.

But Seth turned around and used the Goblin's body to defend against the attacks.

In a short while, Seth heard a click from the Goblin's neck and let go, settling his sight on another Goblin.

But the Awakened was still busy contemplating why the Zombie hadn't died.

And suddenly an urge surfaced inside him- the urge to imitate Seth.

As he rushed toward the zombie, he felt a strange power envelop him- causing his speed to increase and his presence to weaken.

[Ding! To maintain 'Stealth', 5 mana will be consumed per minute.]

The Awakened didn't bother with the notification and sneaked behind the zombie and like Seth, pierced the dagger through the zombie's rotten chest. A clinking sound appeared and the zombie collapsed on the floor.

[Congratulations! You have killed a weak zombie! You have received 8 EXP!]

"Grr!" The Awakened grinned and his eyes squeezed together in glee as he eyed the rest of the 4 zombies.

And, by the time, he rushed towards his next prey, Seth disposed of another Goblin and went on for his third prey.

With a light clink, another zombie fell causing the tingling feeling inside the Awakened to thicken. His glare shifted towards another zombie.

Seth threw away another dead Goblin corpse and lunged at the other two who had started to panic already.

Seeing Seth constantly killing more and more zombies, his brows arched down, "Grrr!" ...He didn't like it. The Awakened gritted his teeth instinctively and withdrew his dagger, his eyes searching for another instrument to perform his melody upon. Something strange seemed to be compelling him- rushing at him- driving him to feel... anger!
