Mallory the unfortunate child born from a human among a tribe of leopard demihumans was bullied and shunned since young due to her being slightly weaker, being a bearer of bad luck and because she was an easy target. Even when she kept trying to overcome her trials and difficulties, she still ended up in a poor situation and that is when her previous life’s memories returned along with a skill which had been awakened. How will she survive in the Danmachi world? I do not claim to own Danmachi, its plot or characters but there are some changes I may make to the original story and add my own characters. Mallory had another question in her mind about the monsters which she was curious about. 'If monsters come from magic stones and they can respawn once again within the dungeon then can they do the same outside of the dungeon?'
It was a strange phenomenon on its own that the bodies had turned into a mist after their death then left behind the magic stone and possibly a drop item too.
It was well known that the monsters had respawned endlessly within the dungeon but how could they do the same outside?
Did their final traces dissipate into nothingness?
Would they be carried to the nearest place where there was a source of magic stones to be reborn once again somewhere in the world?
Would they miraculously appear back in the dungeon once again?
If they had respawned then would they be the same type of creature they once were or would they change depending on the magic crystal they had been made from or was there something that helped decide for them how they turned out in the end?
Then what about the Xenos?
Did they have the same features even after they escaped the cycle of the monsters who knew nothing but negative feelings and murder or would their lives be forfeit permanently after their deaths?
Each question was very important for the future plans of Mallory which could help her in making her decision.
She picked up the drop item and the magic stones then put them away before climbing back onto her bike. "Well.. that does not matter for now. Either way they are still harmful creatures that are hated by humanity. It is kill or be killed at this point and I cannot do anything to change that. I have grown but I have a long way to go."
As she was riding her bike, her gaze had rested on the compass. "Hm.. the compass may have picked up the goblins in the way but the direction has not changed which means there is something greater ahead."
Mallory trusted in her compass to lead her towards the right location but it could just lead her into danger if she put too much faith in it and was not prepared.
As she was riding, she had came closer to the walls of Visa City which had some forestation around the outside.
A strange thing happened as the compass pointed in the opposite direction all of a sudden.
She had encountered nothing which left her confused but she had still made her bike come to a halt then turned back.
The compass was removed from the handlebars of the bike and she slowly walked while following the pointer.
As she was stepping forward, the pointed started to rotate on the spot.
Mallory examined it and her surroundings then said to herself. "Most would think it has broken or does not work well but… in times like this I have to trust in what it is trying to show me. If nothing can be seen and the compass is behaving this way then there must be a reason. Is it above or below then?"
She tilted the compass to the side which caused the pointer to move suddenly and faced towards the ground. "Sure enough."
Mallory placed it in her pocket then took out Valis as she began using it to dig where the compass had pointed to.
She had opened her eyes to see the aura that came from below and saw a faintly ominous aura which had some strange attracting force.
Once she had hit something hard, Mallory began digging around it until it was unearthed and was within her hands.
A small case was opened with ease which had revealed a strange looking vase which had several runic markings on them. "I knew that things would not be so easy to keep the city safe but this kind of tactic is just foul."
A cold look appeared on her face as she had figured out what it was and had Valis ready in her hand.
She crushed the vase in her hand as she turned to look towards the distance where many glowing red eyes had appeared from the shade and cover of the forest. "I thought so.. no wonder Visa City is under attack so much."
Mallory had read reports that there were many attacks over the past couple of years and that the security inside and outside had been weakened greatly compared to before.
If it was not for the Seshat family aiding the city then it could have fallen much sooner.
It was one of the reasons why Oars had been able to earn his title as the guardian spear of Visa City.
There would always be a reason behind such things happening suddenly and Mallory had found it after stepping outside for the first time.
The vase shaped item which she had found was a type of dark or cursed item which had been made to lure in monsters.
The monsters would be drawn to near the walls and then would gather in a larger number until a monster wave happened.
A lot of monsters had been wandering around and split up to avoid having conflicts with each other but that changed once Mallory had dug it up from under the ground.
They could not detect where the lure was but Mallory could and once she had found it, they picked up on the stronger presence of the lure which was no longer underground.
They were instantly attracted to her location and saw Mallory crush it into very small fragments.
She stood ready for combat and beckoned them over. "Come!"
