Prologe

In the middle of a pompous courtroom a well dressed man could be seen. He wore a black suit and a dark red shirt but the most outstanding feature of his was a black iron mask. It was a relic of another time, a time when he was still a free man, a figure to be feared, yes indeed he was the probably most feared individual at the time of the one-hundred-year-long war of the Fire Nation.

This man was Agni. A iconic war machine infamous for killing thousands during the war, today he is here exactly because of this. The highest court of the metropole Republica is hoping to sentence him to death for his atrocious deeds.

"I have only one question remaining for you, in this hearing, Mr. Agni: What was your motive? Why all this slaughter, horror and pain?" The presiding judge asked, slightly disgusted by the man standing before him.

"Thirst." the man spoke with a charismatic voice, everybody in the room followed his words with absolute respect. He was not only feared, because of his strength, no he was also feared because of his charisma, he was able to woo the masses, or rather his armies, with his speeches, making them gladly follow him to hell. 

"That's the first thing I remember." 

"Before you ask "Thirst for what?"let me continue. The answer for this question is rather simple: Power, the power to do whatever the fuck I wanted, kill someone, save the world, terraform myself a sea size pool; just because I feel like it. Though the reason as to why I wanted all this power is a bit complicated, at first even I made the wrong assumption."

"What assumption did you make?" asked one of the judges.

"You probably know my origin story, but for the sake of accuracy I will tell you again..."
