Life is No Game

>Tyler's POV<

Inakyat namin ang main gate tapos nakita kami ni Geof from afar but he was still struggling. I looked at Dannie's father and he looked at me and nodded. Alam niya na kung saan mag po-position kaya he mad his stance near the bush, not visible to the zombies.

I took a deep breath. "Hoy! Lapitan niyo ako at 'wag si Geof!" sigaw ko and the ordinary zombies looked back and started to look at my direction.

"Tyler, ano bang ginagawa mo?! Nagpapakamatay ka ba?" tanong ni Geof but I did not answer his question and I started running towards the right side and the zombies who heard me followed. Yung gma natira, pinatay ng mga ibag parents at classmates namin ni Geof para yung natira na lang ay si Geof at yung zombie sa taas niya. Para mas madaling mangyari yung plano na patayin yung zombie sa taas niya.

Hang in there, Geof. I know you can do this.

Tiningnan ko yung right side ko. Seven zombies. Tapos sa left naman, 6 zombies. Medyo marami rin, but I won't stop. It's now or never. Kung hindi ito magiging successful, we may die. Isang pagkakamali na 'yon, it can make a big difference.

I ran to the farthest right and sinundan ako ng mga zombies. Lumingon ako and malapit na akong maabot. I lifted up my right hand and I started to shoot down ombies near me for them not to bite me. "Tito, barilin mo na!" sigaw ko and I stopped in my position, looked back and killed zombies in my own free will with the help of my comrades at the rooftop.

Tinaas ng dad ni Dannie yung baril niya at nag aim siya ng Mabuti sa zombie sa taas ni Geof. Napansin ni Geof ang nangyayari so he kept his patience and he stuggled beneath the zombie, shouting at the top of her lungs as if she's in agony.

Hinawakan niya yung trigger ng M16 na hawak niya. "Geof, ibaba ang ulo!" sigaw niya and the bullet flashed in a second. It may seem impossible for me, it looked like everything was in slow motion so I closed my eyes.

A matter of life and death in just one shot.

I opened my eyes even though there were zombies in front of me. Lahat ng nangyayari ngayon, parang slow motion talaga. I am concerned about Geof. Ano'ng nangyari? Who died? I can't see. A lot of zombies are in front of me and I can't move. Hindi ako makagalaw.

I can't afford to lose another life.

"Tyler, takbo!" sigaw ng dad ni Dannie sa akin and it woke me. In front of me appeared Geof with his sword and killed some of the zombies near me and he grabbed my hand and the three of us dashed towards the tree.

Tiningnan ko si Geof. "You're alive!" sabi ko sa kanya at tiningnan niya ako habang tumatakbo kaming tatlo.

"Tanga ka ba?" sabi niya and he smirked at me. "Efficient yung shooting ni tito. At ang aga pa, no! Hindi pa ako mamamatay!" sabi pa niya and I smiled back at him.

"Sabi ko sa'yo, Tyler. Also trust your comrades." Dannie's father told me and I smiled as we were running towards the tree. The zombies also chasing us. Tatlo lang yung pinatay ni Geof kanina at marami pa ang natitira.

Umakyat kami sa pinakamataas na tree and as we climbed up, a zombie almost grabbed Dannie's father's lef. Hinila namin agad ni Geof ang arm niya para makasama namin siya rito sa taas ng puno. Nakarating na kami rito agad at nilabas ni Geof yung walkie-walkie niya.

Geof activated it. "Dannie, ibato mo na!" sigaw niya and we received a feedback from her.

"On it!" she replied at tapos nakita namin siyang tumayo sa taas ng rooftop. Hinila niya yung switch ng grenade, binato niya at hinawakan namin ni Geof at dad niya ang isa't isa to make sure nap ag natamaan kami, we are still together.

Nahulog na yung grenade sa sahig. Pinikit namin ang aming mga mata and it made us deaf for a couple of seconds. Nahulog kaming tatlo sa sahig and smoke was everywhere. Although, we're still holding each other's hand. Umuubo kaming tatlo at ang tahimik ng paligid namin. Parang naka-mute ang buong paligiran mo. Parang bingi ka talaga. Tiningnan namin ang isa't-isa.

Ano na ang nanyari?

The smoke was slowly disappearing and we looked at our surroundings. Wala ng zombies ang nasa paligid namin. Is it all over? Parang nanalo ka sa isang digmaan. Nakakagulat na masarap sa pakiramdam dahil nanalo ka kasi nabayaran ang paghihirap mo.

Nginitian namin ang isa't-isa and I looked up at the people on the rood. "We succeeded!" sigaw ko at lahat na sila sa rooftop nagsisigawan, nagtataasan ng kamay at tumatalon. Lahat din sila nag group hug. Nagyakapan din kaming tatlo habang tumatawa kami dahil sa sobrang saya.

Our hard work paid off.

Lahat ng mga comrades namin tumakbo pababa paounta sa amin at nag celebrate kami as if graduation ang nangyari kahit wala naman talagang graduation ang naganap dahil nangyaari ang zombie apocalypse before we could even graduate in high school. And it is only now that I realized something.

Ako yung taong walang pakealam pag dating sa mga bagay-bagay. Seryoso man o hindi. Pero ngayon na life and death ang sitwasyon, I now fully understand that life is precious. We only get to live once. YOLO, they would usually say. Hindi ito tula ng laro na may revive. Na may reboot. Na may load at save points. Na may restart para gawing tama ang pagkakamali.

Life is no game.

Comrades… akala ko mag isa lang ako pero marami rin pala akong kasama. Maraming tutulong sa'yo. I hate working with people but I didn't figure out that when you work together so hard, it can be fulfilling and at the same time, enjoying. We will work hard until the end.

We fight today… for the success of our future.
