"What's the second thing?" Rui asked.
Zai took her own water and had a sip. "I'm being assigned a mission. It might take up to two weeks depending on conditions. If you hadn't signed your papers, I'd have left it at that, but if you want to come with me then-"
"I'll go," Rui said, interrupting again.
"Let me finish," Zai sighed. "If you want to come with me, there's a non-negligible chance for combat. I need your assurances that you will focus on staying out of the way if that happens."
"Fine. I promise... but do I at least get to watch?" Rui asked.
"If the situation is safe enough, yes," Zai took a breath. "It'll mostly be two weeks there and back by train, and then a flight to Linan."
"Linan?" Rui asked.
"The new capital," Zai explained. "It's still under construction, but the government complex should be finished by then."
