16 Promise of return.

Weeks passed, and Marcus recovered. He didn't feel pain anymore and was finally able to continue his practice of Basic Energy Gathering (lightning). With his current Energy, he was only able to rival rank three spiritual beasts.

With no need to do anything else he was able to focus solely on practicing. It took him nine days to recover to his previous strength because he could use all of his time for practice. It was going much faster than before increasing by an average of three Energy a day. Looking at his stats, Marcus was pleased.

He didn't stop practicing, and his increase in stats was shocking. But the requirement to of equaling to next rank is only getting bigger.

With the help of Es, he made a list of the required Energy for each stage. Both for spiritual beasts and human experts the Energy necessary are equal.

With this, he knows that to rival someone like the old guy he killed that time he would need a minimum of 261 energy! This shows how huge of a boost he received from the lighting armor. With his petty 59.5 Energy, he was nothing in front that guy.

Marcus thought about the Cheng Gang proposition, and in the end, he decided to accept it. He will leave for the capital the next day. At first, he wanted to go on foot like he always did, but Cheng Gang already prepared a carriage for him. And under the protection of experts from the Hunters Guild experts, he will travel to the capital city.

The road to the capital city is long, and it will take two months to get there. During the time in the carriage, Marcus will have plenty of time to practice.

But that was for tomorrow; today he will go back to his old home and visit... her.

He can directly absorb energy from them and with a small loss change it into his own Energy.

The capital city is the most significant city in the Li-country, there are many clans there, some that can rival the Hidden Dragon Clan. It's bound that there will be many resources there.

The next day. Sitting in his carriage, Marcus started to read the book Es recommended to him. It was something unimaginable for him. Basic Physics. It talked about atoms, what they ware made of, how they work, how they make the whole world. He didn't believe it, but... it was in the library of Es.

At this point, he believed that there was everything in the library everything he read there was always correct and worked in practice, but this?

Marcus has full trust in Es. But he had a tough time believing all of that. Slowly accepting the facts, Marcus immersed himself in learning. And since his power was lighting, he focused on electricity.

Everyday Marcus practiced and learned, and as his knowledge deepen the understanding of his power increased.

He now knows that his power is divided into two aspects. Plasma that is created by the electron flow, and electromagnetism that makes it go where intended. This meant that when his Energy leaves his body, it creates an electromagnetic pathway that then electrons travel through. This means if he can control his energy correctly he can change his powers to only use electromagnetism, allowing him control over all metals. He was already able to imagine himself with dozens of sword flying around him, hacking his enemies without making a single move.

But this wasn't the end of his possibilities, he learned of something called electromagnetic spectrum. Electromagnetism is electricity and magnetism, two aspects of the same force. And when you change a magnetic field with respect to an electrical one or conversely, the field releases energy in the form of an oscillating electrical/magnetic field. This, in other words, is... light.

There were so many possibilities for Marcus to explore that he wasn't able to sleep, thinking only of new ideas. This slowly changed as Marcus tried to gain more control over his power. He knew it was possible, but it was too hard. Not to mention separating his power into plasma and electromagnetism, he wasn't even able to shape it.

After many lengthy discussions with Es, they created a plan for him of how to train his control over his power. And changing shape was his first step towards it.

What Marcus had to do is to release his energy and make it form first a half a circle, so it leaves his body then it enters it again and then a full circle where he can create it in and hold in mid-air.

But as days past Marcus saw very little progress and two months went by. At this point, he can create half a circle and maintain it for a long time. And because Marcus is controlling all the energy, he can safely introduce it back to his system. But to make it easier for him, his training plan was adjusted, and for now, he needs to learn how to control it even better, to the point he can manipulate it at will.

But now in front of Marcus was a huge monster called the capital city, and he has to face it.
