First Skill Book Acquired

While the other Bards were rearranging the chairs and table to their former positions, Luke discovered Armen putting the Double Bass back into his inventory.

Luke teased, "Armen my 'dearest' friend, your best friend has come to collect the rewards."

When Armen saw Luke's conduct, he sighed, not expecting anything good from this damn bastard of a brat. He took out a skill book from his Inventory, which shined green in color, and stated, "Here you go."

Color of skill books according to grade:

1. Common = Yellow

2. Uncommon = Green

3. Rare = Brown

4. Epic = Gold

5. Legendary = Violet

6. Mythical = Red

7. Divine = Pure White

Note: Unique Grade Skills Books lack color and look like ordinary books.

Luke not taking the skill book directly first decided to cast 'Inspect' on the skill.

As soon as he called out the Inspect skill, a window popped in front of him showing the details of the skill which was on the hand of Armen

Constant Mana Wave

Grade: Uncommon

Continuously playing notes with your weapon using mana will release a wave of mana on every note which upon hitting a target will deal damage about INT X 1.7 per wave.

Cost: 5 MP per wave

Cooldown: 5 seconds

When Luke saw the skill description, he produced the most dissatisfied facial expressions in this new timeline and asked Armen, "What is this shit and why are you giving me this shit?"

Armen, on the other hand, had imagined in his mind how excited Luke would be after receiving his First Skill from him, and how he would act like a big brother giving a gift to his small brother, but seeing such a look on Luke's face, all his plans flushed away like water in a toilet. The first thing that came to mind was, "What is wrong with this damn kid, why is he always doing something no one would expect from him," but upon hearing Luke's initial comment about the skill, Armen said, "What is wrong with this skill?" with a trace of anger in his voice.

Luke was about to explain why he was dissatisfied, but Armen interrupted him, saying, "This skill is higher in grade than the first two skills that every Bard receives, and instead of giving me such a dissatisfied expression you should be grateful to me boy for getting a skill book without even killing those vile monsters."

This time, Luke responded with a heightened voice close to a yell, "Grateful HUH! Grateful This skill, although being of uncommon grade, has significant drawbacks when compared to Common Grade Mana Wave; let's take an example, if I am fighting a group of goblins or rats, the Mana Wave skill can only hit up to three of those monsters in a horizontal line and the knockback effect will work on all three monsters, whereas the Constant Mana Wave skill, because it is less expensive than Mana Wave, will release a shorter wave and will only hit one enemy at a time, but only after hitting twice and three times will it cause the monster to stagger naturally. What about the monsters' friends? Will they wait patiently for me to finish their buddy before attacking? It doesn't function like that in real life when I'm battling a group. There are other disadvantages, for example, I can use hit and run tactic while fighting a group with a Mana Wave, but using hit and run tactic with Constant Mana Wave is less efficient because the damage dealt is less and the skill will go into cooldown because of not hitting the notes, but it has its advantages as well, being one of the best skills out there when fighting a single monster, but I will still prefer Mana Wave over Constant Mana Wave."

"Huff... Huff..." exhaled heavily Luke after providing such a lengthy exposition in a single breath, much like a professor lecturing to his students.

Yup, you should know from this that you should never question a gaming nerd about the games he has played.

"How-w do you know all this without even using the skill once?" questioned Armen in a very startled tone. Ultimately, he was unaware that Luke was a regressor.

Luke feigning ignorance to his shocked reaction just replied " It's a secret but

at least give me a better skill than this one".

Armen not prying any further, knowing everyone has their secrets showed his other empty hand forward, and soon a skill book started forming on his hand.

When Luke witnessed this phenomenon, he immediately responded, "Don't give me something like your inheritance or legacy, just give me a good skill."

"You arrogant brat! It is not an Inheritance; I am neither powerful nor experienced enough to create an inheritance; it is just a skill that I developed in my spare time; therefore, without further ado, choose one of these two; nevertheless, I urge that you choose the first one over this one. I can't give you anything better because anything else would be pampering you, and we can't deprive newbies of their difficulties," Armen answered.

A skill book will be available soon. Armen's hand became greenish brown, and Luke used the 'Inspect' Skill on the book.

Sound Barrier

Grade: Semi-Rare

Producing a sound will combine it with mana that will form a barrier in front of you. The shorter the sound the stronger the barrier.

Cost:10MP

Cooldown:3 sec

Luke, immersed in contemplation "I can see why he prefers Constant Mana Wave over Sound Barrier because the sound is nothing more than a form of energy that moves through a medium as waves and is a frequency, and because the sound does not accumulate like water in an area, it will vanish quickly. That means, if I make a short sound, the barrier will be powerful but will dissipate after approximately 1 second, however, if I make a continuous sound, the barrier will be weak but will persist longer but will disappear after 4 to 5 seconds."

Luke sighed and asked, "Why does everything you give come with a catch, but I'll take Sound Barrier?"

Armen asked, "Are you sure I will still recommend Constant Mana Wave over Sound Barrier because I also don't use this skill usually".

Luke took the Sound Barrier skill book from Armen's hand and said "I am sure about my choice".

"Just don't die on me kid, I don't want someone to die because they didn't understand the fundamentals of the skill I created," Armen said with a hint of sadness on his face.

Luke thought "Even though Armen has a kind of haughty personality he is kind in heart" and replied with a tone of affirmation "Don't worry I have no plan to die not until I reach old age. Haha" not waiting for any further reply, Luke rushed out of the Tavern and went straight to the Adventurer's Guild.

When Armen noticed Luke's figure leaving the Tavern, he mumbled under his breath, "Since we Bards only believe in music and not Gods, I wish from the bottom of my heart that whatever you wish for comes true kid, your talent will reclaim the name of us Bards that we lost long ago."

This chapter might be a very little technical but don't worry grinding level coming soon..
