[CHAPTER FIVE]

Previously on Avenging Angels

Rose can't seem to get her mind off the blue-eyed dork who she knows nothing about. She ends up being a coffee maker and personal gardener to the ones that made her life miserable. How will Rose use this to her advantage to achieve her long-desired goal?

FIVE

I spotted Helen walking towards the garden,  holding a tray filled with food.

"Hey!" I smiled.

"Hi" she smiled back, the dimples in both cheeks displaying vividly.

"Where are you taking those to?" I asked even though I already knew the answer.

"To the camera room. Anyone in charge of the garden is also in charge of the camera room." She said as she flipped her head to remove a strand of her brown curly hair from her view.

"Let me help you" I moved to take the tray from her hand but she shifted it away from me.

"Thanks but I am already indebted to you for yesterday so I can manage" she was about to leave but I held her back.

Don't make this difficult for me, Helen.

"Let's go together" I suggested and she smiled in response.

We reached a small room which was by the end of the garden, close to the fence.

I knocked and a man with brown messed hair and a lazy grin came into view.

"Breakfast time" I smiled warmly at him.

He stepped aside for Helen and me to enter the small but cozy room.

I quickly analyzed my surroundings. There is a total of five men here. Each was assigned to nine cameras, in total forty-five cameras in this castle.

She dropped the tray at the coffee table and three of the five men started to eat.

"Seeing these beautiful ladies is really nice, compared to being trapped in this room 24/7" a blonde winked at us before stuffing the sandwich into his mouth.

Helen giggled and I just give him a small smile.

We left the room and walked into the mansion through the back door, conversing about our favorite movie.

I looked up, merely viewing the sky when I saw a figure on the balcony watching us or rather me.

I narrowed my eyes and I saw those eyes that I could never mistake anywhere.

Blue eyes.

He grinned at me but I just looked down, ignoring the way my heart raced at his small gesture.

What are you doing to me?

*****

We were in the kitchen, preparing lunch for ourselves.

"Then he was like, would you marry me all of a sudden. I was flabbergasted so I just quickly blurted out, I am married with two kids" Violet said and we all burst into laughter at her failed marriage proposal.

"Why didn't you want to marry him?" Francesca asked as she cleaned the counter.

"Not that I didn't like him or anything but he seemed too out of my league, I mean he had this perfect lifestyle while I was just a maid, you know," she said, looking down at the counter and Francesca squeezed her shoulders.

I turned off the gas cooker, removed the sauce from the pan.

I began to mix the pasta in a huge bowl.

"Looking delicious, Rose" Francesca commented and I smiled.

"Good afternoon, ladies" I heard a voice and I looked up to see the blue-eyed dork in the doorway.

Sarah quickly rushed to his side and bowed.

"You should have called if you needed anything, sir," she said.

"Well, I didn't want to bother you girls so..." he trailed off, looking at me.

I quickly dropped my gaze and continued mixing my pasta.

I felt a presence by my side, I didn't bother looking at him and kept mixing my pasta until the sauce has spread throughout the pasta evenly.

"Looks delicious. Mind giving me some, Rosa?" He asked, emphasizing my shortened name.

How the hell does he know my name?

I was about to snap then I realized we weren't alone so I composed myself.

"Of course. Of course, you didn't even need to ask" Sarah quickly rushed and grabbed a dish to serve him some pasta and pushed me aside.

He smirked, took an apple from the basket, and threw it at me.

I caught it without a sweat.

"Rinse it for me," He asked and when I glared at him, he added.

"Please?" in a very polite tone which made me roll my eyes.

I turned on the tap, rinsed the apple, and threw it back at him.

I took my pasta, pushed the door that took me straight to the maids' quarters, and gave him a smirk before closing the door with my foot.

"Finally. We thought you were cooking for the whole town" Helen took the bowl from my hand and put it on our small table in the lounge.

"Maybe if you helped, we would have finished eating and we would be licking our fingers by now" I retaliated and smirked when she rolled her eyes at me.

I sat down next to Chloe and served myself some salad and pasta, I was about to dig in when I felt a presence next to me.

"Mind if I sit?" Christian asked with a smile and gestured at the empty seat next to me.

"What are you doing here?" I asked and when I felt some eyes boring on me. I quickly added

"Sir?"

"I was feeling too lonely in my room. Would you mind keeping me company, girls?" He asked, adding a pout just to agitate me.

I opened my mouth to reject his offer but Francesca beat me to it.

"Rose. Don't make him stand, just let him sit" she said from across me, giving me a scolding look that reminded me of my elder sister.

I sighed but reluctantly nodded my head and he plopped on the chair next to me.

"Salad please?" He asked me politely just to irritate me.

I gritted my teeth and grabbed the plate from him to put some salad on it but when I turned to give him the plate, I saw him already eating from another plate.

I looked down and realized that it's my plate the motherfudger took.

Inner peace.

Inner peace.

Calm down, you can always kill him when you have finished with your revenge. Not now.

I put down the plate and started eating. As I was about to take my glass of water, he reached for it.

"Sorry, I left mine in the kitchen" he smiled.

What was he so happy about?

Oh, he is irritating me on purpose! That's why.

I groaned under my breath, stood up, and left the room.

I heard his voice laughing with the other girls and I rolled my eyes.

"First he poured water on my leg, might I say on purpose then he took my pasta without my permission again on purpose, and now he took my freaking glass!" I exclaimed, poured myself water, drank it to calm my boiling blood, and poured some more.

"When I lay my hands on his filthy neck, I am gonna strangle it so hard that he won't even have enough time to scream for-" I turned around to leave but was caught by a hard chest smashing into my face.

I looked up to see none other than his famous lopsided smirk.

Oh, great!

"Back off!" I spat but he brought his arms to my sides and rested them on the counter, succeeding in trapping me between the counter and him.

He brought his face close to mine, close enough to feel his hot breath on my nose.

"For someone so pretty, you sure have a loud mouth, Rosa" he whispered, dangerously close to my ear.

"But no worries. It just seems to turn me on" he brought his face to mine, our nose touching dangerously.

I closed my eyes from the sensation his warm breath was bringing all over my body and let out a shaky breath.

I won't let him get what he wants.

"For someone looking so decent, you sure are a twat" I whispered back.

I dropped the cup on the counter and put my hands on his chest to push him away from me but he took my hands in his and rest it on the counter.

He nuzzled his face on my neck and I let out a startled gasp from the way goosebumps filled my skin as his nose touched my neck.

We stayed in that position for as long as it seems.

His face on my neck and I, unable to do anything to push him away.

"You smell so sweet..." he whispered against my neck.

He brought his lips and left a wet kiss on my neck making me moan slightly.

Then we heard a crash.

The cup fell from the counter and landed on the floor, making a loud noise that echoed over the empty kitchen.

He shifted slowly and I took that opportunity to push him away from me.

"What happened here?!" We turned to see Sarah standing in the doorway, her wide eyes looking at us and then at the broken glass on the floor.

"My hand slipped and the cup fell from the counter, no biggie" he smiled, lying smoothly through his teeth.

Sarah looked at me suspiciously but smiled back at Christian before she left after taking a fork.

I bend over to pick the broken glasses and also to hide my flushed face from him.

"We will finish what we started later" he whispered in my ear as a warning before leaving the kitchen and left me in a daze.

I  sat down on the cold floor and rested my head on the counter, I placed my hand on my racing heart and closed my eyes.

For the first time in a while, I felt weak.

*****

"Come on, come on!" Miss Helda's commanding voice rang around the kitchen.

"Rosaline, Chloe, how long will it take you two to slice some fruits?" She shouted at us.

"We literally just started five minutes ago and they are like dozens of fruits to peel" I stated the obvious with a roll of my eyes.

"When I was your age, I would slice all that by myself under three minutes" she looked at me sternly.

"That's not what Mrs. Hatchman told us" I replied and the aforementioned came into the kitchen the right time, making us burst into loud cackles.

"What's so funny?" Mrs. Hatchman asked and the laughter increased.

"Get to work!" Miss Helda's command silenced the room and only the boiling pots could be heard.

We heard a car coming in the driveway and we increased our pace to finish up in the kitchen.

"Quick, quick" Miss Helda rushed us.

We hear the unlocking of the door and Miss Helda told me to go.

I reached the door to see Grayson and his girlfriend, I quickly rushed to take his coat.

"Welcome, sir" I greeted, he waved his hand without bothering to look at my face.

A coat was thrown at me and I narrowed my eyes at the person.

"I have been holding the coat for like an hour, you are so slow" his girlfriend stated and walked away, her lean stature attached to him like a piece of gum.

She sure is a witch.

After all the Bladderworts were in the house, we set the table for dinner.

Midway into dinner, I scrunched my face and held my stomach.

"Miss Helda, I seriously need to go the bathroom" I walked over and told her silently.

She frowned at me and nodded her head.

I quickly walked out of the room and as soon as I stepped out of the room, I straightened up and smirked.

The first mission in action.

When I reached the hallway, close to the kitchen, I hid in a blind spot away from the camera and used the laser in my watch to shut it off.

I did the same for the some other cameras downstairs. Once I made sure they were all dead, I moved to the entrance and hid next to a plant, making sure I was not in sight of the cameras there.

I waited for a few seconds.

3.....

2.....

1.

Three of the cameramen burst through the door and headed towards the hallway where the cameras were shut down.

I took the chance to go through the back door because going through the front door would risk getting caught by the security guards.

Once I was out, I made my way to the garden and hide behind the grasses making sure to hide behind the shadows, not to appear in the surveillance cameras outside.

I made my way to a pole that I am aware is connected to the circuit box inside the house.

That meant if I cut this wire, it will lead to a blackout in every part of the house.

And that's what I was about to do.

I obviously couldn't climb the pole so... I will have to bring it down to me.

I grab a stone from the ground and felt it in my hands. Light enough to reach up high and big enough to cut the connection of the wire from the pole.

I closed one eye and aimed directly at my target, with professional skills, I pushed my weight behind and threw the stone right at the naked wire, and quickly step aside before the wire could touch me.

Darkness.

Everything was dark.

The lights that shone from the windows of the castle or the lights that lit up the neighborhood from the poles surrounding the fence.

Everything was off.

I pressed my two earrings.

"Let the drama begin" I smirked.

I found my way to the camera room with ease despite the bleak darkness. I moved my hand to open the door but someone else beat me to it.

{Inside the Castle}

Shrieks and gasp of surprise filled the dining room. Everyone was in a panic from the unexpected blackout.

"I will go get the candles," Miss Helda said and William followed her, litting the hallway with the flashlight from his phone.

"Shut up!!" Mr. Bladderwort slammed his fist on the table and the previous cries couldn't be heard from Regina anymore.

Grayson was quick to go to his sister's side and held her tight to comfort her.

The cameramen came, rushing into the dining room.

"What the hell is going on?!" Mr. Bladderwort shouted as he saw them.

Avalor stood from her chair and held her husband's shoulder which made him relax a bit.

"What's the problem?" She asked in a calm tone.

"We have no idea, ma'am. The cameras in the hallways went off and as we came to check it, the light suddenly came off" the blonde the leader of them all answered.

"But it's not from the circuit box inside, it should be from the pole outside, sir" the brunette answered.

"Let's go then" Mr. Bladderwort and the cameramen were about to leave but turned back when they heard a loud cry.

"Ouch!!!" Grayson's girlfriend, Bianca cried out of pain from the floor.

"Are you okay?" Grayson asked in concern.

"My leg!!!" She cried and in the process, Mr. Bladderwort's phone fell as she attempted to stand but failed.

"Ouch!!!" She cried even louder.

"It's going to be fine. Let me help you" he helped her to sit.

Mr. Bladderwort touched his pockets then the table.

"Where is my phone?" He exclaimed.

"Sir, should we go and wait for you there?" The blonde asked.

"No, I am coming," he said as he kept looking for his phone.

"Where's William?!" He yelled.

Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Miss Helda kept looking for the candles but surprisingly, couldn't find them.

"Are you sure you kept it here?" William asked as he rummaged the drawer in the counter.

"Very sure, my boy but I just can't seem to find it" she answered.

It almost seemed too perfect.

Mr. Bladderwort couldn't find his phone to call the electrician, Avalor had to stay by her daughter's side so she wouldn't relapse and Grayson was with his girlfriend while William was in the kitchen, looking for candles when he was the only other person that had the electrician's number.

They were all stuck inside the castle, making Rose's plan much easier to accomplish.

{Outside the Castle}

I quickly hid behind the door as it swung open.

Darn it!

They were all supposed to be in a break by now.

I can't risk killing someone, at least not now.

I held my breath as the man stepped out of the room and stretched his long limbs.

"That was a nice sleep" he groaned and cracked his neck before closing the door and headed towards the castle.

I double-checked to see if anyone else was in the room before closing the door behind me.

I quickly went to the UPS. As there was a complete blackout, I couldn't do it directly from the computers and they had no laptops.

I opened it and attached my USB. I turned on my phone,  tap some icons, and connected it.

My sister taught me a trick years ago, I hope it worked.

It started downloading.

I checked the window, no one was outside.

As soon as it showed a green light, I rushed and took the USB.

I smiled wickedly before stepping out of the room.

I had the entire Bladderwort surveillance camera under my control.

First mission accomplished!

Well, well.

This is so far my longest chapter of all. Total 2,848 words.

I don't know but there is something about long chapters that makes me happy.

I may have written some rubbish when she was transferring the files. I am not exactly a technology wizard. Bit you all got the point either way, that's all I needed.

*fanning face* that was some steamy scene in the kitchen.

Comment if you need more.

Bye,

Love from Queen.
