Kiss Goodbye

"You idiot", I kept on yelling to myself as I walked back to class. I blew my chance at playing tonsil hockey and shooting my goal. Right now, if I don't play my cards right I might play in the substitute position.

I had two more lessons left before sports. I spent most of my time thinking of ways to redeem myself, barely focusing at what the teaching was saying. I knew for a fact that if I took my time with a girl, she'd get bored and move on. I prayed in my heart that Cleo hadn't gotten to that point. The last bell rang, signaling the time for sports. I quickly rushed out of the classroom hoping to find Cleo before it was too late. Along the way I met up with her friend. She stood in my way, holding me back by my chest.

"We've met before but not on good terms. My name is Daphne, Cleo's friend", she said.

I tried to push my way through her as I found no interest in what she had to say.

"I see you're in a rush so let me not waste your time. STAY AWAY from Cleo, she's definitely not your type. Okay", she said that with an evil smile.

Afterwards she let me go. Her words didn't stick to me because I took no threat from them. I continued on my search for Cleo, eventually finding her seated by a bench alone. I sat next to her, gasping for air.

"Are you okay", she asked me.

I took a deep breath in, clearing my throat after.

"I'm sorry, I tend to notice things when it's way too late and I hardly take risks. But of late I've been making a lot of expectations", I tell her.

"What do you mean", she says. But before she can even say another word, I hold the back of her neck, embracing her with a long kiss. The only thought running through my mind is, "please don't push me away"

She instead holds me by my collar, embracing me too. We lock lips for what feels like a whole minute and pull away from each other.

"It's about time" she says. "I was thinking that you were going to be late for another thing"

We both smiled at each other, locking hands together. "Sooo, what does this mean", I ask her.

"I don't know, but I hope it doesn't end here", she says.

"Me too", I reply. We lock eyes for a minute, then she tells me she has to go now, she has a family matter to attend to, so she's leaving school early today.

She gets up and starts to walk away, but before she leaves she gives me one last kiss goodbye.

"See you tomorrow Khahil", she says.

I lay on the bench on my own, smiling like crazy, giving myself high fives.

I ask myself the question, "wait does this mean I'm dating an Avenue Girl"
