Chapter 4 Yua

"Hey, Yua, come over here."

Ayaka beckons me over, her body language as confident as ever. Even here, in another classroom. I quickly walk up to her, walking right past her toward the club room. She won't want to discuss anything else with me.

Suddenly Ayaka stands right in front of me and glares at me, both hands on her hips, "What's this? No greeting, no nothing? Not even dropping to your knees in front of me?"

Even in her school uniform Ayaka looks scandalous, as in her free time she wears the uniform skirt as a miniskirt and overknees. Her top is not knitted in and unbuttoned as far as it is just 'allowed', the jacket hangs carelessly around her waist, the bow is tied around her neck like a choker. In contrast, I wear mine as it should be worn, which I hate, I would much rather wear a tie, but my parents would never allow that. My skirt is knee length, though I would just as soon wear slacks, my top neatly straightened and my jacket buttoned up as it is supposed to be. Rules are meant to be followed.

"You're not a goddess," I state, to which Ayaka gives a "Ts!"

I explain further, "I want to go to our club room. For sure you want to talk to me about 'Attention Catcher', our idol group."

"Correct, yet you can at least try not to ignore me," she complains. Then she beams at me, "It's fantastic news! So fantastic that I have to tell you right here!" She prances gleefully on the spot. How lively.

How naughty.

"Sooooooo," she begins to tell, gesturing as if she wasn't theatrical enough already, "I've found a potential new member for our Idol group, and by potential I mean a sure-fire new member. After school, he'll join us and you'll all get to meet him."

"...A new member?", I ask slowly.

"Yes!"

"Who is it?"

Ayaka puts an index finger on her lip and winks at me, "That remains a surprise! In any case, your job, as always, is to do the organizing."

"That's it? You shouldn't have come here for that."

"Show some respect for your leader! I'm just telling you so you can bring a form for him right away. Not that he'll change his mind and I'll lose a potential member."

And she already runs off, still waving at me over her shoulder and running into a teacher in the process. As lively as she is  irresponsible.

I wonder if she knows that I noticed her giving my classmates nasty looks and talking to them in an upset way before she came to me?
