Direct Disciple

A spacious hall unfolded in the duo's view once they warped into Sapphire Tower.

The hall was adorned with dazzling crystals as they added a majestic shine to the usually dark caves of Demonic Abode.

Lilian walked over to the throne as she sat on it like a queen.

Andrew simply stood there looking over quite expensive crystals which were magical items in actuality.

Little did he know that this room only could single-handedly outworth the now-destroyed Noris Town.

"Andrew" Lilian called over him.

"Yes, Miss Lilian Ezgard?" he replied as he walked closer to the throne.

"It's now Headmaster Lilian for you" she corrected him.

Andrew just smilingly nodded in response.

"Do you know why I selected you in the first place?" Lilian asked.

"Because I managed to pass your trials?" Andrew obviously knew the answer to it, but he wanted to appear humble and in some sense, foolish.

First, he had to lay low before obtaining the full scope of information regarding the hierarchy and stuff in Sapphire Tower. He didn't want to act rashly and if achievements were encouraged, he would be more than eager to present hundreds of them.

Lilian furrowed her brows, not expecting such a dumb response from Andrew, but she soon caught up with his plan.

She smiled as she said: "Be at ease, no one is watching. Moreover, I have no plans to suppress your potential".

Lilian tried to assure him as she had schemes brewing in her mind too. She also planned to get into his trust circle so it would be easier to use Andrew in the future.

Andrew redid his sentence: "Because of my ridiculous Phase Power and aptitude for Arrays".

"Correct" Lilian confirmed.

"Your capabilities greatly shocked me. I honestly didn't expect for such character to appear from previously mere human" Lilian said.

"In fact, you might be even capable enough to be compared to Prince Noah" Lilian remarked with a thoughtful expression.

'Noah, that kid?' a long-forgotten person appeared in Andrew's mind as he still had his crazed smile on his face.

"Oh, do you know him?" Lilian curiously asked seeing his expression. Obviously, she had done her research and knew that Andrew and Noah came together in the same batch. Unfortunately, she couldn't get her hands on Prince's mysterious past, or it would be better to say that she didn't dare to.

She hoped that Andrew would spill out the beans about his possible personal experiences with such an important figure in Demonic Abode.

Noah was largely an unknown figure in Demonic Abode, since only higher-ups knew about him and even fewer knew about his iconic battle-thirsty personality.

Moreover, Lilian Ezgard wasn't much of a deal in the eyes of the true elites of Demonic Abode, so she wasn't told about anything. She only had recently discovered his existence through an intricate web of spies. Naturally, those spies were short-lived as they were quickly discovered and sent to the depth of Enforcement Hall.

Fortunately, Lilian's involvement wasn't discovered or it would be better to say, left off the hook since she was important enough to let her live. After all, she had the potential to become a member of the Demonic Council. To better word it, she was a prospective Archmage!

"Yes, as you might have already discovered we came together in the same batch, I am not sure where he popped up from but he was rather mysterious and weird most of the time" Andrew replied as he felt like telling the whole truth about his character might do him no good. It was just a gut feeling, but he listened to it anyways.

"Oh? Nothing in detail?" Lilian solemnly looked at him as she wanted to pull out the truth.

"Sigh, I think you already know that speaking about him will be detrimental for both of us, who knows maybe there is an Archmage looking over our conversation" Andrew knew that beating around the bush would probably hurt his relationship with Lilian, so he decided to throw the truth directly into her face.

Headmaster Lilian inadvertently felt shiver down her spine as the possibility of it wasn't null. She knew far too well that something like this was entirely possible.

Moreover, both Andrew nor Lilian didn't know that someone was listening to them right at this moment!

'It seems my intuition was right, speaking about Noah isn't a good thing. It seems he had a ridiculously high status for even Lilian to be unaware of him" Andrew concluded as he found it strange that such a high-ranking person such as Lilian didn't know anything about Noah.

Moreover, the way she referred to him as Prince was more than enough to show his standing in Demonic Abode.

Coming to terms with her weakness, Lilian switched over to another matter as she took out a blue token out of her spatial ring.

The next moment, Andrew's token in his pocket glowed with the same color as Lilian's. He pulled it out as saw a strange blue rune appear on his token.

"This is confirmation of your status as my direct disciple. Remember, that from Array Association you can only accept me as your mentor and no one else. Of course, if they are of higher status than me, then you have all the rights to transfer in case they accept you" Lilian explained.

"What are the benefits of being your direct disciple?" Andrew asked.

Lilian smirked as she said:

"Access to everything"

Hope you having fun :)
