Darkness

Before i knew it, i was conscious again but all i saw was darkness. Recalling my assumed death, i felt grateful that i died swiftly without much suffering. Looking at the darkness again, i wondered why i could still think or even had a consciousness.

Maybe this is my soul form? Hmm probably not since i don't see anything that could remotely resemble souls around here. Only the darkness.

I continued to ponder on my current situation when it dawned on me. Perhaps... i was being reincarnated by god!? OH! Then this must be some kind of waiting room where god appears and tells me what i'm reincarnating as and where. Classic isekai stuff. I watched so much of this genre that i could guess how this was going down.

This realisation got me excited for what was to come and i started fantasizing about all kinds of thing i could do in a world with swords and magic. I hoped that i could get a hot elf girlfriend and finally lose my virginity. I imagined myself as a buff spell slinging overlord, fighting armies of beasts and demons on my own while dual wielding a staff and a sword. I drooled in my mind as i thought of all the possibilities that were to come.

This continued until i ran out of things to imagine. Seriously? How long was this god going to keep me waiting!? i'm going to be bored out of my mind if imagining my future success is all i can do.

COME ON.

I want to get out there and get to work.

HELLOOOOOOOOO!?

Ok then screw you too god. Thanks for sealing me in this space. Appreciate it bud.

OK! Know what? I shall just find my own way out! I took a quick look around trying to find anything but darkness but to no avail. I started trying all sorts of things like attacking the space with my mind but it obviously didn't work. I was brainstorming other unorthodox ways to break out of the space when i felt the space itself being moved.

Eh? Is god finally coming to meet me? About time! I had alot of complaints but i should probably refrain from being rude to god. Probably not the brightest idea to anger a god for taking their time. They probably had many other better things to do than guide an unfortunate soul who was stuck in some dark space for who knows how long. Right!? Right!?

Contrary to my expectations, the space became still again and i did not see any sign of a god coming.

...

DAMMIT! THIS PIECE OF SHIT GOD IS JUST TEASING ME NOW! IS THIS MY PUNISHMENT FOR NOT BELIEVING IN GOD WHEN I WAS STILL ALIVE!? WELL I'M SORRY THEN ITS NOT LIKE THERE WAS ANY PROOF OF GOD'S EXISTENCE WHEN I WAS STILL ALIVE! UGH FORGET IT I WILL JUST TRY AND SOMEHOW SLEEP THIS FRUSTRATION AWAY!

------------‐----------------------------------------------------

And i'm awake! How did i even fall asleep when i don't have a body? Whatever, not important. First things first, i need to find a way outta here.

"-irp"

hmm? Am i hearing things now?

"-eet"

Ok i am definitely hearing something. Hold up, i can hear? Either that or i'm losing my mind.

"KAW KAW KAW"

Thats a whole lot of bird noises but where are they coming from? Now that i think about it this dark space feels kind of cramp like im barely small enough to fit. I feel a sudden urge to break out of the dark space as i try to move and felt as if i had a body again albeit feels a bit strange. I try to reach out with what i assumed to be my arms but they felt too weak. I could barely move them and it was the same case for my legs. The only body part i could move normally was my head so i tried to headbutt the dark space. Before my head could contact what was the edge of the dark space, i felt my...mouth? hit first. That was when i heard a crack and blinding light lit up the dark space. I continued to peck my way out until my head was finally out of what used to be the dark space.

I could barely see and i had to wait until my vision could adjust so all i saw was a large shadowy figure looming over me.

God is that you? When i tried to talk all that came out was a soft tweet. Confused, all i could do was wait until my vision could adjust to the overwhelming brightness of light but nothing could prepare me for what i was about to lay my new eyes on next.
