A DISAGREEMENT?

The moment Rex disappeared through the glass door, my thoughts snapped back to focus, and I hurried after him, my footsteps echoing in my haste. Despite calling out to him repeatedly, his headphones prevented him from hearing me. I finally caught up just as we neared the classroom.

Breathless, I stood in front of him and demanded, "What was that back there?"

Rex lowered his headphones and looked at me, feigning innocence. "What do you mean?"

"That behavior earlier," I clarified, my tone firm.

"Sorry, but I don't know what you are talking about," he replied casually.

"Seriously?" I asked, incredulous. "Is that the tactic you are using to handle this?"

"There is no tactic involved. I simply don't see why you are upset when I politely ended the call, letting Brayden know that classes were about to start," he explained.
