chapter 2: Family

After coming out of the tub, he wiped his body with a towel, while drying himself up he looked at the mirror, the mirror reflected the image of a 20yr old young man, with a semi-muscular build and height of 185 cm.

His hair was as Black as the night, with blue eyes portraying his cunning and prideful nature, he had a sharp jawline and a dainty nose with milky smooth skin without any blemishes. But he didn't bother giving a narcissistic remark, which he would usually prefer, but he was preoccupied, he was thinking about the dream he had.

'That dragon, what did he mean by awakening?. Is this the reason why I am being followed by people, and what were those weapons, damaging my soul? He says.....what a joke!Sounds like some Chinese novel. But I still need to find out why I am being followed, this might be something dangerous. Should I inform the police?.....no, not yet.' "Haaa.." He sighs and leaves.

After covering himself up, he went to the kitchen, upon reaching there he saw a familiar scene, a young girl with glossy black hair chowing down a sandwich, and a man in his 40s, who had no signs of ageing on his skin, he had blonde hair and sharp sapphire eyes, he was john, Ryan's dad, he was watching something on his laptop, The man then turned his head and looked at him, Ryan looked at the man and nodded, after that he sneaked up to the girl and said in a soft but eerie tone "you overslept again."

"The same trick won't work twice, idiot!" She said looking at him with her innocent sapphire eyes, the same colour as him, she had shoulder length black hair and a cute oval shaped face, which can trigger any man's protective instinct.

Ryan smiled at her and said "856 wins and 21 losses, quite a score, don't you think so?, Rebecca."

"The one who lost today is not me but you and this is quite an achievement."

She said with a cheerful smile.

"21 isn't a big number, you know!, and you've been losing for a while." Ryan said with a smirk.

"Mom!" She played her mom card but to no avail.

Emma chuckled "Oh dear, please don't drag me in this, I don't want to take sides, and Ryan you are an adult now, don't tease her." Emma had waist length black hair and grey coloured eyes, she was really beautiful despite being in her late early 40s just like John. Emma was a really kind hearted woman, she was a doting mother for her children, but sometimes she acted like a child herself.

"Hmph.. being an adult does not mean I can't mess with her, after all she's my bratty sister."

"Mom, he called me a brat."

Emma facepalmed.

"Let them be Emma, without their shenanigans this house would lose its lustre." John laughed, closing his laptop screen.

Emma then walks up to them and pats their heads "You are right honey!, without their mischief our home is incomplete."

"True, but mom I might not come home tonight, Elijah and I plan to play some games." Ryan said in a gentle tone.

"Ok but don't forget to sleep" Emma said while sitting beside Rebecca.

"So Ryan, how is your university life going?" John asked after taking a sip from a cup of coffee.

Emma and Rebecca looked at him while expecting some juicy gossip material, But what they didn't expect, was him saying

"Oh nothing special."

The mother and daughter pair gave Ryan a dissatisfied look, Ryan noticed this and said "Heh... didn't get what you expected, how adorable."

"Okay then I'll be leaving now, Bye guys!"

Ryan said while preparing to leave.

After leaving the house Ryan started walking towards Elijah's place, on his way there he felt like someone was following him, but when he looked around he didn't see anyone suspicious.

'So you guys are at it again, good because you won't live long, enjoy the time you have left bastards' Ryan thought with a disdainful look on his face.

After walking for 10 mins he reached his destination, it was a two storey house, Ryan rang the bell and waited for someone to open the door, thirty seconds later, someone opened the door, it was Elijah's mom, Rachel, she was a beautiful woman in her early 40s, she looked at him and said with a smile "It has been a while Ryan, how are you?"

"Just trying to do better ma'am, but is Elijah home?" he asked with a slight smile.

"Yes he is in his room, still sleeping. If he was even half like you, I wouldn't have to worry about him." she sighed.

Ryan chuckled and said "Don't worry ma'am he's a really kind and caring person, always helping people in need."

'People who are in need for trashing'

He thought while maintaining his amiable smile. "Can you please wake him up?" Rachel asked with an expectant look.

"Yes ma'am." After talking to her for a while Ryan started walking towards Elijah's room, he reached his room, and knocked four times in a rhythm, and then he opened the door and went inside."

"Did you find something?" Ryan asked while looking at a young man the same age as him. Elijah was an above average looking guy, with a muscular build and height of 190 cm, he had brown hair and green eyes which currently looked drowsy, which signified he didn't sleep yesterday.

"Don't ask, nothing went according to our plan, we've been running a fool's errand till now." Elijah said with a scorn.

"So it's impossible to extract information from them?" Ryan asked with a thoughtful look. "Yup, Mostly because when you ask them something they bite their tongue and die, and you know how hard it is to dispose of so many bodies, we need to plan something else or cops might get on our trail, But I found something amazing, come take a look."

Elijah then unlocked his laptop and showed Ryan a video, in that video Ryan saw a warehouse, he saw people bringing some containers and unloading them inside.

Suddenly a man slipped on something and fell down and the container he was carrying broke and its contents came out, the container was filled with glowing green spheres, he quickly got up and started picking them, but it was already late, because the next second a guy in white suit slashed his head with who knows what, but what scared Ryan was not his way of killing but his speed "Too fast." he muttered.

"I know right?, but this is not the amazing part, what comes later gives me goosebumps." After hearing his friend, he kept watching and a few minutes later someone messed up again, but this man didn't get beheaded, he was burned alive. "But how?, this is not possible, the guy in the white suit didn't even touch a single hair on his body."

"This might not be clear in this video but he shot fire from his hands." Elijah said with a grim face.

"W-What?, did you drink yesterday?, because that's not something a human can do." Ryan said while looking straight at Elijah.

"You know I stopped drinking months ago and I am not a fan of lying." Elijah said while letting out a scoff.

"Elijah! I think we have our lead, we'll move out tonight at 11:30 pm." Ryan said in a serious tone.

"Hehe..Now we are talking."
