SWEET CONVERSATION
"You know how to cook?" Kayden asked Lexi after a while.
"A little." Lexi answered. She glanced at man standing next to her, the butler. The man is just waiting for her words that will be coming from the person who she is talking with right now.
"I'll eat what you cook, then." Lexi heard Kayden's answer. She was about to speak again when she heard murmuring at the background. Her brows furrowed for being confused.
"A-are you in a meeting right now?" Lexi asked with beating heart. She closed her eyes when she finally remember that the man was in a hurry to attend his meeting with the heads department. "I'm sorry, I forgot that you are in a meeting right now. I'll end the call then." Lexi was about to end the call when the man speaks again.
"Can't wait to go home to eat what you cook for me, mommy." After that words, Kayden end the call. Lexi on the other hand, was stunned to the point she couldn't hear what the butler is asking to her.
"Mommy, butler Ernesto is asking you." Lexi blinked twice when she heard Justin voice. The little boy is looking at her with question mark on his innocent eyes.
"Sorry, what did you ask?" Lexi turned her gaze to the butler then also look at the woman who is now can't look back at her.
"I'll send you to your room, Miss Lexi." The butler said. Lexi nodded as she picked up Justin again. They walked towards the high stairs that is headed to the second floor of the mansion. When she remember something, she stopped and looked back to the woman who talked to her a while ago.
"Prepare some pork and spices for me. I'll prepare our lunch later." She said and turned away. Didn't wait for the woman to answer. Although she knew that the woman is just concern with her boss, she still felt insulted.
"Please don't get mad at her too much, she's just worried to our boss since he was being targeted by his enemies many times." The butler speaks.
"I know. That's why I didn't say anything that might cause too much trouble." She said. How can she be mad to the woman if she herself is actually one of those enemy's spy. For sure, if that woman found out about her true hidden purpose, she will be the first to slap her face.
"Thank you Miss. Lexi." The butler speaks again as he also opened the door that she'll be using for one night. "Please have a wonderful stay in the Smith's residence, and please call me if you need anything." Ernesto added before leaving her with Justin.
"Yeeeey! Mommy, I wanna sleep here with you!" Justin run inside the room and hop in the bed.
"Be careful, you might fall." She warned the little boy who listened to her surprisingly. Lexi looked around in every corner of the room, the design is very relaxing. From the color of the floor to the design on the ceiling, from the furniture to the beddings, everything is perfect.
"I will sleep here later, mommy. Hmm?!" Justin keeps insisting and convincing her to agree. She chuckled and nodded as surrendering to the little boy.
"Alright. But first, you have to help me to prepare what we should cook for our lunch. Your Dad will be joining us later." Lexi spread her hands to the boy to call him over. She doesn't need to unpack her luggage because she'll just going to stay there for one night.
"You'll let me help you?" Justin excitedly asked.
Lexi helped the little boy to get down on the bed. They both get out of the room holding hands.
"Yes.. I need assistant chief cook." She said.
When the butler saw them again, he smile as he approached them.
"Do you need anything?" Ernesto asked. He is happy to see his young boss happy face. That is the first time he saw him like that since he was a child.
"Nothing much, Ernesto. I just need an apron for me and an apron, cute apron for Justin." Lexi said. The butler nodded as he leads the way to the kitchen.
He then call the attention of the woman from a while ago.
"Do you have an extra apron? And also for our young boss." Ernesto asked the woman who couldn't even looked at Lexi.
"Don't be uncomfortable with me. I'm not mad at you, I understand that your just concerned about your boss safety." Lexi tell the woman. The woman looked at her for assurance if she's telling the truth or she just acting. And when she saw the pure innocence in her eyes, she give her sweet smile and bow her head a bit.
"Thank you for your understanding Miss. Lexi. Please wait here, I'll look for the apron." The woman finally regain her composure again and excitedly turned away to look for what she needs.
Lexi and Justin approached the table where she will going to use later. The butler on the other hand, leave them again and went back to where he was working.
"What are we going to cook, Mommy?" Justin asked her. He is watching her while she is getting some veggies.
"Hmmm.. I'm also thinking. A mixed vegetables with sliced pork seems delicious." She said. "Then, let's make some egg soup. And pork steak." She added. She's not boasting now but she knew some recipes. So cooking is just a simple task for her.
"Wow! I want to grow and learn how to cook too, mommy. I want to be like you." Justin exclaimed while clapping his small hands.
"Alright, I'll teach you how to cook. Now, let's wait for the auntie to bring us our apron." Lexi said.
"I hope we can also cook with Daddy someday." Justin said while smiling.
Lexi suddenly got stiffened. She remembered her conversation with Kayden a while ago. Now she's thinking, did he calls her Mommy because she called him Daddy first?
