"It's been to long." Mom says while wrapping me up in a hug.
"What? 10 years?" I ask, not aware of the stares of confusion from everyone that saw what I did.
"If not more." Mom says pulling away.
"I see you trained your body, but did you train your mind?" My mom asks with a raised eyebrow.
"Yes mom, "a strong mind, is a strong heart." I say quoting her.
While we were talking Max, Norm, and, Jake walked over.
"Grace, I'd like you to meet Norm Spellman and Jake Sully." Max says.
"Norm. I hear good things about you. How's your Na'vi?" Mom asks.
"May the All Mother... Smile upon our first meeting." Norm speaks in Na'vi.
"Not bad. You sound a little formal."mom also responds speaking in Na'vi.
"I studied for five years. But there is much to learn." Norm responds
"Grace? This is Jake Sully." Max says getting our attention.
"Ma'am." Jake greets raising his hand.
"Yeah, Yeah. I know who you are, and I don't need you. I need your brother. You know, the Ph.D. who trained for three years for this mission?" mom retorts.
"He's dead. I know it's a big inconvenience for everyone." Jake responds.
Seeing how things weren't going to well I jumped in.
"Mom, I served with Jake he has a good head on his shoulders give him a chance." I say trying to persuade her.
My mom thinks for a second before saying.
"How much lab training have you had?" mom asks.
"I dissected a frog once." Jake responds.
"Dumbass." I say out loud knowing my mom is about to blowup.
"You see? You see? I mean, they're just pissing on us without even the courtesy of calling it rain." mom says frustrated. While walking away.
"There she blows." I whisper to max.
"I heard that." mom says walking out of the door.
"Jake you gotta use big words next time." I say smirking.
He starts to grin before turning his wheelchair.
"Oh, you all need to be here at 0800 tomorrow." Max says to us.
"Got it." I say turning around and making my way to the bunk rooms.
I turn a corner and we a cart of full of viles with some type of yellow liquid.
'Whats that?' I think to myself.
I ignore it and continue to walk to the bunk rooms.
...
"So, how much time have you logged?" mom asks.
"About 520 hours." Norm answers.
"Thats good."
"How about you?" mom asks looking at me.
"Um, about 23 hours." I answer.
"She just shakes her head."
"Kai, your here," she says pointing at a link pod.
I walk up to the pod and get in.
A girl walks over and starts the link process.
Before the pod was closed I heard Jake say he "read a manual."
I feel like he is trying to piss her off.
The girl closes the pod and I lay down and close my eyes letting my mind go blank.
Not even 3 seconds after closing my eyes I feel like I am in a different room.
I open my eyes and at first everything was blurry but after I blinked a couple of times I could see clearly, the part that was hard for me was hearing, everything sounded muffled and there was a slight ringing in my ears.
"He's in. Kai, can you hear me? Can you hear me, Kai?" one of the three scientist standing above me asks.
"Shit, everything is muffled." I answer.
"Give it a couple of seconds then you should be fine." the other scientist said.
And just like he said I was a able to hear everything normally, well I wouldn't say normally because I can hear what's going on in the other room, and I can hear the scientist heart beats.
Finally coming to I start to raise up.
"Any pain anywhere?"
"No I'm good." I respond.
I hear some commotion to my left so I look over and see Norm just now waking up.
"Apright Kai, we are gonna make sure your moter skills are working. Can you touch your thumb to all your fingers?
I touch my thumb to my fingers as they said.
"Good, now bare with us for one second."
*Snap*
One of the scientists snaps her fingers beside my ears and says.
"Pinna response normal."
The other scientists shines a light in my eyes and says.
"Pupillary reflex is good."
I look around and start to touch my body, it feels different than my human body, it feels like sand paper but at the same time it's soft, it's hard to explain.
Two of scientist walk over to the still sleeping Na'vi which I guess is Jake, while the other one stays with me.
"Alright, how are you feeling?" the one that stayed with me asked.
"I'm feeling cramped I want to get up and move." I respond.
"Ok, let's get some clothes so we can walk around." she says walking away.
…
After a couple of minutes.
I've been ignoring the conversation to my right but it's starting to get out of hand.
"Jake you need to sit down!" I hear one of the scientists yell.
I look over and see Jake struggling to stand up.
The girl that went to go get clothes comes back and hands me some clothes and I start to change into them, which was difficult with the whole tail thing.
"Wait!"
"Sit down, Jake."
I am just observing at this point. I don't really see what's wrong with him wanted to get up and move around, he hasn't been able to use his legs for awhile.
"Jake, how does it feel to have legs?" I ask.
"Feels great." He responds starting to walk out of the lab.
"Sedate! Sedate him! A thousand milligrams of supitocam! Stat!" I hear one of the scientists yell.
"You better hurry!" I yell to him at he makes his way out of the room.
He opens the door and starts to walk out.
"I'll go get him."
I take off after him not waiting for a response, I get out of the door and start to run after him, the first thing I see two other Na'vi playing basketball, I see one of them shoot so I jump up in the air and block him, just felt like the right thing to do.
I see Jake running in the distance so I take off after him, noticing I'm a little bit slower than him, I guess that's the negative of having more muscles.
Jake slides to a stop, and I run and stop right next to him.
"This is awesome." Jake says with huge smile on his face.
I hear someone walking towards us so I look up and see a familiar looking face.
"Mom?" I ask.
"Well, who'd you expect, numbnuts?"
