Seeds of Power

__________ POV Narration__________

Beru stared at the 'alien' in front of him while tilting his head.

"Soo~ You're just going to answer all of my questions?~ Just like that?~" Beru asked in a careful tone, not wanting to stop his information gathering, but still wanting to sate his curiosity.

"I don't see any issue with clearing up any of your misunderstandings. I am not here to attack your kind.

Even if you are an inferior species, some of you have reached a point where facing you would prove troublesome, especially you."

Beru decided not to comment on the lives that the Alien had already taken with its awakening. After all, its violent gravitational pull had already ruined the entire research facility and harmed many in the vicinity.

At least Beru could somewhat make out some of its intentions.

"This would be so much easier on me if you stopped blowing air out of your ass~," He said while releasing a bored sigh.

The alien stared at Beru with a frown.

"I should have expected such language from someone like you... You were never the well-spoken type..."

Beru had always been a paranoid individual, so he didn't quite believe every word that came out of the being's mouth. Still, the fact that it wasn't attacking Beru spoke for itself.

Regardless of its intentions with humanity in general, it truly didn't wish to fight Beru.

"Still, I've made myself clear, I do not wish to fight anyone, especially not you. Besides, it wouldn't be that easy for you either, I've already seen your memories, so I know of your limitations and strengths."

But Beru still had some other worry clinging to the back of his mind.

"... Yeah~ By the way,~ When you woke up, did you come in contact with a plain-looking guy wearing a lab coat?~"

Beru asked with a fake smile on his face, completely ignoring the Alien's previous words.

Depending on the Alien's answer, the conversation was going to end abruptly.

Beru clenched his fist as he tilted his head to the side, his wings spread out as he prepared to lunge toward the alien.

"You must be talking about the one that was studying me. I was close to taking his power, but he managed to put a portal in between us and flee." Beru heaved a sigh of relief after hearing that.

He relaxed a bit, knowing that Yori was most likely recovering in a secret place.

"You talked about looking through memories~ So I'm guessing you already know about my situation, as well as that of everybody you've touched~"

Just like that, Beru went right back to interrogating the Alien. And it was working perfectly.

"Indeed. I have peered into the minds of many of your kind while in my dormant state. It all helped me understand how you humans decided to perceive the seeds of power you came to possess..."

"We're talking about quirks huh?~ Humans don't really have any other powers besides that~ Unless you count the intellect of those few truly talented people~"

"Oh yes... Quirks. A rather strange name to give them."

The Alien kept answering questions without any reaction. Beru's expression didn't change as he listened to the Alien's words.

"The seeds of power that appeared in your genetics... They were sown by us. Or another species like us." The alien seemed to be a bit confused as well now, meanwhile, Beru was trying to wrap his head around what he was hearing.

"They are not natural to this world, these powers. You should know that whether you're from a different world, or the distant past, you know that humans aren't supposed to possess this type of destructive strength."

Beru couldn't help but nod when hearing the Alien's words, still, he found the situation a bit strange.

The Alien knowing about his situation wasn't unusual since it had already peered into his memories once, but finding out that Quirks weren't even a genetic mutation, instead, they were a given to the human race by another alien race, that fact changed his entire perspective on the subject.

"Still~ This power completely merged with our genetics didn't it?~ What is the purpose of anyone giving us this type of strength anyway?~" Beru continued asking the questions that were more urgent in his mind.

"... We, or the race responsible for this, didn't give you strength... We merely planted a seed of it within your genetics at some point in history...

Slowly, that seed bloomed and flourished within you humans, it evolved at rates I've never seen before.

You are the apex, the very highest degree of evolution that that seed of power can even achieve..."

Beru tilted his head once more. He narrowed his eyes as he waited for the alien to answer his other question.

"As for the purpose... I can't be sure what the ones that put the seeds here wanted.

My kind merely discovered that the seeds were here, and we decided to observe them. Similar to how you humans keep flowers in pots or botanical gardens.

Maybe your species naturally developed this seed, maybe it was given but that hardly matters at this point."

"It does matter~ If someone gave it to us, then they have a purpose~ Someone with a hidden agenda that has enough resources to turn humanity into what it is today sounds a lot like a threat to me~"

Beru had relaxed somewhat, talking casually while thinking of how strange his day was...

"Hmm, I doubt anyone would have allowed that seed to develop to this point, it's already in full bloom, and you are even beyond that." The Alien said in a bored tone, seemingly getting tired of having to explain its situation to Beru.

Thankfully for our Alien, Beru's relaxation didn't last long, and neither will its boredom.

"You said you were observing us...~ As if we were flowers...~"

But he tensed up after not even a split second, as he remembered a rather crucial detail... Humans really loved to pick flowers...

"Does that mean you plan on harvesting the crops~ from this seed of power you keep talking about?~"

Beru clenched his fist as he stared at the Alien with a cold gaze. He didn't care that the Alien saw humans as an inferior species, he didn't care for the Alien's lack of interest in the safety of other humans.

But he did care about the Alien wanting to take 'harvest' humanity.

The Alien was silent, it also narrowed its eyes as it glared right back at Beru.

"Indeed, it would be very nice of you to not ress-" The Alien didn't even get to finish, as Beru put up his clenched fist forwards, in an instant said fist expanded to the size of a large building.

The expansion managed to land a hit on the Alien that same instant. A metallic clang reverberated throughout the entire area as Beru looked at his stopped fist with a confused gaze.

To the other side, the Alien stood in its place, it hadn't even moved an inch. Its hand was extended forwards, stopping Beru's gigantic fist without even trembling a bit.

"Hmm... I guess violence is always the answer with your species. Don't worry, I'll try and make this short..."

Beru retracted his arm and scoffed. He looked at his slightly bent exoskeleton, in the place where he had made contact with the Alien.

A crazed smile instantly appeared on Beru's face as he stared at his new opponent.

'I guess he didn't talk all that shit for no reason... THIS IS GOING TO BE FUN~'
