10 Killing

Looking at himself, he saw no change, but he could feel it. His muscles did not change in size, but his whole body felt lighter. Walking up to a tree he threw a punch and soon after leaves started to fall from above, while the place he hit was completely broken. It would take him a long time but, he will be able to rival other cultivators in pure strength in the future.

With this, his biggest flaw wouldn't be a problem anymore. Checking his stats showed him that his physical stats increased by 3!

With confidence on his face, Marcus started to go deeper into the forest.

While walking in the forest, Marcus found tracks he never saw before. Following them, he spent an hour before finding a huge tiger-like, spiritual beast. It was green in colour allowing it to blend with the environment and its height was almost the same as Marcus and its length twice of that. Searching in the library, he quickly found what it was. Leaf tiger, a cruel rank four spiritual beast that likes to stalk its prey and torturing it before killing.

It was a rank four spiritual beast! With his energy being at 45.8, he had a chance to kill it, but he wasn't quite sure. The same way he needed at least five energy to be able to fight rank one, rank four required a minimum of forty-one. The difference is that rank two minimum requirement was eleven, this means that rank one is between five and ten, where rank four is between forty-one and eighty!

Because of this, he wasn't sure how the fight would go, if the difference is too big, it would mean his death.

With confidence in his eyes, Marcus started to sneak up to the tiger. When he was close enough for his attacks to be effective, he gathered energy in his hands before releasing it towards the tiger.

Seeing his attack hit confidence filled his heart, but at that moment the leaf tiger looked at him furiously. Calming his heart Marcus got ready to fight. Taking half a step back he waited for tigers attack. When the tiger leaped at him, Marcus was ready, moving back he released another lighting from his hands the Leaf tiger tried to dodge it, but Marcus's attack was too fast causing it to be gravely injured.

While the tiger was getting more and more furious, Marcus stayed calm and focused. Waiting for the tiger to attack again. Seeing a paw swiping from the right, he rolled to the right under it, at the same releasing energy from his hands and striking the tiger again. His mind was empty of any thoughts, in his eyes there was only the tiger. Marcus kept dodging attack after attack slowly dealing more damage to the tiger. Feeling the wind from the tiger's attack he knew that receiving even one hit would be the end of him, not letting it take over his mind, Marcus speed up the energy in his body.

As the fight went on Marcus's body grew tired, his breath became irregular and drops of sweat formed on his face. But the leaf tiger was in an even worse condition, as lightning continued to strike him, the damage started to accumulate, its muscles spasmed from time to time, and its attacks became slower and less accurate.

As his last-ditch resort, the leaf tiger charged at Marcus. Expecting that it will happen sooner or later, Marcus dodged to the side and then dodged again as the tiger attacked furiously. Seeing that Marcus was able to doge again, leaf tiger gave up. Seeing Marcus's attack coming at him it didn't try to dodge anymore letting it strike, ending its life.

Seeing the leaf tiger die, Marcus collapsed to the ground, breathing heavily and with pain all over his body. After a few minutes he finally got up, his body was tired, but the energy was already recovered, coming closer to the body of the leaf tiger he realized what he did. The enemy was stronger than him, yet he won showing the superior quality of his power, which meant that others with power close to his, wouldn't be his match.

Taking out a rope from his backpack he, hanged the tiger upside down, cut its throat and collected its blood. Changing the sack of blood, he waited as the tiger had a huge body, meaning a lot of blood.

He suddenly heard footsteps behind him, turning around to look he saw three young men, around his age. Their clothes looked expensive, seeing him they had surprise on their faces.

Then their eyes moved towards hanging leaf tiger. With shock on their faces, they looked back at him.

"He killed a leaf tiger!"

"But how?! It's the strongest spiritual beast in the outer forest!"

Two guys in the back spoke. The one at the front, definitely the leader of the group, kept looking at Marcus in silence. Not knowing what to say Marcus looked back at the leader of the group. Then a sadistic smile showed on the face of the leader.

"What are you guys talking about, we killed the leaf tiger."

The leader suddenly spoke. Hearing this Marcus got up onto his feet, taking a half step back, he started to circulate his energy. The two guys at the back soon realized what the leader meant, and got ready.

"Are you sure second young master, he killed the leaf tiger by himself."

"Look at him he is completely exhausted, not to mention that the three of us together would be almost equal with the leaf tiger."

Assuring one of his subordinates, the second young master took a step forward. With the intent to kill Marcus he started running towards him. Right after him were his two subordinates.

Seeing as the enemy got closer, Marcus emptied his mind and closed his heart. It was his first time fighting a person, and from how they decided to kill him immediately, if he let them go… they would come back to kill him.

So... He had to kill them.
