56 [CHAPTER FIFTY THREE]

Previously on Avenging Angels

Rose talks to Willam and finds out what happened that night. She is certain Avalor had a hand in this charade.

FIFTY-THREE

"He won't come down," Violet said with a sigh.

"What is going on with that boy?" Brad asked out loud and stood up, about to leave when Avalor held him back.

"No, honey. Let him be for a while" she said and Brad sat back down.

"You know your son. He likes to be alone when he is having a bad day,"

"Let's start without him," she said.

Everyone at the table started eating breakfast meekly and my eyes were boring into Avalor.

She appeared to be concerned and worried but I know it was all fake. A small, satisfied smile was on her lips as she sipped her juice.

I had no doubt now that she was behind everything that transpired last night.

After breakfast, I went into my room and locked the door.

I took out my phone and dialed Lily's number.

It rang for a few seconds before she picked.

'Hello, Rose,'

"Hey, what's up?" I asked.

'Really bad. I came into her apartment and everything was out of place. She was lying on the floor, belting her eyes out. She won't eat nor talk to me, she just keeps crying. I don't know what to do, I have tried everything I could to calm her down' Lily's worn-out voice said.

"That's awful. I can't say Willam is any better" I sighed.

'What? What happened to them?'

"I don't know but I am sure Avalor did something. William told me Iris was with a guy last night, and he got angry that he even broke up with her"

'He what?!' Lily screeched.

"Lower your voice, you don't want her to hear you. And yes, he told me he ended everything with her last night but to me, I think he just did it in a fit of anger"

'Why would Iris ever cheat on him? He should know better. First, his mother ruins our life and now he is about to make Iris miserable. What on earth did we do to that family?!'

"Lil, calm down. This is not the time for your drama. You need to find a way to calm Iris down, make her eat something. Do whatever you have to do. Meanwhile, I will try to find out about last night"

'But she just won't listen. I don't know what else to do, I couldn't even go to school because of the state she is in'

"She's your sister, she will listen to you. You can call You-Know-Who, she would never reject him" I said, referring to Lorenzo.

'Yeah, I will do that. I gotta go, bye'

"Bye," I hung up.

I walked out of the room and headed to the kitchen.

The girls were eating on the counter, and the conversation was minimal.

"Rose, there's your plate" Georgina motioned to the plate on the counter.

"Thanks" I moved to the counter and put the plate on a tray, I then poured the juice into two glasses.

"Why aren't you eating here?" Helen asked.

"It's not for me, it's for Willam. I want to try my luck" I took the tray.

"Good luck," Violet said before I went out of the kitchen and up the stairs.

"William, open up now. You haven't eaten since last night" Miss Helda knocked with a heavy sigh.

"Still no response?" I asked.

"No, I am very worried about him" She sighed.

"Let me try to go in" I walked to the door.

"William? Janet is on the phone, she wants to talk to you" I said.

In a matter of seconds, the door was opened and Willam came into view.

I could have laughed out loud if the situation wasn't so tense.

"I thought you said you didn't want to talk to her?" I said with a smirk and walked into his room.

"Why did you lie?" he gritted from behind me.

"I figured out there was no other way to get you out of this hole" I put the tray on his bed and sat next to it.

"Come on, breakfast is ready"

"I'm not hungry" He huffed.

"Oh yeah, then you must be thirsty" I handed him the cup of juice.

"Leave me alone, Rosaline. I don't want to eat!"

"Why? Why don't you want to eat? I thought you said you've ended it all with her? That you no longer love or care for her? So why are you depressed when you are supposed to be jumping with joy that you got rid of that conniving bit-"

"Don't call her that!" He yelled and I smirked.

"Why? Are you the only one that has the right to call her a liar?"

"What do you want, Rosaline?" He sighed and ran his hand over his face.

"Have breakfast with me and prove that you are truly over her"

He remained silent for some minutes and I waited patiently for him to answer.

"Fine," he huffed and marched towards the bed.

He sat next to the tray, took a toast, and stuffed it into his mouth.

A triumph grin spread into my lips but I shut it down when he looked up at me.

"Happy now?" he scorned.

I smirked and took a toast from the plate and took a bite.

"Someone once told me if you are sad or heartbroken, don't take it out on your body. The heart is already suffering, you don't need to add salt to its wounds by punishing the body as well"

I recalled what Uncle Ray said to me eleven years ago and that statement made me eat my breakfast, lunch, and dinner. That was what made me step a little out of the shell I put myself in after my father's death.

He looked at me with a look of understanding and I smiled at him.
