Arya's house

A banged-up bus entered the Evergreen housing colony attracting hungry stares of zombies as they rushed towards it only to be smashed away by it.

The sound of breaks being applied heavily came as Jason stopped the bus in front of Arya's home with a jolt.

"My driving still needs some practice," Jason said with an awkward laugh. The way they were handling the bus it would not survive another day and would become a piece of crap. He had thought of getting a new ride but finding a vehicle better than this bus was difficult. Only those trucks used for carrying goods or construction material would be better than this.

Jason handed a couple of magazines for the gun to Harry. Harry had returned the guns to Jason, now he only had one gun which Jason had given him during their mall raid.

"Stay here we'll go up and try finding her parents" Arya also had a sister who studied at a military school and she was a fiery girl who was one year older than her but no matter who she called her sister or her parents it didn't connect. By now they had guessed something was wrong with the telecommunication channels, maybe the government had thought that it would prevent mass panic but it was a really bad decision when zombies were popping out all around the world.

"Be careful..." Harry said with a concerned look. Even though both of them were super-humans now going into these closed apartments made it easy for them to be ambushed.

Arya, on the other hand, was a nervous wreck the at the thought of seeing her parent's and sisters' dead bodies or worse them becoming zombies, it made tears well up in her eyes.

"Shhhh… don't cry, be strong Arya and as far as we know they may be sitting inside their house with door's closed waiting for you." Jason did not know how to console her he just hugged her tight and rubbed her back as he calmed her down. He knew there was a great probability that her family was dead and he knew the pain of losing one's family and knew that consoling did nothing in such a situation. You just have to be there with them and let them grieve as bottling such things can make people change.

"Hn" Arya Nodded as she wiped her eyes as she put on a brave and a hopeful face, hoping they will be alright.

She moved towards the entrance of their apartment, their apartment was on the fifth floor of this building and going through the lift would be extremely foolish in such a situation so they had to go through stairs.

She turned to put her hand on the front door and was about to push it open when Jason pulled her and called her to be silent as he put a finger on his lips in a silencing motion.

Jason had felt the stuffy feeling in his chest as soon as Arya put her hand on the door making him alert. It could only mean that his sixth sense was telling him that there was danger behind the door.

Jason slowly moved towards the edge of the door and waved his hand for Arya to stay back as he prepared to push the door with a kick and then jump sideways to dodge whatever was behind the door.

Bang* Jason kicked the door hard causing it to swing open with a banging sound as he dodged whatever came from inside. A zombie larger than normal zombie rushed out from them with its mouth open and his teeth ready to sink into the skin of the one who opened the door. But upon finding no one in front of it it turned to Arya as if it could see her and rushed towards her causing her to prepare her powers in a fluster as she was still a young girl and fighting zombies was a new and terrifying thing to her.

*Shoo *Shoo two silent gunshot rang as Jason shot the zombie in back of its head causing it to lose its momentum and land near Arya's feet with a stump jolting her.

"It must be a normal mutated zombie, it's more like a level two of zombies with more power and a large body. And it seemed to be able to see us, shit these zombies keep becoming stronger."

Jason said as he looked at the coins he got for killing it.

It was five coins, five times that of a normal zombie.

" Killing zombies is a quite lucrative business for me," Jason said with a weird smile on his face.

Jason moved to check for a mana bead that should come out from the zombie but he could not find one.

"Why didn't this one leave a Mana bead?" Jason asked the system.

"It mutated in a normal physical way without any powers so it's natural for it to not have a mana bead. Only those organisms which can harness the power of mana and have mana powers leave a mana bead, normally mutated ones will not leave anything." The system gave out an explanation patiently.

"So that's how it is," Jason said as he relayed the same information to Arya on looking at her confused look.

"Let's go inside," Jason said as he took the lead and moved inside the building coming face to face to thirteen level 2 zombies and a level one zombie.

"Look it's a welcoming party," Jason said as he took a shot at the zombie nearest to him as he saw them rush at him.
