Chapter 42: Could you specify?

"You guys are damn fast, even faster than the person who's supposed to take our order." Elijah was astonished by them.

"Come in, what are you guys waiting for?" Elijah asked them to enter the room.

"Pardon our intrusion." All of them said in unison.

One by one the members of Olivia's team entered with different expressions on their faces.

First to enter was Vincenzo who had an awkward grin on his face for some reason. Followed by the other two tanks whose names were Jarrod and Maverick.

Jarrod and Maverick were smiling cheerfully. They were thrilled to come here for the party.

"Good evening Everyone!" Both of them said individually.

"Boss, we saw some kids further away from your room, they seemed suspicious." Steve, one of the knights, said with a serious expression.

"Let them be." Olivia said with an uninterested expression.

"As you say Boss." Steve was very obedient to Olivia just like the other squamates. All of them were saved by her in one or the other way.

"Steve my friend, why so serious? We can always kill them if the Boss finds it necessary." Quinn the second knight said with a playful smile on his face.

"Quinn, why wait? We can clear them out before they even think of harming the Boss." Steve whispered.

"Do you guys think we cannot hear you when you are standing right before us?" Paityn the third knight shook her head in disapproval.

"Bro code no.34, ignore women who talk shit and keep your bro away from them." Both of them went forward and stood behind Olivia.

A vein bulged in Paityn's forehead.

"You! I'll pry your head open." Paityn was irritated and both of them were smart enough to stand behind Olivia because they were sure if they didn't move behind the Boss there would be projectiles. Of Course the said projectiles are none other than Steve and Quinn.

Steve and Quinn pretended to speak when they were just mouthing some words but the words were not understandable by anyone.

Except Ryan who burst out laughing.

"Olivia, your squad is really funny, you raised them well." Ryan said this before but he couldn't stop from saying it again.

"Now let's continue with the introduction." Ryan asked them to introduce themselves as they were not able to do that before.

"Wait I'll do that, all of you will just fight again to talk first." Vincenzo, like the older brother, wanted to sort everything out.

"Ok so, the knight with curly hair is Steve and the mischievous looking guy beside him is Quinn."

"Sorry for doubting you back then." Both of them apologised sincerely.

"No need to apologise." Ryan said with a slight smile.

"Now, the woman who is always angry, her name is Paityn. She is a knight too."

"Pleased to meet you sir." She immediately straightened her back and said in a serious tone.

Ryan nodded his head with a smile.

"Wait a minute, all of you stand in a queue." Vincenzo said as the members who were not yet introduced followed Vincenzo's order.

"Now this will be easy." Vincenzo said with a smile.

"Caeleb the fourth knight and then we have lynda the muscle head knight." Vincenzo ignored the frown on Lynda's face and asked them to introduce themselves.

"Hello." Both of them greeted Ryan with a light bow.

"Now time for these two idiots." Vincenzo grabbed the two healers with the back of their collars and showed them to Ryan like they were lambs who were about to be roasted.

"Otto." The first healer said with a pout.

"Joe." The second said with the brightest smile one could imagine.

Elijah, who was watching this quietly, couldn't help but think 'Joe is turning into more of a trap everytime I see him.'

Vincenzo dropped them to the ground like small teddy bears and gestured his right hand towards

"They are Gaston, Manny, Louie and Robin." The mages then greeted Ryan.

*Knock* *knock*

As they all took their respective seats they heard a knock on the door.

"I'll open the door." Otto raised his hand and swiftly reached the door and coughed to clear his voice. He opened the door and saw a bountiful woman standing outside.

"I am here to take your orders." She said with a smile.

"Could you specify?" Otto couldn't help but ask.

The woman's smile threatened to break as her lips twitched uncontrollably.

'This guy is a greenhorn.' The seductive woman thought.

'She must think I am a virgin now.' Otto felt like crying.

Poor Otto.

Otto felt something rise and it was definitely not his American spirit. He cleared his throat again and said in the most serious sounding voice he could muster "You may enter."

"Hello everyone." The woman spoke in a loud and clear voice.

They all nodded but only paityn replied with a short "Hello."

I mean what would they say?

Hello?

Yeah that would be the case in normal situations, not when someone is definitely here to seduce.

But who?

They all looked at Ryan at once after figuring out something.

Ryan gave them a dry look but chose to remain silent.

'Do these people think I am a horny dog?' Ryan was thinking something along the line but less family friendly.

"Are you the bartender?" Ryan asked with a smile.

"Yes, Although we take orders for food, Every VIP room gets a personal bartender." The woman had the textbook example of a sweet voice.

"Good then I'll take something light first, Bruichladdich Quadrupled whisky should do the trick." Ryan said while looking at the liquor options.

"Pardon me, but could you please repeat?" The woman was dumbfounded by Ryan's statement.

"Ryan, are you serious? Do you consider that light?" Even the usually quiet Olivia was shocked by him.

It was time for Elijah to save the day.

"Just pour him a glass of regular scotch and it would be good if you ask someone to bring him a dry aged wagyu ribeye. Medium rare should be on point." Elijah said with a sigh.

"You heard him?" Ryan said with an eye blink.

"Y-yeah I got it." The woman stuttered but work came first so she took everyone's order before asking the person who was standing outside to take it to the chef.

"Elijah, not to be rude but you almost sounded like his lover." Vincenzo said with an awkward smile.

"I have heard that so many times that I am not fazed by it anymore." Elijah shook his head with a helpless smile.

Otto and Joe couldn't help but laugh when they imagined some scene where Ryan comes home after a long day of work and Elijah, like a housewife greets him while saying the cliche line.

"That would be hot." They weren't the only ones as Paityn thought about the same thing.

"Umbra." Ryan said with a calm smile as a black tiger with beautiful golden stripes appeared behind Ryan.

"Why don't we stop the weird talks and focus on drinks while our food is being prepared." Ryan laughed lightly.

Everyone felt their blood freezing when they saw the beast they saw a glimpse of when they were in the labyrinth.

*Crunch*

A sudden sound distracted everyone as they looked at the source of this breaking sound which was from a glass falling.

"I am sorry for my mistake, I usually do not make mistakes please don't report this to the manager." The woman almost freaked out.

"You, focus on your job." Olivia's extremely cold voice resounded as the woman quickly started to prepare the drinks.

Olivia, after seeing that the woman was now working diligently, didn't have anything else to say.

She moved towards the tiger which looked lazy but nobody dared to say anything about it.

"Good girl." Olivia started patting Umbra on her head.

"You are a thief but I like you." Umbra tried to say but the only one that heard it was Ryan.

"Why do you like her?" Ryan asked her through their mind link while sipping on his glass of scotch.

"Because she's flatter than a bean pole." Ryan almost had to spit out the liquor because of Umbra's simple remark.

'For the first time in my life, I am glad she can't speak human language.' Ryan nodded his head in approval.

"Guardian Ryan, I wanted to ask you a question which has been bothering me for a while." Joe raised his hand like a student asking to clear some doubts in class.

"What is it Joe?" Ryan asked with a friendly tone.

"Brother Elijah told us about you and how you went somewhere to train your martial arts. Were you already aware that something like the cataclysm would happen?" Joe asked with a bit of fear evident in his way of speaking.

"I didn't, but I will just say one thing which you should always remember. You should not trust the myths as they can be manipulated according to the taste of the person with power. Always find the negative as it will surely provide you something important that will definitely help you in the future." Ryan had learnt this lesson way before he learnt anything about Pantheons from Tia.

"Never trust the glamorous without proof and never hate the dark without a reason." Ryan stated.

"That's deep coming from you." Elijah chuckled lightly.

"Heh…you think so? My master said that everything I speak is way too striking." Ryan lied as Tia whipped him with Corentin, her golden spear tied at the top of the whip whenever he started spitting cringe lines.

According to Tia, he is not wrong but he is cringey.

As the group was spending their night happily a storm was about to barge through their doors. Time is running as the Earth is about to enter a new Era.

In a dark place a man was walking with his loud footsteps echoing around the place. Suddenly he halted, before him stood a statue of a being with long curved horns on its head. Face so ugly that even Haphaestus would look Prince charming compared to it.

A gruff voice came out of that statue which caused the person to shiver in fear.

"Arachne was killed, You just have two more chances left to prevent your heads from rolling on the ground. Kill that person who's responsible for your subordinate's death." The voice from the statue resounded.

"As you wish, My lord." The masculine voice of a man escaped the unknown figure's mouth.

"Human life on that puny planet should end at any cost." The statue said with a fading voice which indicated the being who the man was talking to has already left.

"Glory to the lord." The man said while shivering in fear.

"I'll kill you for your helpless attempt to ruin my plans. I don't know who you are but just to pay you back I won't let you die easily." The man said with fury in his eyes.

Somewhere far away from the dark room was a vibrant garden and in that garden was a tree under which a woman with green hair was weeping as the animals around her were trying to console her.

"Mother, please don't cry." A bird spoke in a human voice.

"It hurts us to see you cry, Mother." A deer nudged the woman with her head lightly but the woman kept weeping until she felt a change. A change in fate of her children.

"Please don't make me wait, Ryan." She looked at the sky which had some dark clouds around the horizon.

While I was writing this chapter my professor told me that I had a project to write on black holes. That's the reason why this chapter was delayed by a day.

I can't help but say the professor is a cunt and he should be thrown in the same thing he gave me a project about.
