Chapter 5 – Revealed Truths – 2
I open my eyes once more, gasping for air as if someone had just had their hand over my throat.
A tear streams down my face, and I find myself in my old body, wearing a suit and tie from my graduation from the Academy.
Confused about what's going on, I look around and realize that I'm back in the void with the shady ghost lady I met during my death.
"So, what am I doing here?" I scoff at the woman. "Did I kick the bucket for good this time, or will I have more of my life mocked, laughed at, and watch myself fail those around me?"
The vaguely shaped figure of the woman, her appearance becoming more defined and shapely, just stares at me blankly, saying nothing.
Pressure wells up within me, tears streaming down my face in frustration. Crying out for an answer, I scream at the figure, who remains emotionless.
"What's the point of all this? If I'm just going to let everyone down over and over again, then just let me die or erase my memories so I can stop this futile effort!"
